00:00The top five here on Peter's Power Rankings going into 2026 and number five, the New York Yankees.
00:06The Yankees are projected at 89 and 73, as are the Toronto Blue Jays at 89 and 73.
00:12And then the 390 win teams. Number three, the Seattle Mariners. Number two, the Philadelphia Phillies.
00:18And number one, the 160, which makes no sense because there are 162 games in a season.
00:24So pick which side you want to add two games to. The 160 L.A. Dodgers here.
00:31Can you just real quick give me the reasoning for why the Dodgers have two games canceled?
00:36I think it might be a typo because I put down 162. That's like what my projection is.
00:41So it might just be a little bit of a typo. But going into the top five, you know, with
00:46the Yankees,
00:47I think they will rank higher come the postseason when Garrett Cole and Carlos Rodon are fully tuned up.
00:57I think the Yankees, you know, they had the best offense in baseball last year, and I think they might.
01:03Again, I am a little bit concerned with the rotation until Cole Rodon and Schmidt come back right now.
01:09They're going with a four man rotation. They aren't really sure whether Luis Hill is going to make the team.
01:14So we'll see more updates on that later. And then the bullpen is weaker than it was in previous seasons.
01:19I think it's easy to forget that the Yankees won 94 games last year and were one of the best
01:24teams in baseball
01:25before they lost eventually to the Toronto Blue Jays, who took the L.A. Dodgers to seven games.
01:31So we're talking about some of the best teams in baseball. Love the Blue Jays.
01:36Losing Bichette stinks, but still a great team.
01:40Did they overperform a little bit in the regular season based on the run differential?
01:43And their expected wins? Yes. Do I still think that they're awesome? Absolutely. I have them ranked fourth.
01:49To be honest, if you're here looking for Dodger talk, you should probably go elsewhere because they're the undisputed top
01:55dog.
01:55Like, I don't think we need to spend three minutes on why the Dodgers are the best team in baseball.
02:00Like, they added Kyle Tucker this offseason.
02:02We could just do an entire hour on just like moaning and groaning of how awesome they're lined up and
02:08everything.
02:09That would be awesome radio. People would love it, and they would absolutely subscribe and make sure to come back.
02:14Oh, yeah. So good.
02:17I was like, yeah. No, that's the good stuff.
02:19Oh, my God. Kyle Tucker.
02:21Whoa.
02:22That's Freddie Freeman. Wow.
02:24I mean, yeah, they're awesome. They're way better than everybody else.
02:27The real conversation I want to get into here is your number two team.
02:30You've got the Phillies as the second best team in baseball.
02:344K, Peter.
02:35So let's remember six or seven months ago.
02:40Do the math and get us back to October.
02:42You and I stepped on this podcast, and we said the winner of the NLDS between the Phillies and the
02:47Dodgers would win the World Series.
02:50And then, fast forward four and a half months, mailbag question, Jack says, Phillies could be a mega dark horse
02:58to sell.
02:59And I start freaking out because I'm like, what in the world are we talking about here?
03:04Did the Phillies have the most sparkling offseason?
03:06No.
03:07Is it still a phenomenal team?
03:11Stacked with great players?
03:13Absolutely.
03:14So you say they lost Ranger Suarez.
03:17That certainly hurts, right?
03:19They won 96 games last year.
03:21I'm projecting 91 this year.
03:23However, you will get Wheeler back.
03:26Projected in April.
03:28Sanchez is as good as it gets.
03:30Lizardo is probably a top 15-20 pitcher in baseball.
03:33And Nola, right?
03:34You were just talking about the World Baseball Classic.
03:35Wasn't it nice seeing him shove for Team Italy?
03:38And then in the fifth time.
03:39Yeah, Italy Nola and Philly Nola might be a different guy.
03:41Could be a different guy.
03:42Or he could just be your run of the mill, 180 innings at a four ERA as the fourth starter.
03:46How many four starters in baseball can do that?
03:50Not many.
03:51And then the fifth is either one of the best pitching prospects in baseball or Tywin Walker.
03:56Not great.
03:56The bullpen.
03:57He's on the opening day roster.
03:59Yeah.
03:59Painter is on the opening day roster.
04:00So now you have one of the best pitching prospects in baseball is the five.
04:03The bullpen is even better than it was last year.
04:06Jose Alvarado returns from PEDs.
04:09Brad Keller, one of the best relievers in baseball last year.
04:11And they get Durant for a full year.
04:13And the lineup looks pretty similar.
04:15So what am I missing here?
04:17I'm still dropping them five wins from last year.
04:20Yeah.
04:21They were the second best team last year, according to you.
04:25And they have a lot of the same guys.
04:27Better bullpen, worse starting rotation a little bit.
04:31Now we're giving up?
04:32I hate when you use my words against me.
04:35That's not what they're meant to be.
04:36They're just supposed to be vomited into the ether and never to return.
04:40And for me to never think about again.
04:42I don't know, man.
04:46It's interesting.
04:47The Phillies, like, there are just so many guys on the other side of 30 that could have a downturn.
04:51Like, I see Travis Kelsey signs a three-year deal.
04:54And my first thought when Kelsey signs a three-year deal is, he's kind of like JT Real Muto.
05:00I don't know what that says about me.
05:02The thing is, Travis Kelsey is going to catch 60 balls next year.
05:05And JT Real Muto is going to be a two-win player again.
05:08Sure.
05:08That's fine, I guess.
05:10I don't know, man.
05:11So, again, Peter Apples, top five.
05:14It is at number five, the New York Yankees.
05:16At number four, the Toronto Blue Jays.
05:18Number three, the Seattle Mariners.
05:19Two, the Philadelphia Phillies.
05:20And number one, the L.A. Dodgers.
05:23I think there's a lot of stuff in the
