00:08In Ghost Recon Online, you start as the elite of the Special Forces, but that's only the beginning.
00:23We wanted to create an experience where the player can define his own experience, define his own character, take the
00:32raw material of a ghost and form him into the ghost that he wants to be.
00:36As players level up, they cheer up in their weapons. Having better weapons means that they have more firepower, better
00:43upgrades for their weapons, they get a lot more choices in terms of how they want to play and how
00:47they want to equip their character.
00:49Players will also gain access to better body armor, which they can further customize with armor inserts.
00:54These inserts provide bonuses like increased protection, critical hit mitigation and health regen.
01:01The class abilities can also be upgraded as the player's progress. Whether it's enhancing the range and power of their
01:06ability or increasing its duration, the players can customize their class abilities in various ways to suit their play style
01:12and type things.
01:14Each class is actually a different play style entirely, and we've designed it explicitly for this.
01:21We know that players come in or gravitate to one thing or another, but one of the things you can
01:25do with your play style is that within that little bracket,
01:29you can actually even change that play style.
01:33So the easiest classic kind of analogy I would have for archetypes would be your sniper role, right?
01:40So recon fits the sniper role, and you get that.
01:43But you can actually switch to the submachine gun, which gives them that close range ability.
01:47But his abilities are kind of fun to use in the sense that you've got the active camouflage system, and
01:52you've got the oracle digital interrogator, right?
01:55So these things are actually polar opposites.
01:59So one allows you to hide, and one allows you to detect.
02:06With the specialists, his kind of play style is actually the hardest one to describe.
02:10It's more of an advanced class.
02:12The specialist has probably more ability to be a catalyst for advancing and gaining ground than any of the other
02:17classes.
02:18That really starts with, you know, the Aegis ability.
02:22It allows you to basically deflect bullets.
02:24Through that, just popping it up, everybody sees it on both the enemy and the enemy sides, and people will
02:29rush in to take advantage of that, to maneuver to the next piece of cover.
02:34With the blackout, it's the polar opposite to Aegis.
02:38It's area effect, you just gotta charge it up before he deploys it.
02:41But it actually will disable all electronic devices in the area.
02:45Not only does the blackout device short out the HUDs of nearby enemies, the best part is it drains the
02:54energy of their ability so that they cannot effectively use their ability for quite some time, as if they've just
03:01completed using it.
03:05So when you're the assault, you're up front, you've pushed ahead, you're trying to pull the team up, you deploy
03:10heat, and that suppresses any enemies that you're focusing on for several very effective seconds.
03:16This allows your team to move up and hold the position with you.
03:20When I've got my level 30 assault, with my fully customized assault rifle with the Phantom 1-4 multi-zoom
03:27scope, a fully upgraded heat that I can use much more often than the average guy, loading that character into
03:33the match, shooting my friends in the face, it's the most satisfying experience of my week.
03:38.
