00:23Hey everybody, my name is Tim Schwalk
00:25and I'm producer on Heroes of Ruined in Space
00:27I'm going to give you a quick demo of the game today
00:29Heroes of Ruined is a completely original, feature-rich action RPG
00:32created from the ground up exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS
00:36I'm really excited to show you a little bit about the game
00:38In this demo I can choose from the Vindicator and the Gunslinger
00:41The Vindicator is really cool because, you know, it's really strong
00:43He has this giant sword
00:44I'm going to go ahead and choose him for the purposes of this demo
00:47You can see here I'm customizing my Vindicator
00:49We offer so many choices that I can make him look extremely unique
00:53If four of us wanted to choose the exact same character in the same game
00:55we could do that and we'd still look visually unique
00:59So I'm looking pretty cool here, I'm going to go ahead and start the game
01:03My quest is to track down the dangerous Leviathan and defeat him once and for all
01:06I'm going to speak to Solon, he's one of our main story characters in the game
01:10and he's going to give me a few more details about the quest
01:17Goodbye
01:18Thank you Solon
01:20Okay, so here we are in combat
01:21You can see these enemies have a variety of attacks
01:24I've got to especially be careful with the guy over here on the right, the Witch Doctor
01:27As you can see it says he casts Poison Clouds
01:29And sure enough, there's a Poison Cloud right there
01:31So I want to get rid of him as quickly as I can
01:33These guys aren't too difficult, I'm just using a combination of my default attacks and my charge
01:39You can play any game up to four players, either Wi-Fi or locally
01:43We have voice over IP communication, so you can talk to your buddies over Wi-Fi
01:47One second, because I remember Solon said the pirate captain would be in the ship somewhere
01:50I'll get back to multiplayer in a second
01:51Here he is
01:53Okay, so this is Captain Skullrot
01:54The mysterious ghost captain of the pirate ship here
01:59Solon mentioned that I'd have to get a song from him and have to learn that song in order to
02:02call the Leviathan
02:05Okay, now that red effect around the screen is when I'm in danger
02:09I need to use one of my potions there
02:11It looks like he has a fear ability I need to be careful of
02:14Whenever you see my character do that, he's hit me with his fear effect or his fear power
02:17And I have no control over my actions and I'm fleeing him in desperation
02:22But yeah, he got me again
02:24Never fear, I will take Skullrot out, I'm actually quite good at this
02:28Great! So not only did I defeat him, I also leveled up
02:31Meaning I now have access to additional powers and updated stats
02:34So basically right now I can assign points that I've earned into Might Vigorous Soul
02:38I'm putting mine into Might because I really want to increase the damage that I'm dealing
02:41I'm also going to come in here and I'm going to purchase an additional power
02:43When you level up, you earn a point that you can put into a power you've already earned to power
02:47it up
02:47Or you can buy an additional power
02:49And right now I'm probably going to buy one to help me do some crowd control
02:52So I'm going to get the radiant wave power, this is really cool
02:54Oh, I've got to read the pirate's log
02:57And right now I'm learning the song to call the Leviathan
03:00And now from what Solon told me, all I have to do is find the mouthpiece to the horn
03:05And the Tiber Hornblower has that, so we've got to go off and find him
03:08Another thing we're really proud of is our dynamic dungeon system
03:11We could replay the same demo 20 times, you'd actually see 20 different level layouts
03:15Not only that, the enemy encounter groups are random as well
03:18So you know I could join my buddy in a dungeon I've already played
03:20And still find it fresh and exciting because I get a new experience
03:23And speaking of random, we also have secret areas, I just found a secret area
03:26And these are sprinkled throughout all the different levels as well
03:29Lots of great loot in here, you know, we can have enough in this one room for an entire party
03:33of four
03:34So I'm going to run through here and grab all the loot I can
03:37This is one of my favorite parts because we have no shortage of loot
03:40You'll find over 80,000 different items in our game
03:43Believe me, you'll never find them all, even though you may try, as I do
03:47I want to talk a little bit more about multiplayer as well
03:49Let's say someone were to jump into the game that I'm in right now
03:51That's completely possible, we offer seamless drop-in, drop-out multiplayer
03:54It doesn't matter what level they are, it doesn't matter how much progress they have in our story
03:58They can be at the end of the game, they can be at the very beginning of the game
04:00You can join my game, it's going to automatically update the difficulty on the fly
04:04And you know, that's going to continue happening as people drop in and out of the game
04:07It's going to ensure a really fun experience, regardless of the number of heroes involved
04:10That's something we're really, really excited about
04:13So here we are, we've found the Tiber Horn Blower
04:16This is the horn we have to grab to be able to summon the Leviathan
04:20Okay, well it's going to be a little bit trickier with these Hell Jaws here
04:25So I'm going to use a mix of some of my new and old powers
04:27So you saw right there was a new power I purchased earlier with my skill point
04:30And he keeps blowing that Blastic Horn and making these guys enraged
04:34So I'm going to try and get him as best as I can
04:35But as you can see, he actually jumps around the level as I'm chasing him around
04:41I've got to stay clear of these guys, these guys are awfully strong
04:44So I'm going to also try to mix in my other power
04:46The really cool thing about my default power with the Vindicator
04:48Is that it'll actually stun whichever enemy I hit with it
04:52You probably noticed I had to use a health potion right there
04:54We've got health forces mapped to left on the d-pad, energy to right
04:57So they're right there next to you and really easy to access whenever you need them
05:00Alright, take that
05:04Okay, just you and me now
05:08There we go, so I've got him stunned and now I can just wail on him with my sword
05:13Almost got him
05:16Not so dangerous now without the Hell Jaws, huh?
05:19Great, so now that we've defeated the Hornblower
05:20I'm going to grab the horn
05:23There we go
05:24So now that I've got the horn, we just need to track down the Leviathan
05:26And we can see about summoning him
05:28Okay, so here we are
05:29The Lair of the Leviathan
05:31Alright, so I've got to put the mouthpiece on this giant shell
05:34And then play the song we learned from the Pirate Captain
05:49This is about the time you've got to be wondering what you've gotten yourself into
05:58As you can see the Leviathan is huge
06:00He's a lot of fun to fight against as well
06:04Unfortunately, we're not going to feature the entire Leviathan fight in this demo today
