00:23Welcome to the Jonathan Rush show we've got a fabulous show lined up here tonight wait till
00:27you see who's in my green room first up an incredible actor and a phenomenal race car driver
00:33he's the star of one of my favorite shows of all time grey's anatomy it's patrick dempsey
00:48alongside patrick this evening are these next two are pretty much british royalty you'll know him from
00:53eastenders rivals and movies like marching powder she won the nation's hearts by winning both love
00:58island and sas who dares wins it's danny dyer and danny dyer
01:08we've got a comedian who i've watched grow up from being an awkward gangly stand-up
01:15to an awkward gangly movie star is the always hilarious mr jack whitehall
01:28it's a nice thing to say i'm saying that you're vulnerable like the rest of us unbelievable
01:35we've got music and chat from a brilliant british musician and actor she's nominated for artist of
01:40the year at next week's brits and one of her tracks was the unofficial lionesses anthem which helped
01:45spur our team on to victory it is rebecca lucy taylor aka self-esteem
01:58have you all been enjoying the winter olympics this year
02:03well you may be enjoying it and i'm enjoying it but none of us are enjoying it as much as
02:08the athletes themselves because take a look at this news story olympic villages won out of condoms
02:14of the 2026 games future higher than anticipated demand okay so their reports this is the report
02:21that the at the olympic committee they supplied 10 000 condoms for 2871 athletes and they ran out in
02:29three days i've done the math so that's nearly three and a half condoms each over the three days
02:36though any adults know those half condoms aren't that much use that's more than once a day each
02:42they should win a gold medal for that alone but remember maybe it isn't just sex because they are
02:48for protection in other ways as well for example i think you might want to slip one on if you
02:52were
02:52taking part in this event look at that you see just to be safe that is the double lube sorry
02:59the double
02:59luge but my favorite thing from the winter olympics hasn't been the curling which i've been loving it
03:05hasn't been the skeleton bob i've been loving it's been snoop dog snoop dog is out there supporting
03:10the us team and here we have some footage of him trying out some olympic sports as well have a
03:15look
03:15look at this just like that just like that yeah you can even make gestures into it if you want
03:22like that
03:38there he is slipping on gin and juice let's get my first guest that shall we we have to start
03:47the
03:47show a hilarious comedian and the nation's favorite father and daughter duo will you welcome jack whitehall and

04:45just a short while ago congratulations and um and i know that big danny was particularly happy uh
04:55so look at me look so happy yeah yeah because uh the young man you married to he is the
05:00now because
05:00i don't know much about football he's he's the captain of the west ham football team he's my hero this
05:05man yeah and uh and she fucking married him it's just incredible to me so it's just it's just incredible
05:11i was jewett really because yeah you were jewett well yeah because you ain't a first fella is it you
05:16know what i mean right yeah you deserved someone like jarrah kiss the few frogs and i got my prince
05:24yeah yeah you really did and how hard was it to stop your father going on the honeymoon with you
05:29seeing
05:30as he yeah really hard you just yeah you just adore him a lot don't you you always want to
05:36and we were saying before um he wanted to tuck him in bed if jarrah's up for sleep he goes
05:40i might go
05:41upstairs and just roll him over and just check that you're going to come home you're going to find
05:46him spooning him upstairs no i did want the first answer of him as well but uh you're not allowed
05:53well not according to the beckhams so so what was the father of the bride what was the speech like
06:03on the wedding what was his speech like it was brilliant it was so good really natural it didn't
06:07feel like you did you plan it no i i did bring me bafta and i did it because i
06:13went to open with a
06:14joke which said like this today's not about me but and then i pulled out my bafta and look the
06:20speech was
06:21written for me really i mean it was just um you know it was just me sort of you know
06:24just it's
06:25such a beautiful day as a father anyway so um you know i didn't want to get too heavy so
06:30uh we had
06:31a bit of a laugh and a joke about it didn't we jared's speech was amazing he was choking me
06:35up i
06:35didn't want to get choked up and that you know what i mean uh jack's got a big day coming
06:38up jack
06:38is getting married finally to the woman he's been engaged to for some while now a very decent amount
06:44of time yeah yeah how long have you been engaged for jack two years two years okay okay yeah
06:48you imagine but why wait so long i'm always curious just to wait no because i'm just curious
06:53i hadn't popped the question and now you're trying to do it again but when you engage it's like you
06:57engage you might as well just do it quick don't you think we had a baby well congratulations has
07:02she put you up to this no no now but you're looking forward to presumably you're looking for have you
07:06made plans for the wedding do you know what you're doing is it is yeah yeah no i'm very excited
07:11it's
07:11going to be great and it's like also um yeah the sort of first time that our families are ever
07:15coming
07:16together which i'm looking forward to them all meeting each other now how's that going to be
07:19because your families i believe are from somewhat different worlds aren't they uh yes yeah no like
