00:08Grazie a tutti.
00:30You're locked in to Bioware Pulse. I'm David Silverman.
00:33If you've been craving new ways to play Mass Effect, you're in the right place.
00:36Today, Bioware officially announced multiplayer for the upcoming Mass Effect 3.
00:40That's right, Mass Effect 3 is going to let you engage in all-out galactic war with three of your
00:45friends.
00:46For more information on the four-player co-op feature in Mass Effect 3,
00:49we sat down with Executiv producer Casey Hudson to bring you this exclusive interview.
00:53It's time for Insider.
01:02If you haven't played a game in the Mass Effect series before, Mass Effect 3 is really a great place
01:07to start.
01:08Whereas Mass Effect 1 and 2 were about Commander Shepard and his small crew,
01:13this is really the beginning, middle, and end of the whole galactic war.
01:20Because it's fundamentally different in that way, we realized multiplayer could be a complement
01:24to Commander Shepard's very rich, engaging, single-player story experience.
01:32You'll be able to join your friends for four-player co-op missions,
01:36where you're really fighting for control of locations throughout the galaxy.
01:39But what's really amazing about multiplayer in Mass Effect 3 is that for the first time,
01:44you'll be able to take control of characters that you've never been able to play before.
01:48You can be an Asari, you can be a Drell, you have access to all the different classes
01:52and many of the different races that you've seen in the Mass Effect series,
01:56but you haven't been able to play before.
01:57Because it's been an integrated design effort,
02:00we've created something that is a cohesive experience
02:02between the multiplayer and the single-player aspects of Mass Effect 3.
02:06These places that Commander Shepard is trying to secure across the galaxy
02:10as part of your war assets on the single-player side,
02:13you're fighting to control those on the multiplayer side.
02:17And the better you do, the more you control,
02:20the better your single-player ending will be.
02:23Ultimately, it's about adding more player choice.
02:26If you want to do a really complete single-player playthrough,
02:29then you can absolutely get to the highest levels of success in the endgame.
02:34But you also now have an alternative.
02:35You can take more of that experience into multiplayer.
02:39It's actually part of your canon storyline as Commander Shepard.
02:43One of the biggest concerns that we've heard is that by taking on multiplayer,
02:47maybe we're taking away from what could be applied to the single-player story.
02:52But by adding multiplayer, we actually have the opportunity
02:55to make use of an additional team that we've been growing over the years,
02:59specifically around the expertise in doing multiplayer programming, design, and art,
03:05so you get a single-player experience that's as polished,
03:08it's got all the amazing moments.
03:10But at the same time, we've been able to add,
03:13through the addition of BioWare Montreal,
03:15this new capability to do multiplayer for the first time.
03:19we've worked really hard to make a fun experience in.
03:22We're now at the point where developers that have been working on it all week,
03:26all day on Friday, will stay until the wee hours of the morning playing multiplayer.
03:32and that, to us, is the biggest testament to the fact that it's just a tremendous amount of fun.
03:39It continues to be fun day after day,
03:42and we're just so excited for players to be able to get their hands on it.
03:47Well, there you have it. Plenty of exciting new ways to play Mass Effect 3 come next March.
