00:01Six people were killed and 37 injured in a Ukrainian missile attack on Russia's Bryansk region, according to local authorities.
00:10The attack reportedly targeted a plant that produces electronic parts for various weapon systems and military equipment.
00:34The Ukrainian military said it used British-made storm-shadow cruise missiles to hit the target.
00:41Meanwhile, Russia launched over 100 drones at Ukraine overnight, targeting four cities and killing at least four people.
00:53A Russian strike killed at least four people in the eastern Ukrainian city of Slovyansk,
00:58as Moscow continues its near-daily aerial attacks on civilian areas in Ukraine.
01:05Also, other cities were targeted, including Dnipro in central Ukraine, where a dozen people were injured.
01:12There are no windows.
01:13Did you not hurt?
01:15Yes, because I was in the hospital. I only came to the hospital.
01:19Here is the border.
01:22All right. There is a hole.
01:30You were not here?
01:32What?
01:32You were here?
01:33Yes, I was here. You see, it hit the head.
01:38The latest attack comes as Russian and Ukrainian officials both claim to have made frontline progress.
01:44Kyiv says it had pushed Moscow's forces back, while the Kremlin insists Russia is making progress.
01:51There was, however, no independent verification of either claim so far.
01:56It comes as U.S.-brokered talks between Russia and Ukraine are currently on hold, as Washington's attention is gripped by
02:03its war in Iran.
02:06The difference is in how you evaluate that, but the numbers...
02:09United States Defense Secretary Pete Hexeth told reporters on Tuesday that the will of the U.S. to fight Iran
02:16was endless,
02:17but he insisted the war won't be protracted.
02:21The day before, President Donald Trump said he expected the war to end very soon,
02:26but provided no timeline, contradicting an earlier statement it would last four to five weeks.
02:32And from the beginning, from this podium, we haven't stated how long it will take.
02:35Our will is endless.
02:37Ultimately, the president gets to determine the end state of those objectives, right?
02:42But what he's said continually, and I want the American people to understand, is this is not endless,
02:48it's not protracted, we're not allowing mission creep.
02:52In the meantime, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz shared concerns about an apparent lack of plans
02:58for the end of the war in Iran.
03:23Americans are divided along party lines and U.S. military action against Iran, according to polls.
03:29Most polls show opposition is higher than support.
03:37Anger is mounting among motorists in France over gasoline prices as the war in the Middle East
03:42and the blockade of the Strait of Hamus take their toll on shipping.
03:46At many stations, the price per litre is approaching or exceeding two euros.
03:52A sharp increase that is generating reactions in cities such as Paris
03:56and that is making daily life difficult for many.
03:58At least 30 to 40 centimes on Paris, it's awful.
04:03So here, I just put something to go home in the bathroom and put the rest in the Val d
04:10'Oise where I live.
04:12In Massé, many are finding the increase a hard pill to swallow, while some say this could offer a possible
04:19advantage.
04:39The escalating conflict with Iran has targeted the Strait of Hamus, one of the world's most important routes for global
04:46oil and gas shipments, and disrupted energy
04:49shipments, sending oil prices above $100 a barrel over the weekend.
04:57German Chancellor Friedrich Maers has called Israel's New West Bank Settlement Initiative a big mistake, urging the Israeli government to
05:04halt what he described as annexation moves.
05:06The so-called E-1 project was greenlit last August, paving the way for 3,400 housing units across a
05:1412 square kilometer area to the east of Jerusalem.
05:17Building on his past opposition to the settlements, Maers used his Berlin address to call for a joint European message
05:24on the subject.
05:25It confirmed that Foreign Minister Johan Wethpuh is to emphasize this stance during his visit to Israel.
05:30The plan has drawn widespread international condemnation, with a UN spokesman warning it poses an existential threat to a contagious
05:39Palestinian state.
05:40An Israeli settlement watchdog has also denounced the recent publication of a construction tender for the E-1 area.
05:48Driven by the approval of 19 new settlements in December 2025, Israeli expansion has reached its highest level since 2017,
05:57a surge that far-right finance minister Bezalel Smotrich openly stated is aimed at preventing a Palestinian state.
06:09Volkswagen has announced 50,000 job cuts in Germany by 2030 as the car makers' profits fell by 44%, hitting
06:17their lowest level since 2016.
06:20Europe's largest automobile manufacturer had already struck a deal with unions in 2024 to cut 35,000 jobs within its
06:26main brand to save 15 billion euros a year.
06:31Additional cuts will now hit premium brands, including Audi and Porsche, as well as the company's software subsidiary, Cariad.
06:39Already struggling with stagnant demand in Europe, especially for electric cars, and cratering sales in China, the 10 brand group
06:46has also felt the severe effects of U.S. tariffs on non-American car makers.
06:51Chinese electric rivals like BYD and Geely have created fierce competition for the German giant, both locally and internationally.
07:00Volkswagen's head of finance, Arno Antlitz, warned that further cost-cutting is essential to make the firm competitive again.
07:07For 2026, Volkswagen expects a core profit margin of between 4 and 5.5%, potentially even lower than the 4
07:14.6% it recently achieved.
07:20Fantas Porto has returned to its home of recent years, the Bataha Cinema, for the 46th edition of what is
07:27Porto's biggest film festival and one of the biggest in Portugal.
07:30The festival has two major competitive sections, one dedicated to fantasy cinema and the other to author films of all
07:37genres, the Director's Week.
07:41In the fantasy film category, the first prize went to an Argentine film, Encantador, a classic horror movie with many
07:49scares that won over the jury.
07:57It's quite a classic film for its genre, a murderer who's kidnapped some women and then the story is quite
08:08well told and within a very impressive actor performance as well.
08:15I think the atmosphere and also the production design was very well done.
08:40The film is not different. The format is different. The ideas of the Mazzo Menno's remain there.
09:13In Batalha, the seventh art joins the art of Julio Pomar.
09:17In Batalha, the seventh art joins the art of Julio Pomar.
09:18As you can see, you can see the frescos that were painted in 1940 by Julio Pomar.
09:24During about 75 years, they thought they were irremediately lost, until they were recovered in a few years,
09:32for a team of restauro.
09:34The frescos were, at the time, sent to the police political regime of Salazar.
09:40This scenario, here in Cinema Batalha, one of the historic cinemas of the city of Porto,
09:45is also, since 2023, the scenario of Fantasy Porto,
09:50the festival that's now a 46th edition,
09:54to premiere cinema in the world.
09:58Ricardo Figueira, Euronews, Porto.
10:01The next day.

10:41Winnie the Pooh is that lovable everyman, right?
10:43We see the frustrations that he has waking up in the morning, because we see that too.
10:48So he's a little bit of a mirror on all of us.
10:50He's lovable, he's affable, he's that kind-hearted, tubby little stuff full of fluff that we all love to embrace
10:56and enjoy.
10:57And that's something that makes the character timeless, lovable, and just truly amazing.
11:09Pooh definitely is a bringer of joy.
11:11And he's very, you know, very calm.
11:15You never see Pooh get overly flustered.
11:18Even when he does get upset, he still, there's a calmness to his demeanor, which I think most people really
11:25gravitate to.