07:23i my my my family are it will come as no surprise to you a bunch of sort of you
07:29know gilet wearing
07:31chinless toffs and then her family are like proper cockney they're proper all west ham fans yeah proper
07:39salt the earth so our uh yeah i mean her uncle gary makes danny look like jacob reese mogg
07:51it's going to be like a sort of mash-up of you know downton abbey and east enders i can't
07:57wait
07:58uh here's the weird thing i don't know if it's true you just came back from holiday is that right
08:02yeah you went so where did you go somewhere nice wouldn't it where did you go to uh it's just
08:05i went the
08:06the maldives yeah you can say it no one's going to judge it it was a jet two holiday to
08:12you came back from the maldives and you bumped into someone out there yeah would you tell us about
08:17what how this unfolded well obviously because i you know i tell quite a lot of jokes about people
08:22um on shows like the brits and i'm always worried that i will then bump into these people and i
08:27was on
08:27this holiday and i was in the restaurant with roxy having a lovely dinner and craig david walked into
08:32the restaurant and i was like oh no i've said so many jokes about him this is so awkward and
08:38then
08:38he started walking over towards the table i was like oh my god he's going to come over and he's
08:41going to say something roxy head down head down he walked over to the table he was like hey roxy
08:45it's
08:46so good to see you how are you and roxy had a little chat with him he's like oh it's
08:50been too long
08:50yeah lovely to see you bye didn't even address me and just walked off i'll turn to roxy i was
08:55like what the
08:55how was that oh yeah me and craig we used to hang out back in the day i was like
09:01which day it's
09:03important monday tuesday sunday five any other day of the week we've got an issue
09:13what day was it after the state of interest first day um through to saturday
09:20uh maybe it's a little danny now just to be clear uh danny you've got three children i believe you've
09:26got uh is it santiago yeah summer and star is that why different ages of course it sounds lovely
09:31lovely names um i'm asking you what big danny's like as a grandfather to them how does that work
09:35out oh no you know what he loves them he always says he misses the twins and then he sees
09:40them for
09:41half hour when he's ready for them to go ain't ya we call them the terribles yeah because they they
09:47really do they come around mark gaff and they smash it to pieces do they call you are you grandpa
09:52granddad granddad granddad yeah they are they as soon as when you ring and everyone's like granddad
09:57they love they love him although i i just finished rivals last week so i've just took my mustache i've
10:02had a mustache for 10 months yeah and so i don't think they're going to know i am i mean
10:05they're going
10:06to be i mean they love the tash well you did look better with the tash you've got to be
10:09said well
10:09you know i had to go did you like that why did it have to go do you mean why
10:13why did i have a
10:14fucking mustache but you look you didn't look so hard to pull off you look great great with a
10:20mustache not for me darling you look like the best i need to grow a beard i need to hide
10:23these
10:23chins and wine that's why i need to go look at that there but not not for me do you
10:27know what i'm
10:27saying no but it looks great it's like every 70s porn star you've ever seen perfect look yeah yeah no
10:33you look great there but you're doing another series of rivals aren't you you've just finished
10:36it mate yeah oh because that was so good it was so good it was so much fun yeah it's
10:43amazing it's
10:45great i think the first six come out in may um but yeah well i mean we've it's so much
10:51better this
10:51time we're really exploring yeah you know all this bollocks which is uh freddy and lizzie yeah i don't
10:56think uh you'll be able to watch much of it yeah there was a scene on the last series it
11:01must be weird do
11:02you if you're watching your father in an act of let's face it passionate love making with a
11:06stranger with a mustache with a mustache yeah i don't like yeah the love making i don't watch and
11:11what do you do do you just it's not really love making i'm not going to know it's it's filth
11:17yeah yeah probably best not to go there it's like he's at the winter olympics yeah
11:25do you warn danny in advance when there seems that they come up do you say maybe don't watch this
11:29one
11:29no of course i don't i just i just the last one they weren't that much no i got away
11:33of it last
11:34time yeah no i don't get away of it this time let me tell you that yeah it's a bit
11:39weird it's part
11:39of the job it's a weird thing to do you've got you know got to pay your council tax you
11:43know
11:46here's the exciting news jackie's uh i'll talk about this ballet on but jack's hosting the brits
11:49again uh which is on next weekend on atv and jack is the best host that shows ever had thank
11:56you
11:56you are amazing doing that we'll talk about later but the good news is jack's going to be back doing
11:59stand-up comedy yes uh next year yes yeah yeah okay okay there's the tour it's going to be called
12:07bad influence you can get tickets now i guess but it'll be january and february 2027 uh you started
12:12working on the material you know what you're going to be talking about yeah yeah i was i was upstate
12:15on stage on a in a comedy club last night and i've started yeah writing the show and yeah we'll
12:20just be
12:20kind of talking about all the stuff that's happened in my life since i toured last which is getting
12:25married and having a kid and yeah a lot's happened in my life so i feel like i'm ready to
12:29get back
