00:00Politicians are known for stretching the truth, but freshman Republican Representative George Santos has a list of lies stretching for
00:06miles.
00:07Now, Politico reports, the FBI are investigating him for reportedly taking over $3,000 in funds meant to support a
00:14veteran and his dying dog.
00:16The service member's name is Rich Osthoff, and he says that back in 2016, he met a man named Anthony
00:21DeVolder.
00:22When Osthoff's dog got sick with a stomach tumor, DeVolder set up a GoFundMe for treatment.
00:26The only thing is, after more than $3,000 was raised for the dog, DeVolder disappeared and couldn't be contacted.
00:33So, what does this have to do with George Santos?
00:35Well, Anthony DeVolder is one of his known aliases.
00:38Osthoff says he was recently contacted by the FBI about the situation, telling Politico, quote,
00:43I was worried that what happened to me was too long ago to be prosecuted.
00:46Back in January, GoFundMe told Insider that their teams had removed that fundraiser back in 2016.
00:51After receiving reports of fraud, they then banned Santos' email address.
00:55After being unable to contact him, preventing him from setting up further GoFundMe campaigns.
