00:01Welcome to the competitive world of Rainbow Six Siege.
00:04The following video will explain how Rainbow Six Esports works in the European region,
00:09how the region fits into the global esports program,
00:12and what you can do to get involved in Rainbow Six Competitive Play.
00:16First off, let's set the scene.
00:18Globally, four regions compose the Rainbow Six Esports program.
00:22North America, Latin America, Asia Pacific, and Europe.
00:26Each region has its own dedicated competitive format that we'll dig into a little later.
00:32On a global scale, the Rainbow Six Esports program refreshes every year.
00:36One year equals one season, running from March to the following February.
00:41The four independent regional leagues run from March to December.
00:44These leagues are divided into three stages.
00:47At the end of each stage, the top four teams from each region will qualify for the sixth major,
00:52a global competition featuring the top 16 international teams.
00:57Depending on their ranking in the regional leagues and the majors,
01:00teams will earn points for the global standings.
01:03At the conclusion of the three stages in December,
01:05the 16 teams with the most points in the global standings
01:08will automatically qualify for the sixth invitational.
01:12Four extra teams will have one last chance to qualify for the competition
01:16through regional open qualifiers,
01:18making the sixth invitational a 20-team competition.
01:20the most prestigious Rainbow Six Esports event,
01:24and a chance for teams to dominate the global stage
01:27and prove they are the best in the world.
01:29Let's move on to Europe and our unique league structure.
01:33In the European League, we have a total of 10 teams vying to win each season.
01:37These teams will compete in a round-robin system,
01:40meaning each team will face all the other teams.
01:43A win is rewarded with three points,
01:45a draw one point, and zero for a loss.
01:49The stage ends when all the teams have faced each other once.
01:53The teams placed 5th to 8th will score points for the global standings.
01:57In parallel, the top four teams will qualify for the sixth major
02:00and will also earn points for the global standings,
02:02according to their final placements in the competition.
02:06Stages 2 and 3 follow the same model.
02:09In Europe, we also want to determine who the best team in the region truly is.
02:14In November, the rankings of the three stages are combined
02:17to form the final rankings of the season within the region.
02:20The top four teams will battle it out for the title of European Champion
02:24during a special LAN event.
02:25On the other side of the final rankings,
02:27the last team will be relegated to the European Challenger League for the next season,
02:31while the team ranked 9th will compete in the relegation playoffs
02:35against the second team from the Challenger League.
02:37The European Challenger League is the entry point to the European League,
02:41but before going there, teams need to prove their skills on their national field.
02:45All the major European countries host a league with their best local teams.
02:49The national champion will get a slot in the upcoming European Challenger League.
02:53If the national champion is already in the European League,
02:56the runner-up takes their place.
02:58All the national champions, along with the winner of the European Open qualifier,
03:02will head to the European Challenger League.
03:05Only the top two will then have a chance to enter the next season of the European League.
03:12In short, the European Rainbow Six Esports program has an open structure,
03:16meaning that each and every player has the chance to compete
03:19from local community tournaments to the biggest stage of Rainbow Six Esports,
03:23the Six Invitational.