12:29up on stage and start are you nervous because you haven't done a big tour for quite a while have
12:34you you've been mainly acting i mean yeah yeah yeah so no there's there's definitely a few cobwebs
12:39to blow off and the first couple of times you get back up on stage you're like i think i
12:42might be
12:43shit at this and you sort of slowly you know rebuild your confidence and then start uh writing it but
12:49i
12:50love it i feel so at home on stage you know i i really enjoy acting and i love being
12:54able to go
12:54off and make a tv show or a movie but there's nothing that beats the thrill of like being on
12:59stage in front of a live audience and just being able to say whatever you want it's it's the best
13:04well you've done a lot of theater of course haven't you back in the day do you miss doing that
13:07as
13:07opposed to tv work it's very humbling i'll tell you that now i think i'm due it again uh last
13:12play
13:13i've done was seven years ago you shit your pants every night there's no two ways about that you
13:18have a very different way of describing things it makes you feel alive you know what i mean it's
13:23like it's nowhere to hide the money's shite yeah so it's not a monthly thing i mean stand-up's a
13:29whole different thing for sure yeah so um respect for it okay so the exciting news is uh danny and
13:35danny are working together they've worked together already on the show which they finished filming
13:38uh it's starting on tuesday on sky it's called dyer's caravan park yes okay you can guess what
13:46it's about from the title i think but tell us what what prompted this and what the story is so
13:50yeah
13:51i used to go to that was my that was my thing and i used to love it in the
13:5380s i realized when i
13:55got involved you know how difficult it was you know i mean i started the show resenting it a little
14:00bit really what have i signed up for right because i was busy doing rivals i was shooting rivals five
14:04days and i come back on a friday and then saturday and sunday we were doing lays down and i
14:08just
14:08thought oh no this is really this is real i mean this is no bollocks about this like so um
14:13i made a
14:13lot of mistakes yeah he did well not that many but you weren't good at gardening at all really
14:19you weren't yeah you didn't know we've got mark up there who's a great lawnmower
14:27uh it's a lot of fun to watch i'm really enjoying it i've only seen the first four i don't
14:31know
14:31how many there are in this series um well let's have a look at the clip this is called dyer's
14:35caravan
14:36park okay and it's on sky have a look at this where would you start jim what's the older wherever
14:42you want really mate go crazy i mean i'm fucking desperate to smash that window come out you'll
14:50build we usually take it off of a screwdriver only you've just made more work but it's fine
14:56right this is a start let's take this little thing off go on that's up it's up there you
15:02fucking snake you don't do that what just grab something i like smashing things give it a clap
15:11ridiculous that works so i've not got muscles like you
15:17i don't like that i'm robbing someone's ass i'm not strong enough of course you are you're a strong
15:23independent woman i've told you i love this just go crackers you know look mug
15:31you're getting amongst it you're getting amongst it you're rolling up your sleeves you're doing the
15:36work but you're a reality superstar because you won love island and you won sas as well yeah
15:42amazing can we can we can we acknowledge what she's done on that show i'll sob my heart out
15:50yeah i can't believe she's done it yeah it was three three uh there's only three of you three of
15:55them

16:46welcome back to the show let's get my next guest out i'm so excited to see a fantastic actor

16:53brilliant memory of a
16:55killer it is patrick dempsey
17:15patrick it's lovely to have you back on the show thank you for joining us thanks for having me and
17:19i believe congratulations are in order uh because since last time i saw patrick last time we saw

17:59one of
18:00those people who i'm not just saying this you appear to get better looking every year
18:03my wife's a makeup artist it helps tremendously fantastic that's what you need yes indeed um okay
18:08danny you were nominated uh for sexiest male at the 2014 it's not the same class but you were nominated
18:14so why are we bringing it up john i want to know 2014 with the british soap awards yeah and
18:20you
18:20didn't win danny mac won no i got nominated 14 so i'm not for sexiest male and i never
18:27fucking won one on that soap awards right right so no i'm all right i've had a good run with
18:31all
18:31that but look you know i've nicked a befta yeah you got a befta yeah uh no i don't oh
18:34okay fine i am
18:35presenting that
18:39yeah but he's sexy look at him yeah let's ask jack have you ever been considered sexy what have you
18:45ever been considered for sexy award no i won the 2015 rear of the year never the face wait is
18:53that a
18:53real award that is a genuine award really congratulations no i didn't win it oh were you
18:59nominated or you just put your own name in the hat no no no no i don't think you can
19:03self-nominate
19:04career of the year i just send in a picture or maybe you do with the whatsapp groups you're in
19:14danny little danny is it weird knowing your daddy's considered a sex symbol no i think it's i've been
19:21so when i remember when i first started school everyone used to sat to me and i didn't really
19:24know how to respond to it good on you you know well cheers for a pity party being nominated is
19:32like amazing you know like yeah just because you didn't win it doesn't matter it's a big part of
19:38the game really yeah so you've got to take it on the chins yeah you might get it at 60.
