00:00I think we need to stop ranking everything we consume.
00:10Um...
00:16Whoa. Um...
00:18I'm gonna go underrated.
00:19I think when people talk about, like, the universe, or people talk about, like, Christian God, or people talk about,
00:24like, some kind of deity or something,
00:26we're all sort of talking about the same thing, and that thing is for sure underrated.
00:31But, yeah.
00:36Duck Duck Goose is underrated.
00:38I haven't played Duck Duck Goose in a while. I haven't had a big enough group.
00:41If I was with a group, more than ten people, and we were in, like, a park, I would probably
00:44suggest it.
00:49Deadmau5? I don't know. I think he's underrated.
00:52I'm not sure. He's definitely, like, known for having a nasty attitude.
00:58And having a very specific, um, very specific production, like, opinions and needs that he wants from, like, other producers
01:06or something.
01:07But I love Deadmau5. If I can't fall asleep on the plane, I'll play, like, a whole Deadmau5 album.
01:13That'll usually do the trick.
01:15But it's, like, not because it's, like, boring. It's, like, meditative.
01:22I watch Minecraft videos to go to sleep every night.
01:25Like, the last one I watched, though, was, like, crazy.
01:27Because I was watching a Let's Play. It really shows kind of, like, the greed of man.
01:32In the super high-end game stuff, you have to take villagers from their village and put them in little
01:38cells so that you can trade with them exclusively.
01:41And then you force them to, like, you have a villager breeder. You have to force them to, like, breed
01:47and make more villagers.
01:48Like, it's pretty cruel. But I don't know. I haven't played it in a while.
01:52But if I did, I would try and play it, like, a pacifist.
01:54I used to do a lot of Minecraft parkour.
01:57I've stopped doing it because it was, like, kind of a go-to thing when I was bored.
02:01And I think I should probably just let myself be bored now.
02:05But I'm very good at it.
02:07Underrated.
02:12Underrated, for sure.
02:14I've learned a lot from that game.
02:15The real underrated stuff is, like, the matte ones from, like, that you could do on the Wii.
02:20That's what I had when I was younger.
02:22And I would only play on the mat.
02:24I definitely get a workout.
02:26I used to go once a week, every week.
02:28I think I've just gotten, like, a little better at movement.
02:32Like, when I was trying to learn choreo, I feel like the footwork probably came a little easier.
02:38Do you have, like, a go-to song that you would do?
02:40There's a song called Love Shine.
02:42The, like, Body Groovers, the 2008 mix or something.
02:46I don't know if I got that right.
02:47But that's a good one.
02:53Bison?
02:55Underrated.
02:57I don't know anything about bison, but I don't even think I've seen bison.
03:01One of my favorite movies is The Revenant, and there's, like, a part where he sees, like, a bunch of
03:05bison.
03:05It's, like, the most beautiful shot, like, ever.
03:08For that reason, underrated.
03:14iMovie is underrated.
03:16You can do a lot of stuff with iMovie.
03:18There's obviously a lot you can't do, but, like, sometimes I'll use it still to this day if I just,
03:23like, don't want to bust out Final Cut or whatever.
03:26I used to make movies.
03:29I had, like, a flip video camera, and I would, like, just edit all the stuff in iMovie.
03:34I had all these Nerf guns, and I was really into, like, putting, like, muzzle flares on the end of
03:39the Nerf guns.
03:41And they looked really bad.
03:42But that was a vibe.
03:43What are you editing nowadays?
03:45Um, clips for socials.
03:53Underrated, because they don't mess up your makeup, I think.
03:57But, I don't know.
04:05Perfect pitch is overrated.
04:09I just think, like, I don't know.
04:11You shouldn't brag about it.
04:13You shouldn't brag about having perfect pitch.
04:14That's, like, whatever.
04:16I think it can be learned, also.
04:17That's my hot take.
04:18I think perfect pitch can be learned.
04:20And I think I have, like, spent enough time when I was a kid, like, putting dubstep songs and, like,
04:28figuring out the minor keys or whatever, like, onto my USB.
04:32That, like, I feel like I have a general idea of, like, what the notes are now.
04:38I don't think I have perfect pitch.
04:39I can, like, sometimes tell, like, what the keys are.
04:42But not all the time.
04:43It's definitely, like, imperfect pitch.
04:45Like, it's not very good.
04:46If I were to try to sing a note, do you think you could guess it?
04:50It would probably take me, like, a long time.
04:53But I might be able to.
04:54Okay, how about…
04:58Uh…
04:58Nope.
05:05Underrated, but I'm really bad at it.
05:07I only know how to draw this, like, radish guy that I would draw in, like, the second grade.
05:11I'm, like, really bad at drawing.
05:12And I really envy people that are good at drawing.
05:14I think it leads to, like, a lot of really cool art that's not drawing.
05:19If you know how to draw.
05:20Like, it informs your other art.
05:23There's this artist called Ochiei Shohei who did all the illustrations for my album.
05:28I just really love his style.
05:30And I've always wanted to work with him in some way.
05:33And then this time it just, like, made sense.
05:36I think it's, like, a good representation for the album.
05:40The way he draws, like, technology and busy kind of consumerist architecture and stuff.
05:47It was, like, exactly what I was hoping for.
05:53Underrated.
05:54They have some bangers.
05:56I think because they're, like, the biggest K-pop group,
05:58people just, like, assume, like, their biggest, like, songs are, like, them as a group.
