00:05Sirena. Situazione update, please.
00:07Getting visuals now, Captain.
00:14Quando you play the original Halo games,
00:15an explosion takes up the whole screen.
00:17So I'm going to kill a fast-moving purple thing
00:19and it will come at me and die.
00:21In Halo Wars, it's going to be a view from 40 feet up,
00:24so it's not going to be one explosion, it's going to be 20.
00:31One of the things we want to do with Halo Wars
00:32was tell the Halo story, show the Halo universe in a different way
00:36and actually bring strategy game into the console.
00:38In Halo Wars, you get to control everything.
00:41All the grunts and elites and brutes and choppers
00:44and ghosts and banshees and all these really cool vehicles
00:47plus a lot of the stuff we've added.
00:49You control heroes, you get to control Spartans,
00:51you get to control small armies of Spartans.
00:55Everything is under your control in a real-time strategy.
00:58We wanted something that the fans could see
01:00the things that they know and love
01:01from a different perspective.
01:05Spartan jacking is one of the best things in the game.
01:08They jump on top of the enemy tanks
01:10and they beat the crap out of the tank,
01:12they rip off the hatch, they toss out the driver,
01:15they hop inside and they take over that vehicle.
01:17And people are used to seeing that
01:19from a first-person shooter standpoint.
01:21Everything is very large.
01:22But we have all that same detail in Halo Wars.
01:24Some of the battles in the game are small
01:27and some of the battles in the game are really big.
01:29What's cool about that, at least in the campaign,
01:32is that's based on how you play.
01:34If you spend more time going to fight the Covenant,
01:37you may be dealing with a larger force
01:40than if you would have gotten there quicker.
01:43You get those choices, which is, again,
01:44the hallmark of a strategy game.
01:46How do I want to build my army out?
01:48And by the end, you've got, you know,
01:4912 or 15 scorpion tanks rolling across the landscape,
01:52or you could have 40 or 50 marines.
01:54And it's really kind of your choice.
01:57It is a game more focused about combat,
01:59which is certainly what the Halo fans will expect.
02:01People want to blow stuff up, myself included.
02:06It's a console game.
02:07Stuff blows up really, really well in Halo Wars,
02:09but there's also a game where you have to think.
02:12The new part of this game is for a lot of people
02:13is actually playing on RTS.
02:15In the FPS game, you go just using one single weapon
02:17and one single tactic.
02:18In our game, you actually have to employ multiple strategies
02:21on the screen at the same time.
02:22You're the general, training units
02:24and using those units to accomplish the mission.
02:28Commanding your armies,
02:29you're commanding your resource gathering or your economy.
02:31You manage resources, which you buy that army with,
02:34and you actually use those resources
02:36to upgrade and change your army
02:37to form a strategy that you will hopefully win with.
02:41There's a lot of different definitions for armies, right?
02:44There's like a teched-out army,
02:45which is maybe not as big an army,
02:47but you've spent a lot more of your resources
02:49on technologies and things like that,
02:51so it's a very powerful army.
02:52And that actually kind of maps into Halo Wars really well
02:54because in our game, the UNSC, the humans,
02:57they're the regimented army.
02:59But the Covenant, the sort of religious zealots,
03:02they can bring a lot more units to the fight,
03:04but each of those units is a little bit weaker.
03:11Halo Wars is a game about bases.
03:12It's a strategy game.
03:14I have to have a good base of operations,
03:16otherwise I can't field a very good army.
03:17You start with just one unit or a base,
03:20and by the end of the game,
03:21you've got an army of 240 infantry
03:23or five scorpion tanks.
03:25You'll choose to upgrade them
03:26and make your current scorpions even better.
03:29It's a lot of fun to be able to do that.
03:31I'm actually very happy with the way
03:33we've been able to represent
03:34all the economic decisions in Halo Wars.
03:37They're faster.
03:38It's easier to do.
03:39I'm not managing 75 villagers,
03:41chopping down trees.
03:41but the depth is still there.
03:43We didn't want people digging in the dirt.
03:45We felt that was not what
03:47a console player really wanted to do.
03:49We wanted the focus to be on combat.
03:50It's quick, it's easy to play,
03:52but it's very simple.
03:53I bounce back to my town,
03:55I get the supply pad upgrade,
03:56I'm back to the fight.
04:00It's just that long-scale look at the after war.
04:03It's not one v many, it's many v many.
04:05It's a fast-paced game.
04:06It's an adrenaline rush from the word go,
04:09but it has that strategy aspect to it
04:12that people haven't seen in the Halo universe before.
04:14So we'll see you wore that.
04:17Let's go.
04:18Let's go.
04:20Let's go.
04:23Let's go.
04:25Let's go.
04:27Let's go.
04:28Let's go.
04:28Grazie.