19:4210 more years
19:43we were talking earlier about jack's getting married we talked about danny's and i met your
19:50lovely wife downstairs you just mentioned her jillian and you've been married how many years 27
19:5427 years congratulations she's lovely and charming yes uh memories from your wedding day what was
20:02that like uh not much well we had we we were there was a lot of alcohol consumed good but
20:08the problem
20:08was i recommend you're you're getting married soon yeah yeah do not let your photographers drink the
20:14problem was ours were so intoxicated that we didn't get one single picture and everything that we did get
20:20it was blurry and the best ones were all the ones that were sort of the little cameras that you
20:24left
20:24on the table and that was from a friend of ours who just snapped it with their camera it was
20:29a
20:30disaster so don't do it yeah it's hard to believe it was 27 years ago yeah my children now my
20:36daughter's
20:37turning 24 this week my twins twin boys are now 19. oh wow it goes by very quickly yeah do
20:43they like your work
20:44do they watch your tv work your films do they enjoy what you've done they're they're very direct with
20:49their opinions um you know they have the same situation that you did because you know the the
20:54character that i play on gray's anatomy a lot of people liked and they didn't quite know how to handle
20:59that um you've mentioned gray's anatomy of course and we should talk about when i i've got a confession
21:03make when i last interviewed you and i was talking to you about it and i hadn't really watched the
21:06show
21:07okay and then i started watching it so i met you and i liked you and i have now almost
21:11i've watched
21:12almost every single episode there's only four i haven't watched you know how many episodes they've
21:17brought out so far uh to date i think there's something like 400. 458 right i did 261 i believe
21:24well i've watched 454. i didn't watch it that much that's nearly 20 solid days of my life
21:30i'm so sorry you're four and you only missed four so that you could watch the four episodes of danny
21:37dyer's caravan that's not how something works well well done but it's a great it's a great show what
21:45a great thing to be part of um yes now the character you play derek shepherd yes aka uh dr
21:51mcdreamy mcdreamy
21:53yes what's the uh the weirdest time or place that someone who's referred to you as mcdreamy
22:03there was a gentleman when i was in the bathroom who had said something to me
22:08and i was quite shocked but he said do you mind if i take a picture for my wife and
22:12i was like
22:12not right now but thank you that was probably one of the weirdest times i'm so sorry i was a
22:18little
22:18starstruck she asked i should have waited i should have waited but it's a weird thing that about
22:26playing a doctor being known as a doctor you know because i i would probably trust you more than my
22:32gp right now right that's right and did you come away thinking you knew medical stuff just from having
22:37performed as a doctor i might i remember when my daughter was very young she had fallen she had
22:42split her head open we were in a rural community i went into a local hospital and i wasn't quite
22:49sure
22:49about the doctor i wasn't really sure he was going to be able to do the stitches and i said
22:55you know
22:56why don't we do the liquid glue and he's like you're right let's do that wow and i felt like
23:01okay i
23:02diagnosed the problem i'm very good it was a skull injury i was a neurosurgeon i was right in my
23:08element
23:08you were the best nurse and i assisted in the procedure because i wasn't sure there's i didn't
23:13want her to have you know a scar yeah hopefully that was reflected in the bill when you finally
23:17got it no it was not hopefully he paid you um one of the things i want to talk about
23:22your wasting
23:22because i'm really interested in in your love for that but i also want to mention one of the things
23:27i
23:27love about you is i know how much you give back and i want to ask you about the dempsey
23:31center which
23:31you set up yes the dempsey center was inspired by my mother's cancer journey she had ovarian cancer
23:37over 12 reoccurrences and there was this program called uh you know it was basically wrap around
23:44care taking care of people who've been impacted in cancer by cancer and that's what it's about the
23:48dempsey center is that was inspired by mother we don't treat the disease we treat the person holistically
23:55and there's also a wonderful place here the maggie's it does the same here in london i believe here in
24:00london and
24:00and around the country that does similar work um and you know you come out of uh the surgery and
24:06your your treatment you may be cured but you're not healed and that's where we come in if anyone
24:12here is a cancer survivor i'd love to say congratulations i don't know if there's anybody here
24:18which is great um and it's very scary and after the treatment the real healing begins and that's what
24:27it touches so many people's lives unfortunately but actually to know that there's organizations like
24:32yours and i know and it's all free the service effort all the services are provided at no cost
24:36well that's lovely of you it's really it's wonderful let's talk about your wasting a bit because i know
24:41i mentioned earlier on that that's kind of am i right thinking that's the first love of your life
