00:32We join our protagonist, Sam Higgs, en route back to Basswood to attend the funeral of his best friend.
00:40And Sam isn't alone on this journey. He's accompanied by his alter ego, The Double, who acts as an occasional
00:47advisor and permanent wiseass.
00:50I'm telling you, we'd almost gotten over this! And yet, you're here again, and this time you dragged me here!
00:57The Double is a manifestation of the inner voice that lies within all of us, a voice that offers us
01:03a different perspective to the world.
01:05In Sam's case, The Double represents the self-confidence he doesn't have, and also his innate instincts for self-preservation
01:13and protection.
01:15This concept of duality is at the core of Twin Mirror's narrative experience, and also at the heart of its
01:21innovative gameplay.
01:23And to explain this in more detail, let's fast forward to the day after the funeral.
01:33Sam slowly awakens in his hotel room. The funeral was a long day and a heavy night.
01:39What happened last night? Did I black out or what?
01:43And his day is about to get worse.
01:46Do not go in there.
01:48What are you even still doing here? Move! I need to shower and use the bathroom.
01:54I did try to warn you. That's a lot of blood. And that's definitely my shirt from last night.
02:03I need to know what went down last night.
02:10To unravel the chain of events from the night before, Sam employs his unique abilities of memory visualization and deductive
02:17reasoning.
02:19These abilities combine within his mind palace, a mental space that enables him to examine, store, and sort sequences of
02:27information.
02:27And he'll use this space to deduce solutions to the various puzzles, challenges, and crime scenes he'll encounter.
02:35Sam reconstructs the hotel room scene in his mind, and then uses the information he has to work through the
02:41various possible permutations of his actions from the night before.
02:45I went to sleep, obviously. But did I do something before that?
02:53Whenever he encounters a block or a contradiction, Sam is able to go back to the real location to gather
03:00evidence that further informs his deductions.
03:03Whatever happened, I called 911.
03:09Did I try and wash my shirt? How drunk was I?
03:14Piece by piece, a picture of events begins to take shape, until finally, the whole truth is revealed.
03:21Okay, wake up. Focus. Remember.
03:24And new mysteries and objectives have emerged in his pursuit of these answers.
03:31As he investigates further, Sam will uncover a web of intrigue that spreads through the evocative locations and complex characters
03:40of Basswood.
03:41Mr. Samuel Hayes.
03:43And he will be forced to decide who he can trust.
03:46I didn't want to be here anyways!
03:48And whether he can even trust himself.
03:55Twin Mirrors' first episode, Lost on Arrival, will be available in 2019, and we'll be sharing more updates on the
04:01game close to that.
04:02Thanks for watching.
