राज्यसभा में Narendra Modi ने ऊर्जा सुरक्षा और वैश्विक चुनौतियों पर चर्चा करते हुए भारत की रणनीतिक तैयारियों का उल्लेख किया। उन्होंने बताया कि पिछले 11 वर्षों में देश ने 53 लाख मीट्रिक टन का रणनीतिक तेल भंडार तैयार किया है, जबकि 65 लाख मीट्रिक टन की अतिरिक्त क्षमता पर तेजी से काम चल रहा है। प्रधानमंत्री ने 70,000 करोड़ रुपये की लागत से शुरू की गई जहाज निर्माण परियोजना का भी जिक्र किया, जिसका उद्देश्य विदेशी जहाजों पर निर्भरता कम करना है। उन्होंने कहा कि वर्तमान में भारत का 90 प्रतिशत से अधिक तेल विदेशी जहाजों के जरिए आता है, जो संकट के समय जोखिम बढ़ाता है। साथ ही सरकार संवाद और कूटनीतिक प्रयासों के जरिए कच्चे तेल और एलपीजी की आपूर्ति बनाए रखने के लिए लगातार काम कर रही है।
In the Rajya Sabha, Narendra Modi discussed energy security and global challenges, highlighting India’s strategic preparedness. He stated that over the past 11 years, India has built a strategic petroleum reserve of 5.3 million metric tonnes, while work is progressing rapidly on an additional capacity of 6.5 million metric tonnes.
The Prime Minister also mentioned a shipbuilding project worth ₹70,000 crore, aimed at reducing dependence on foreign vessels. He noted that more than 90% of India’s oil is currently transported via foreign ships, which increases risks during global crises.
He added that the government is continuously working through dialogue and diplomatic efforts to ensure steady supplies of crude oil and LPG. In recent days, several shipments carrying crude oil and LPG have reached India, and such efforts will continue in the future.