24:45a bigger love than acting even i did le mans four times and how long is the endurance race uh
24:5024 hours
24:5025 hours non-stop driving yes well you have three drivers so you do different stints yeah wow jack i
24:56believe can't drive why it's a life choice okay some are born to drive others are born to be driven
25:13i hate that i can't drive and now i'm a parent as well it feels so emasculating and i need
25:20to
25:20now that i'm a father otherwise school runs yeah i know exactly i'm never gonna see her at boarding
25:27school if i don't learn to try patrick have you stopped racing now uh i have because of the show
25:40well let's talk about memory of a killer you just mentioned it's a show they they don't let you drive
25:44fast away from it but they let you drive on screen right i was watching it and i thought okay
25:48i know
25:49one of the reasons you did this is because you want to do these fast racing scenes the chase yes
25:52absolutely uh i've managed to see the first four i think only the first three have actually dropped
25:56but tell us what it's about for those who haven't seen it yet why do you only watch four episodes
26:03it's more than i've watched of any of your show
26:09this is genuinely how friends
26:13like couples therapy we're in right now we're working um it's about a uh he's double life uh he's
26:22an assassin and at the same time he's a suburban dad who's a traveling salesman and he also has
26:27early onset dementia which is an amazing twist in this because his brother also has it yes more
26:33advanced and so he's seeing what might become of him let's have a lot of trailer this is on prime
26:38video now it's called memory of a killer have a look at this so what do you do i sell
26:46photocopiers
26:49my mind is getting worse
26:53you work for me royalties everything i think my dad seemed a little off lately your father always
27:00seems a little off
27:10you mentioned though because i guess primarily people would think of you because he was quite a
27:14romantic character in grey's anatomy and because early on in your career it was a lot of romantic
27:20comedies yes are there other genres that you would want to do that people would perhaps be surprised to
27:25see you in um you know i haven't done a western i think it'd be fun to do a western
27:28yes but i can't
27:30ride a horse see can you ride a horse oh yes that is where i come into my own that's
27:37how i plan to do
27:38the school run on a horse so we're going to take a break but don't go anywhere because we'll be
27:43joined
27:44out here by rebecca lucy taylor who's been nominated for artist of the year at the brits and she'll be
27:48performing at the end of the show as well so don't go away welcome back to the show let's hear
28:04my next
28:04guest out here she's one of the most exciting british musicians of the last few years it is the
28:17fabulous self-esteem
28:32now i feel i feel one saying self-esteem because of course that isn't your name you're actually
28:36going to be rebecca isn't it yeah uh so do i call you rebecca i can call you rebecca to
28:40chat yeah
28:40please it was a mistake to call myself someone else really why did that come about why did you start
28:45performing your self-esteem uh because i'm pretentious and i i didn't have any self-esteem when i started
28:53it and i would say now i have almost too much so you know it was very manifesting i'm going
28:58to call my
28:58next band uh yeah loads of money or uh or like parents happy with me your parents must be happy
29:08they are my mom and dad love it i was going to ask you about people who'd influence you and
29:12people who
29:13then you discover have heard your music so i know there was one person particular that you grew up
29:17admiring and then you found out that they'd been listening to you yes i'm trying to think of a joke
29:21really quickly my dad um no madonna came to my gig that was wow yeah i mean it was amazing
29:28and she
29:28is very much why i yeah like i got into her i sort of you know you go in your
29:34deep dives and i got very
29:35very into her and it was a big catalyst of why i left the band i was in and why
29:39i went solo so the
29:40night she came to my gig i thought oh because celebrities are always exciting i'm very excited
29:45i i have to respect to everyone else but i'm so excited i love you i love you you're like
29:52the
29:52yeah you're a fan of little danny as well though oh my god yes the great the great i i'm
29:59a big
29:59island head i love i love love island it's my very i'm sorry i feel no don't worry about it
30:05that's
30:05i'm fine i'm fine that's good i'm all right i'm good look at his head of air he's all right
30:12what about low self-esteem
30:19i'm a big fan of your work when you announced me as the word yeah i've got you i'm on
30:26i'm reading
30:27out your name how are you going to introduce self-esteem which comes on stage because you're
30:30actually you often get in trouble with the the record labels and the acts don't you when you bring them
30:34on stage because your jokes are quite you know pretty hard-hitting some people yeah i mean most
30:38people are pretty good about it but every now and again you do get someone that kicks off i had
30:42one
30:42guy that actually went over and changed the autocue wow yeah he was he he was adamant that i introduced
30:50him as one of the biggest rock stars on the planet and i was like obviously i'm not doing that
30:54because
