00:00Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen's Social Democrats are set to win Denmark's general elections without a majority according to exit
00:08polls.
00:10Hungary's Foreign Minister Peter Siato admits to calls with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov during key EU meetings.
00:21Qatar said it is not involved in mediation efforts between the US and Iran and is focusing on defending itself
00:27from Iran's attacks.
00:33Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen's Social Democrats and the left-wing bloc are set to win Denmark's general elections but
00:41it appears they failed to secure a majority according to two exit polls published after voting stations closed on Tuesday
00:48evening.
00:48The exit polls were conducted by Danish public broadcaster DR and private broadcast channel TV2.
00:55They predict the left-wing bloc will take between 83 and 86 seats in the 179-seat parliament.
01:03The right-wing bloc is expected to get between 75 and 78 seats while the centrist moderates are seen as
01:11becoming the kingmaker with 14 seats.
01:13Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, a Social Democrat who has been in office since 2019, was widely seen as the favourite
01:21in opinion polls running up to the election after standing up to US President Donald Trump over Greenland.
01:33Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen's Social Democrats and the right-wing bloc has been in office since 2018, was the right
01:33-wing bloc.
01:33Hungary's Foreign Minister Peter Seato has acknowledged that he regularly contacts his Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov, during private EU meetings
01:43on foreign affairs.
01:45The Hungarian government had earlier dismissed the allegations as fake news, but Seato acknowledged they were true during a speech
01:53on Monday evening.
01:55The allegations are explosive as EU member states are bound by the principle of sincere cooperation and the content of
02:03such meetings is understood to be confidential.
02:07In a video posted on social media on Tuesday, Seato rejected claims that he had breached security protocols, insisting that
02:15secrets are not discussed at the ministerial-level meetings in question.
02:20Seato said he also speaks to his counterparts in Serbia, Israel, the United States and Turkey, both before and after
02:29EU meetings on foreign affairs.
02:31The revelations come as political tensions mount ahead of Hungary's parliamentary elections the next month, in which the ruling party
02:39is behind in the polls against opposition leader Peter Magyar's teaser party.
02:49The European Commission has delayed the presentation of a highly anticipated proposal to permanently ban the imports of Russian oil,
02:57as the war in the Middle East continues to send shockwaves across energy markets and keep the Brent barrel over
03:03$100.
03:05It also comes amid a tense standoff with Hungary and Slovakia, the only two member states that still buy Russian
03:11oil over the Soviet-era Drushba pipeline.
03:15I do not have, first of all, a new date to give.
03:18What I can reassure you of is that we remain committed to making this proposal.
03:23What the president has been very clear on is that going back to importing Russian energy would be repeating a
03:30mistake from the past.
03:31It would be a strategic blunder.
03:32So we have successfully already put in place and in force the repower gas regulation, which already banned, as from
03:44last Wednesday, the new short-term and long-term gas contracts.
03:48And we are determined to continue with other energy forms as well.
03:53The legislation, which is part of the Repower EU roadmap, was tentatively scheduled to be unveiled on the 15th of
04:00April.
04:01But the date has now been removed from the calendar.
04:04The Commission insisted the change in timing did not mean a change in policy,
04:09saying the proposal had not been cancelled and would still be published, though no longer by the mid-April date.
04:17Here in Doha and across the Gulf, there's a sense of cautious relief after the U.S. announced it has
04:23started negotiations with Iran.
04:25For many people here, that's offered a bit of breathing room, at least for now.
04:30But officials say Qatar is not out of the eye of the storm just yet.
04:34Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Dr. Majid Al-Ansari said Qatar is not involved in mediation efforts as it focuses
04:40on defending itself from Iran's attacks and the country reserves the right to respond.
04:45At the same time, Dr. Al-Ansari acknowledged Qatar and Iran will have to find a way forward and coexist
04:52after the war, but that rebuilding trust will be up to Iran.
04:56Our country has been attacked. Our sovereignty has been attacked.
05:00We have seen the effects on our economy, on the daily lives of people living here, and we don't take
05:06it lightly,
05:06and we don't see the attacks on our sovereignty as something that we can live with.
05:10Now, that said, obviously, living next to 90 million people in Iran, a proud people that we have shared the
05:18Gulf with for, as I said, millennia, will continue,
05:22and we will have to find a way past this.
05:24This is a very difficult moment, but we will find our way out of it.
05:28The attacks on the region persist. We remain vigilant. We are not out of the eye of the storm.
05:35I can't explain to you why these couple of days were without the incident, but what I can tell you
05:42is that we welcome any reduction of escalation.
05:46He also condemned the targeting of energy facilities in Qatar and across the region, warning of what he called catastrophic
05:53consequences for the Gulf.
05:55With the risk of further retaliation still a concern, he says protecting critical infrastructure remains a top priority.
06:02I can assure you that we have taken all possible precautions and planned for every possible contingency with very clear
06:08scenarios on possible escalation,
06:11but we are confident in our security apparatus right now and our response to the crisis.
06:17Plans are being implemented fully, and we have not seen any breakdown within the scenarios that were built for such
06:25contingency.
06:25Meanwhile, authorities say it's now safe for people to return to work as part of efforts to restore a sense
06:31of normal life.
06:32So while there is cautious optimism, there's also real uncertainty.
06:36People here are watching closely and waiting to see what happens next.
06:41Adel Halim, Euronews, Doha.
06:46Former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett has lashed at European leaders accusing the EU of acting in a cowardly manner
06:54regarding Iran and claiming that Israel is also fighting the war on behalf of Europe.
07:00Bennett made the comments in an interview with Euronews Programme Europe Today, a few days after EU leaders called for
07:07diplomatic engagement to resolve the crisis.
07:11You know, it's a bit cowardly.
07:13We are fighting their war.
07:15We, in fact, had we not acted, all of Europe would be under a terrible nuclear ballistic missile menace.
07:26So we're fighting your war, and we expect not to be, you know, criticized in and on, but we expect
07:34your backing.
07:35That would be the decent thing to do, but we get it.
07:38We have to do the hard job.
07:39We're used to it, and we'll do what's right.
07:43Bennett insisted that Israel is fighting the most just of wars and said the military campaign was necessary in order
07:51to stop the threat from Iran, despite the immediacy of the threat being widely challenged.
07:57When asked whether Israel is working under U.S. President Donald Trump's timeline for the war and whether it would
08:03accept a deal, Bennett said it would depend on whether it would align with its objective of completely dismantling Iran's
08:10nuclear program.
08:12Trump had said on Monday that he would give Iran a five-day deadline to hold talks and explore the
08:18possibility of a deal.
08:19All points of agreement.
08:20All points of agreement.
08:50So the way to the village of the village is to protect the environment and the environment.
08:57It can also provide the way to our village and to support the village of the village.
09:08Hello, I'm the city of the city of the village.
09:13Nice to meet you.
09:14Did you see that a little bit too?
09:16The water and water is more beautiful.
09:19We love the some of the water from the water없ing plants.
09:26I'm gonna go to the water when I want it.
09:31We have to let it go to the bottom of the water.
09:41Thank you so much.
10:22The work of restoration is quite complex because it requires a scientific reflection,
10:30that is to say which card we will choose to restore,
10:33and all the technical work of restoration.
10:39The time we are going to restore a card depends on its condition,
10:44but also on what we want to do.
11:00In the Renaissance, the card was a way to anticipate the unknown world.
11:08The imagination was an instrument of knowledge,
11:12so we invited explorers to explore the incarnations,
11:19which were presented on the cards in a way sometimes farfelues and assumées,
11:23like 10.
