01:14Board Ready Games is about 25 guys
01:16really really enthusiastic about
01:18space games, space combat games
01:20we've played X-Wing
01:22Free Space, Free Lancer
01:24Star Lancer, all these games
01:25we've loved all these games for years and years and years
01:28this is the kind of game we really
01:30always wanted to make
01:43The classic
01:44space combat game has dogfighting,
01:46bombers, you get in furballs
01:48you do bombing runs in capital ships
01:50and the strike suit adds a robot mode
01:52which suddenly allows you to stop in space
01:54you can stop, you can move laterally
01:56vertically, you can strike along a capital ship
01:59in any direction you like
02:00The strike suit is different from the other
02:02crafting game specifically because it transforms
02:04and it transforms into this very powerful
02:06but limited mech mode that's fed from
02:08energy that you gain from destroying
02:10enemy craft or even taking damage
02:15Taking out turrets,
02:16dodging missiles, if someone's on your tail
02:18you can turn into the robot
02:20spin around, take them out
02:22or you can just dodge to the side of a missile
02:25so many different ways you can use it
02:26offensively, defensively, lots of action mechanics
02:28added by that
02:32And within this mode you can cause far more damage
02:34and create far more chaos
02:36than you could in a normal mode
02:37but you can also move and focus
02:39much like a third person action game
02:45Western influences would be
02:47Homeworld, Star Wars, Tron even
02:51as well as Eastern influences
02:53like Gundam, Macross
02:55and the work of Junji Okuboe
02:59Junji's a little bit different
03:01in that he's a Japanese mecha designer
03:04who's heavily influenced by Western sci-fi
03:07You often employ a Japanese mecha designer
03:11to get very Japanese designs
03:14or a Western designer
03:15to get very Western designs
03:16but we didn't really want to
03:19do anything too much
03:20we kind of wanted to sit in the middle
03:22and take the things from both styles of design
03:24which we like
03:25and create something distinctive and new
03:29If you take a look at the skyboxes
03:30you'll see that there's kind of a
03:32time of day thing going on
03:34there's break of dawn
03:35there's sort of daytime
03:37there's kind of night time
03:38it's almost like space has an atmosphere
03:42One of the big inspirations of games
03:43Homeworld wasn't just a source
03:45of artistic inspiration
03:47we loved the soundtrack
03:48and we were very happy to get Paul Ruskay
03:50to work with us on creating the soundtrack
03:52for this game
03:52and in fact he has provided us with
03:54the various layers from the tracks
03:56so we can combine those within the levels
03:58to create a dynamic flow on the soundtrack as you move through the game
04:01he's created some amazing pieces
04:03and we can't wait for you to hit him
04:08So the good thing as well about Kickstarter
04:10not only is it going to help us to get the game out that we want to make
04:13but Kickstarter is great
04:15because people are going to be able to join in
04:17get some fantastic awards
04:19some real exclusives
04:20and importantly for me become part of the Strikesuit universe
04:24that we're developing
04:29as a developer
04:30you always want to spend longer on what you're doing
04:32you always want to polish more
04:34and add more content
04:35and there's things that you could have done better
04:37which you'd like to go back and revisit
04:41Funding this game
04:43allows us to build a space combat game
04:45that we grew up with
04:46allows us to build a sci-fi story
04:48we love epic in scale
04:54so with more money we can really polish the game
04:58we can add extra content
05:00we can really smooth over any bumps that are there
05:03we can bring back space combat
05:05and install
05:06we're going to make it better
05:10with the extra time and money from Kickstarter
05:12we can really implement the feedback
05:15that we got from PAX and Eurogamer
05:17and Gamescom Expos this summer
05:18helping us make the best possible game for the fans
05:22what I'd like to say is
05:24thank you everybody for listening
05:25and please watch out for updates
05:27we've got some really cool stuff coming
05:28we'll see you next time
05:58Grazie a tutti