30:55you know it would be libel i could i can't i had some joke which he didn't approve of and
31:01then he was
31:02he was found in the in the auto queue trying to delete it and put in the biggest rock star
31:07on
31:07the planet because he didn't want me to introduce him as the zen pick jonathan ross or whatever i had
31:12well let's face it no one wants to be able to do something
31:17uh rebecca what was it like for you when you first got recognized by like fans in the street because
31:21i know
31:22you spent a long time working hard to get where you wanted to be so that must have been a
31:26pretty
31:26exciting moment well yeah i don't really get i've got a sweet spot of sort of like i'm not very
31:32famous
31:32but i like i get to do what i want to do which is really nice but um well i'm
31:36not famous am i i don't
31:38know well thank you jonathan ross here i am yeah i'll win the jungle next have you been asked to
31:46do any of
31:47uh i get asked but i know for a fact that i'm the lowest price point so when i feel
31:53like the
31:54highest price point yes i shall do it because i'll need a new conservatory roof no you're back
32:00patrick have you ever done yes
32:05patrick have you ever done any reality tv would you
32:07uh-oh i know we've just met but i don't think you need to
32:15unless they do a celebrity naked attraction
32:20no i have no desire actually okay
32:23do you i did a bit i did celebrity traitors oh yeah danny yeah is it true that you are
32:31doing
32:31celebrity traitors because your name's come up a lot in the press
32:35that's absolute bollocks i don't know why i don't know why they're saying it i swear to you
32:39now i'm not even lying no one's asked me greater i'm not double i swear can you wait till i'm
32:45on
32:45it you've got listen if they ask me i'll do it but no one's asked me no but if they
32:48ask you and you
32:49say is would you do it i like watching it see i'd i'd have a right laugh on that let's
32:54be real i'd
32:55want to be a traitor yeah yeah yeah yeah the thing is though come here you need some time
33:01i'd be better than i thought but i'm thinking you're lying and that is exactly what a traitor
33:06would do listen i swear i'm like a traitor talking to me yeah but you wouldn't tell the truth would
33:13you it's not this is a good audition tape for him yeah yeah this lying is impressive i swear oh
33:20fucking hell i'm not i'm not that you'll see when it comes on i'm not on it
33:28or is he um and danny are you gonna do strictly again because you were in it before and you
33:35were
33:35i thought okay you're gonna go all the way and then you had an injury of course yeah i hurt
33:40my
33:40thought i mean i'd love to do it again so you would say yes if they asked yes if they
33:44rung me
33:45i would answer the phone yeah yeah you didn't make it yes i was devastated it was it was hell
33:51for
33:51me when i hurt my thought i was so sad but survived sas who dares wins right
33:57with chains around her neck the fucking quick step fucked up
34:03she won sas who dares wins jonathan not that you'd know because you only watched four episodes
34:09do you know that everyone thinks i do every year every year my twitter absolutely blows up with
34:14people thinking that i'm on the mask singing because you guess me every fucking i was in a sauna the
34:20other day and this man looked over at me and he just went sloth i was like i didn't even
34:24know
34:26rebecca i read somewhere and this might be a beneficial evening for you and this might be a kind of
34:31like
34:31uh a good time to make this connection that you were hoping to get your mum or your parents a
34:37caravan
34:38i'm mad for caravan oh yeah yeah we went to filey every year in this in the caravan it's i
34:42can't
34:43i feel so calm when i'm in them i'm never i'm never happier than when i'm in a caravan so
34:48my
34:48mum and dad i was like i'm gonna i'm gonna get so rich i'm gonna buy a caravan they're about
34:5240k for
34:53but probably some of the fucking 80 grand down there so so i found out quickly that they weren't
34:58gonna get one any time we'll get after you both we'll give you a discount oh yeah nice one patrick
35:03have you been caravanning have you had a call them trailers trailers so i and yes uh caravan as you
35:09call them when uh i we would spend you know 15 16 hours on set i got tired of these
35:15little boxes that
35:16they put you in so i bought an airstream oh they're beautiful the silver ones yeah so i had a
35:19beautiful
35:20little airstream and they are just a work of art and then we also had uh one at the house
35:25that was
35:26restored from the 1950s and i love them i think they're they're just so cozy they're wonderful
35:32if you quit them i don't know yeah they're a little up there
35:40jack have you ever seen the caravan yes the vip section of glastonbury
35:48have you been calivaning yes i i had a very normal upbringing did you go calivaning yeah once a
35:54year did you winter skiing in valdez air summer in canby island we did we went we went camping genuinely
36:01we went camping once as a family when i was a kid and we turned up to the campsite in
36:06devon my dad
36:07in his three-piece suit walked onto the campsite he took one look at the lavatories which he said were
36:11inhumane he then drove down the road checked himself into a bnb and we camped for the week he
36:17stayed in the hotel best holiday we've ever had so rebecca's not just a brilliant singer and a
