00:00Fresh Iranian strikes were reported across the Gulf region a day after the U.S. struck
00:05Karg Island and threatened in raiding oil facilities.
00:10Overnight strikes in southern Lebanon killed at least four people as Israel presses ahead
00:15with its campaign it says is targeted against Iran-backed Hezbollah.
00:21Ukraine's President Vladimir Zelensky said that Kiev is ready for the next round of peace talks
00:26but is waiting on next moves by the U.S. and Russia.
00:31Fresh Iranian strikes were reported across the Gulf region on Sunday morning a day after the
00:36U.S. struck Karg Island, vital to Iran's oil exports and threatened Iranian oil facilities.
00:43Iran's military in turn threatened to attack U.S.-linked oil assets in the region if its oil
00:49infrastructure was hit. Iran accused the U.S. of using ports in the United Arab Emirates to launch
00:56the strikes, threatening for the first time a neighboring country's non-U.S. assets.
01:02The UAE, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia all reported drones and missiles had been launched at their
01:07countries on Sunday. Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump said he hoped allies would send
01:13warships to secure the Strait of Hormuz. Britain in response said it was discussing with allies
01:18a range of options to secure shipping. At the same time, air raids sounded over Israel and Iran
01:25overnight as the two countries continued to trade strikes, while direct clashes between Israel and
01:30Hezbollah were reported in Lebanon.
01:37At least four people were killed in overnight Israeli strikes on southern Lebanon, Lebanese state media
01:43and the government said on Sunday. An apartment in a residential building in the coastal city of
01:49Sidon was struck, killing one person and causing a fire. Residential buildings in Sidon have been hit
01:55by multiple Israeli strikes this week, leaving many residents displaced. Excavators also cleared rubble
02:02in Beirut's southern suburb on Sunday after Israeli strikes earlier that day destroyed and damaged
02:08dozens of buildings in Lebanon's capital. Israel said it was targeting infrastructure used by Hezbollah
02:14as it continues fighting a second front in the war in the Middle East alongside the air campaign against
02:20Iran. On a visit to Beirut, UN Chief Antonio Guterres urged for a diplomatic solution to end the war
02:28and urged the international community to support Lebanon.
02:37Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Kyiv is ready for the next round of peace talks,
02:42but said that it was up to the U.S. and Russia to decide when and where to meet.
02:46The Ukrainian leader said Washington had proposed to meet in the U.S. next week,
02:51but that Russia did not want to meet there.
02:53Peace talks have been underway in the United Arab Emirates earlier this year,
02:58but were put on hold due to the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran.
03:02Zelensky feared the escalating conflict in the Middle East could draw attention away from Russia's
03:07full-scale invasion of Ukraine. And the Ukrainian leader has now also warned that Iran could drain
03:12the air defense stockpiles Ukraine depends on to counter Russian attacks.
03:17Meanwhile, Russia continues to launch near-daily attacks on Ukraine.
03:22Zelensky said that in the past week, Russia struck Ukraine with more than 1,700 drones,
03:28over 1,500 aerial bombs, and just under 100 missiles.
03:36North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, accompanied by his teenage daughter,
03:41observed a live-fire test of multiple rocket launch systems, state media reported.
03:46Kimu watched the strike drill involving 12 .600-mm caliber ultra-precision rocket launches
03:52off North Korea's east coast on Saturday. South Korea's military said it detected about
03:5810 ballistic missiles fired from North Korea's capital region towards the eastern sea.
04:04The country's National Security Council called the launches a provocation that violated
04:08UN Security Council resolutions that bans any ballistic activities by North Korea.
04:15The test coincided with the springtime U.S.-South Korean Freedom Shield training,
04:20the computer-simulated command post exercise, which is to run through March 19.
04:26North Korea often reacts to the exercise with its own weapons tests and fiery rhetoric.