06:05But, like, a lot of their stuff, like, when they first debuted and, like, the few years after that
06:09is, like, really cool stuff.
06:11Especially for K-pop, which is, like, a very, like, strict kind of industry.
06:16Like, the members were, like, writing their own parts and stuff.
06:18And, like, I don't know.
06:19It felt very, like, personal.
06:20Which is, I think, why they became so big in the first place.
06:23I think that was definitely part of it.
06:24It's probably a bad business move to release your album on the day that BTS is releasing their comeback album.
06:31I think my album comes up the same day.
06:33I did not realize.
06:34I just picked, I just picked that date because it sounded the prettiest.
06:41Michigan is underrated.
06:42That's, like, a top five state in the country.
06:46It's, like, cheating, though.
06:47It has, like, two states in it.
06:48The UP.
06:49The Upper Peninsula.
06:50What about Sufjan's Michigan?
06:52That album is amazing.
06:54So is Illinois.
06:55The whole states project, I think, was, like, really inspirational for my second album where I was trying to do
07:01my fake town in Michigan or whatever.
07:05But, yeah.
07:09That's a dermal piercing.
07:11Oh.
07:12Underrated.
07:12Those are cool.
07:13I like those.
07:13I like Playboi Carti's.
07:18Underrated.
07:19There's always new culture coming from SoundCloud.
07:23And I think it's cool that you can, like, comment on other people's stuff, like, on the waveform.
07:29From a website design standpoint, they need to get it together.
07:31They just, I don't know what they're doing.
07:33I don't even think they have, like, two-factor.
07:35You can't put any unreleased on SoundCloud.
07:37But, shout out SoundCloud.
07:39Underrated.
07:43Imogen Heap is underrated.
07:45Imogen Heap is one of the most talented musicians to grace the earth.
07:51Her willingness to, like, explore different kinds of music and timbres and different sounds is, like, really inspirational.
07:58I watched the documentary for Ellipse where she was, like, making it.
08:02And she just had a lot of really cool, like, session musicians come through.
08:06The whole time she was in her, like, parents' house, she decked out, like, part of the house into a
08:13studio.
08:13She's a really inspirational artist.
08:16And I do think she goes underrated, especially for, like, production.
08:19Like, she's an insane producer.
08:26Overrated.
08:26There's definitely, like, a stopping point for music theory.
08:29Where, like, I feel like you just gotta know, like, the major scale, honestly.
08:35Once you get into, like, counterpoint and, like, trying to compose for four voices or something, I think it gets,
08:43like...
08:43I don't know.
08:44It's hard to figure out how to adapt it in a modern context without making, like, classical music from it.
08:50But I do think jazz theory is underrated.
08:53All that kind of stuff, like cluster chords.
08:55That is, I think, much more, like, relevant to our time.
09:03Overrated.
09:04That shit is whack.
09:10I don't know.
09:11I was definitely a bell pepper hater.
09:13But now that I'm a little more grown, I think they, like, they definitely enhance whatever meal they're in.
09:18I don't know if I would eat, like, a stuffed bell pepper, though.
09:22Rated.
09:28The Bay Area is underrated, but it's definitely, like, San Francisco, I think, is going through kind of a rough
09:35patch with all the AI tech shit.
09:38It just feels kind of like a ghost town.
09:41But I do really love the Bay Area, especially having grown up there.
09:45That's, like, a very romantic thing to me.
09:48Very grateful to be from a place that beautiful.
09:51I don't live there right now.
09:52I don't know if I would move back at its current state.
10:01GeoGuessr is underrated.
10:03I think it's, like, a great way of, like, learning about the world without traveling.
10:09It's really impressive when people are good at it, but it's very scary when people are good at it.
10:12If you are, like, a stalker and you are really good at GeoGuessr, then it's, like, kind of a, it's,
10:18that's cause for concern, maybe.
10:24Bronies.
10:25That's a tricky one.
10:27I mean, My Little Pony is probably underrated.
10:29And I think a lot of the, like, brony artists are really, really talented.
10:35Some of the most talented computer users, I think, are bronies.
10:39But I do think the fandom was, like, pretty shady.
10:45There's a lot of, like, creepy men, I think, in the brony community.
10:49I do think it was ultimately probably a harmful community.
10:53But I do think the art that came out of it is really good, so.
10:57I'm gonna go ovary.
11:03Okay, but what does that mean, though?
11:04Oh, are you talking about actual LARPing or, like, when, like, like, Gen Z LARPing?
11:09Actual LARPing is, is, is underrated.
11:12I think that's, like, really cool.
11:13And I really want to go to a war reenactment.
11:16I don't know if they would call that LARPing, but that's something I've always wanted to do.
11:24I mean, probably overrated.
11:26I don't know enough about Jack Harlow, but I do really like Churchill Downs with Drake.
11:30I think it has Drake's best verse on it.
11:36Underrated.
11:37I don't have, I don't have an issue with it.
11:44Rate Your Music is overrated.
11:47I think we need to stop ranking everything we consume.
11:51Do you like Pitchfork?
11:52It depends with Pitchfork.
11:53I like the legendary interviews where they're, like, really mean.
11:56I do like how it's turned, though.
11:59Like, mono is awesome.
12:04Penguins.
12:05Penguins are underrated.
12:06I love those things.
12:08Why are they underrated?
12:09Because they're birds.
12:12And that's, like, crazy.
12:17Music is underrated.
12:19Music is awesome.
12:21Actually, no.
12:22Actually, no, overrated.
12:23Nice.
12:24Not overrated.