36:28brilliant songwriter uh but also a brilliant actor on stage you were in cabaret here in the west end
36:33yeah uh and you're going to be back on the stage in the west end in teeth and smiles yes
36:38so tell us
36:39about this play uh it's the david hare play they did it at the royal court in 1975 helen mirren
36:46did it which is you know it's a bit intimidating no problem at all finally someone good doing it
36:53do you know what i mean there i'm joking i'm terrified um she's oh there's a picture of helen
36:57doing it how good is that i mean wow that's great so it's a revival i'm obsessed with the music
37:03being
37:03very sort of raw and real and um it's a moment in time every night you come to the theater
37:08and we're
37:09not going to do it the same twice and so the the songs in it were they already there pre
37:13-existing or
37:13will it be your songs in this version i've written one new song for it for because of course
37:18uh the character of maggie i was like i just feel like she's she'd have a song here and you
37:22said
37:23teeth and smiles is going to be back in the west end uh from the 13th of march to the
37:276th of june
37:27it's at the duke of york's theater and so you see your acting as well but you're singing on stage
37:32as well oh yeah do some songs so if you don't like the acting bit hang tight i'll do a
37:37song don't
37:38worry i'm sure both will be amazing it is it's brilliant and i'm so excited about it and it's such
37:42a
37:42it was obviously written a long time ago but it's very pertinent now to the sort of where we are
37:47in the world and uh i'm i'm very proud of it so i i'm gonna i would like to come
37:52see it if i may
37:52and i will even pay for my own ticket no no no we'll get you on that um press night
37:56they want
37:57all the famos in so now i'll be like i know jonathan ross that's a good one that'll get in
38:02am i a good one still yeah mate honestly don't what don't you worry don't you still get in
38:11get tickets if you can it's going to be great but don't go anywhere because we're going to take a
38:15break and afterwards we'll have more from my guest and self-esteem will be singing right here in the
38:19studio and she is amazing see you after the break welcome back to the show i'm still here with all
38:35my fabulous guests um okay so we've got lots to talk about jack i didn't really ask you much about
38:39the
38:40brits and we should say it's on itv on itvx next saturday at 8 15. this is his sixth time
38:46hosting
38:46so you know you've done it right so that's probably a record i would imagine uh what what do we
38:52have to
38:52look forward to tonight what's going to be the most exciting moments you think yeah i mean there's some
38:55amazing performances i mean personally i'm so excited harry styles back at the brits i had to send over a
39:02a couple of ideas because the first few i don't think were were were appropriate but yes uh he's
39:09doing a performance of his song aperture can you tell us one of the ideas you sent over that was
39:13deemed
39:14inappropriate uh there was one that was like me like trekking for days to try and find him and he'd
39:20been like living in a hut and he was all like he looked like hagrid and then it had me
39:24like shaving him
39:25it was maybe like a fantasy of mine but that got a hard note i wonder why yeah danny was
39:34it last
39:35year you were at the brits yes yeah and you well i can't remember something happened didn't you said
39:39something that kind of got a little bit everything i said was bleeped out for some reason you know i
39:42you know i presented one to uh it was something about keir starmer wasn't it yeah i think i called
39:47him i think okay i'll do it okay i'll do it okay i'll do it okay i'll do it okay
39:54i'll apologize but uh
39:55i don't really no you didn't apologize i had to apologize
39:59they were in my ear going please say sorry you're live on otv i imagine that's what the witch is
40:03about
40:03though yeah he's amazing i i was so great that he was there and was willing to drop sea bombs
40:10and cause a
40:10bit of chaos and also the problem is like most modern celebrities are a bit lame so you're you're
40:16trying to get it going and then you're just like you get nothing from them so then you go over
40:20to
40:20danny and the postman always delivers
40:30okay so jack the thing i'm looking forward to though is uh if your parents turn up on the red
40:34carpet
40:35as they did at previous grids here's a photograph of jack's mom and dad when they put on their
40:40refinery for the brits uh pretty amazing pretty amazing yes no kenya and his wife they're dressed
40:48as kenya and his wife there which is amazing i hope your dad's still got that look going on uh
40:53what's the plan for this year do you know what your mom and dad have got could you stop lusting
40:57over my
40:57mom
41:04and then this year after the grammys i woke up to a message from her and she sent me a
41:08picture of
41:08that chapel rowan dress going what date is it this year okay well here's in case you don't know i'm
41:15sure that's the chapel one and it was sort of held up by it looked like piercings although i don't
41:20believe it was no it's attached to a piercing i'm actually wearing a an outfit by the same designer
41:25this evening this shirt is attached to my prince albert your mum's gonna go in there to the brits
41:32she's threatening to but i did actually see her the other day she was over to babysit my daughter
