00:13The Arena
00:13At Blizzcon 2015, we are giving a first look at an exciting new mode currently in development for Heroes of
00:18the Storm called The Arena.
00:23When considering a new mode for the game, we thought it would be cool to create a play experience that
00:28you could never really prepare for.
00:30Something that was quick and easy to jump into, but would require even more flexibility and adaptation out of players.
00:36Imagine being presented a random hero, then pushed into a 5 minute non-stop team fight built around a single
00:42map objective, make that a best of 3 rounds experience, and toss an extra dash of loco on top? Welcome
00:49to the Arena.
00:50When you enter the Arena, your team will be given 45 seconds to choose Heroes out of the 3 random
00:56options presented to each player on your team.
01:00In the Arena, you're not limited to the Heroes in your current roster, but have access to every Hero in
01:05the game.
01:05It's probably worth a moment to consider how your team could best choose Heroes that will augment each other, and
01:11at about that time, your first round will begin.
01:14There is no time for talents or experience in this mode. Once players have spawned into a round, they will
01:20be given a single choice. Which Heroic will you choose?
01:24Strategize these choices if you can, but every second will count as the map objective is the true key to
01:30victory.
01:31Arena maps have a compact layout built around a single objective similar to what you would find in the main
01:37game.
01:37Gather seeds by destroying plant terrors, or capture temples and destroy the other team's core.
01:43Every new round, the layout of the map will change slightly to keep you on your toes.
01:47And we've even shortened death timers and made healing at the Hall of Storms instantaneous as a fitting adjustment to
01:54the Arena's intensity.
01:56Keep in mind that there is a lot we still want to do with the mode, so you can expect
02:00a great deal of change as we continue to iterate and add additional features.
02:05As always, thanks for being here with us, and we'll see you in the Nexus.
