00:13Hey, I'm Zack Cooper, your Splinter Cell community developer.
00:16In this week's Blacklist CommDev video, we're speaking to those who embody the characteristics
00:20of both the ghost and the panther, the stealthy folk who, when choosing to strike, do so from
00:26the shadows, but remain undetected.
00:28What's that?
00:29We'll begin on this rainy rooftop, a nice place to show off the variety of non-lethal
00:33takedowns.
00:36We'll look at the assault approach, which is lethal and action-heavy, in the coming months.
00:40But for now, let's keep it quiet.
00:48The theme we're going for is we're trying to find unmatched fluidity.
00:51With Sam, with his environment, with his moves, we're trying to show that Sam has a move for
00:58every situation.
01:00We take a lot of things into account.
01:01We take Sam's position.
01:02We take his situation.
01:04We take whether it's lethal, whether it's non-lethal.
01:06You add all that together and that will create one of the unique moves that we've got.
01:12When you're coming up behind someone, obviously we want to take them out quickly and efficiently.
01:17So, we found that a good way of doing it is basically going for nerves in the back of the
01:21head, in the back of the neck.
01:22Go for kidneys as well.
01:23Again, we try to go for that idea of sound suppression.
01:27So, it basically gives Sam some more time to do what he needs to do.
01:31But the first action is always going to be some sort of suppression.
01:36We have combat, we have stealth, we have lethal, we have non-lethal, we have moving.
01:43Each one of those can be combat, stealth, lethal, non-lethal.
01:46We have static, we've got abductions.
01:49They're combat, stealth, lethal, non-lethal.
01:51There's a lot of moves. So, we add all of them together, there's about 90 plus moves.
02:04The thinking behind the abductions, to me, it's a perfect fit for Splinter Cell.
02:08I mean, Sam pounces from the shadow, he attacks from the shadows, okay?
02:11So, what better way to do that than to use cover and make cover your weapon.
02:21With the stealth abductions, the philosophy behind that is we always bring into cover.
02:26You know, so it's that, it's Sam hiding the body, trying to suppress the body, trying to keep it quiet.
02:31With the combat abductions, Sam isn't concerned about hiding the body.
02:34He's already been detected, right?
02:36So, it's about dropping the body as efficiently as possible.
02:39Make it easy on yourself. Surround now.
02:42Uh!
02:44Uh!
02:45Ah!
02:47Uh!
02:49Uh!
02:51Uh!
02:52Uh!
02:53Uh!
