TRIGGER FISH ATTACKS DIVERS
WITH VID
BY SALONI MATHUR
Watch this thrilling video of a triggerfish attacking a group of divers.
Luca Botha, a diving instructor from the Maldives, was swimming off the coast when they encountered this little fish.
The triggerfish can be seen with its fin up, trying to actively bite one of the divers.
The diver kept backing away from the fish to create a distance between the two.
Luca said: “The triggerfish attacked us because we had accidentally swam over its nest.
“It first attacked my friend, that’s when I started to record, then it started to chase me, and I swam away.
“With a triggerfish attack, always swim downwards to get away, not upwards, as it will bite you from behind.”
