Evacuated residents from East Arnhem Land communities are starting to return home for the first time since Tropical Cyclone Narelle hit. Remnants from the storm are still affecting the Northern Territory with hundreds without power and thousands more under boil water alerts.

00:55With the top end facing back to back natural disasters, it's likely going to be months before all flood affected

01:03Faced with a mammoth task ahead, authorities have called in reinforcements from interstate to help mop up the mess.
01:10I can report that the NT emergency service received 60 calls for assistance since early Saturday morning.
01:17And that local and interstate volunteers are standing by as we speak.
01:21And with wet season not over yet, they'll have their work cut out for them.
01:26We have a tropical low that is likely to form in the Arafura Sea later this week or over the
01:31weekend.
01:32There's still a very low chance that that will form into a cyclone.
