01:32Oh, absolutely
01:33Terrain deformation can be used in a number of different ways
01:36You can, for example, you can raise a hill up in front of you
01:38and then use it to take cover behind
01:41You can dig down underneath to, like, dig your way into a building that's been closed off
01:47So you can use it for navigation purposes like that
01:50There's a number of different puzzles that you're going to need to solve in the game
01:53that you're going to need to manipulate the terrain in order to do this
01:55For example, there might be, we have, like, an anti-aircraft gun
01:59that's taking down your dropships
02:01and you can raise the terrain underneath it
02:03so that it crashes into its shield and destroys it
02:06That's the only way that you can do it
02:08And then all of our weapons deform the terrain
02:11so you can use them in combat as well
02:13they also have destructive purposes
02:14so you can throw a tectonic grenade into a group of guys
02:17and it not only explodes and creates damage
02:19but it also builds this hill that throws the enemies and objects and everything in all directions
02:26We've asked some examples of deformations that make it happen on the gameplay

03:09and gives you access to over-the-top, kind of out-of-control, amped-up force powers

03:30What are the key elements of your game that will make the best Star Wars game right now?
03:35Well, we really focused on a couple things
03:38One, we wanted the core gameplay to be all about kind of kicking ass with the Force
03:42So every time I press a button, I do something really visceral and unexpected and powerful with the Force
03:47We also have a huge amount of environmental interactivity
03:51So I can almost interact with everything in the environment
03:54I can grab TIE fighters and throw them at enemies
03:56I can slam enemies through play-class windows and they'll get sucked out into space
04:00And then we also have a very strong central storyline that again bridges the gap between episodes 3 and 4
04:06And really ties in those two trilogies together with a lot of revelations for fans
04:30What about the graphic engine? Can you talk about the graphic engine?
04:34Yes, we developed an engine in-house here at LucasArts in order to deliver the Force Unleashed experience
04:40We did work very closely with ILM, Industrial Light & Magic, another Lucasfilm company to develop lighting pipelines
04:47And things that would make the game look truly next-gen
04:51We asked the graphic engine from Star Wars game. It's a proprietary game engine.
04:57They've worked together with Lucasfilm for graphics effects
05:01So it will be very important because it's useful for the interaction with the finalists
05:04Last question about the Wii version
05:07What will differ between the other versions?
05:10So the Wii version of the game is being developed by a company called Chrome in Australia
05:14And really what we tried to focus on there is the controller
05:17So we have the Wiimote that you wield like a lightsaber
05:20But we didn't want to make a kind of one-to-one hardcore fencing simulator
05:25We really wanted to make it an accessible experience
05:27Where if I swing left, the lightsaber goes left
05:29If I go right, it goes right
05:30If I stab, it stabs
05:31And then you can combine those really fluidly to create a number of combos
05:35And then the nunchuck is used for all the force powers
05:38So things like force push and grip
05:39And then you can combine those two through a lot of different gestures
05:42To do things like hit somebody with lightsaber attack
05:45Then follow up with a force push and send them flying like they've been hit by a cannonball
05:48We have asked about the Wii version
05:51Obviously it was developed by another team in Australia
05:54The particular thing is that with Wiimote you can use the sword for the defenders
05:58While with nunchuck the force
05:59So it makes the experience even more interactive