41:37and i looked over her shoulder and she was trying to purchase this like um like see-through breastplate
41:43i was like what are you doing she was like i'm genuinely going to try and construct a chapel-run
41:47outfit
41:48to wear to the brits you know what more power to her i hope she's going to be amazing
41:52not encouraging please danny danny you've got a new quiz show coming up haven't you yes it's called
41:59nobody's fault and uh i am doing it with emily atax we're co-hosting there you go amazing from
42:05rivals and um what's the premise is it a bit like it's a bit like traitors yeah sort of people
42:10in the
42:10room and um they have to sort of work out who the smartest is ah so some people in it
42:16are sort of went to
42:18and uh and some of them have never really been educated it's about it's about um so it's really
42:26about uh sort of sussing each other out and voting out uh you know who you think the thickest is
42:32that
42:33sounds it sounds it sounds brutal it's really good it sounds really brutal well we're nearly in the
42:44show but we do have a fabulous performance come from rebecca so i'm going to ask rebecca to head
42:47off and to get ready to perform we're going to play a little game while she does that but will
42:50you
42:50join me in saying thank you to rebecca for being such a lovely guest okay so i think you're going
43:03to enjoy this so we're going to play a little memory game for you oh boy because we're playing
43:07the memory game in honor the character you play so you know your memory is oh good god
43:12so this is your fault okay so we're going to show a clip on the screen which i think you'll
43:17enjoy and
43:18then i want you all to look at the clip and then i'm going to ask a question about something
43:21which
43:21occurs on screen during that moment this is from a little thing called noah's art oh no
43:28back in 1997 oh boy how old were you then jack i this is like my child acting days this
43:34is so
43:34terrible it was yeah i mean nine let's start blue later in life let's start you do actually not look
43:41great no no okay um thank you
44:02oh it's you
44:04what's happening this is cyril the rabbit known alias patilla the bun it's not his name's cyril
44:14yes and he's a menace no he's not he's a rabbit
44:22adorable adorable adorable adorable okay lovely uh so the question about that isn't uh when did jack get
44:30his teeth fixed the question is those teeth it looks like my tongue is in jail the question is
44:37how many guinea pigs were in the cage three two two you should know he was in it
44:45danny danny five danny's got it right well done danny fantastic i knew one would pay attention okay
44:52it's just about come to the end of the show i'm afraid but will you join me in saying thank
44:55you to
44:55all my spectacular guests so i think you agree we're all such lovely company the brilliant patrick
44:59dempsey we're off next week because the brits are on and jack's hosting so hopefully you tune in for
45:18that but join me again the week after where we've got kurt russell on the show david byrne from talking
45:23heads will be here maya jama tim wath and noah khan but now with the deep blue okay from the
45:29deluxe
45:29version of a complicated woman which is out on friday it is the fabulous self-esteem
45:42and another thing left that i need to say i took a knife in case it was a home game
45:49it was wrong and right
45:51did you expect i might be on the way to alliance and yet another boy had a clean girl brown
46:01it was a little
46:02forced to be what i want one pleasing everyone and he can sing and he can thrive and you could
46:13never say i
46:14try but it was for who i was in who i'd become so what's left i cry it's just another
46:27new mountain to climb but i know that
46:30at the top is where the next hill starts
46:41i'm inferior you're the absolute this has got everything nothing to do with you
46:48i'm a house to buy i've still got this false mind
46:54and as another year turns around the bend as i'm a child yet another friend it's still hard out here
47:04but
47:05what the fuck i'll just keep going and i'm alone at least for now
47:11because i can never dump myself down i just know way too much to ever fall in love
47:21but the idea is good i see where you're all coming from
47:32so i'll roll on on merrily on the way to make another wedding about me i've got boundaries plenty but
47:42that's just so tiring so i pick and choose what is mine to lose i don't care about much but
47:51i care about
47:52you you're the only one who i'm still writing songs for and i'm on edge i'll make it work i
48:03know that digging in the dirt is how
48:06someone like you're someone like me gets very mentally and yeah it's a shame that i'm not okay
48:15but the deep blue's there inside of me and i have my doubts but no i'm always working out
48:29you'll always work it out
48:46and another thing left that i need to say
48:50you know what i might try today
48:53i might fucking try today
48:56try today
48:58try today
49:00and another thing left that i need to say
49:03you know what i might try today
49:07i might fucking try today
49:10try today
49:12try today
49:27based on true events we follow the story of jane andrews who dressed royalty but harbored her own deadly secrets
49:33brand new the lady is tomorrow here at nine next it will be all right on the night
49:42Unless you take it before but I can feel the truth without finding your character
49:51I will do it
49:53if you take it away
