00:04Hello, my name is Dominic Butler and I'm the lead game designer on Ghost Recon Wildlands.
00:10In Ghost Recon Wildlands, we offer players the total freedom of choice
00:14as they fight to take down the Santa Blanca cartel.
00:18A few months ago at E3, our four ghosts raided a camp to extract El Pozzolero,
00:24a bouchon of the Santa Blanca cartel.
00:28Today, we want to show you another way to play the same mission,
00:32taking a stealth approach and using the cover of night to our advantage.
00:43Weaver, Nomad and Holt are base jumping from the helicopter.
00:47This is one of the 60 plus vehicles available in the game for you to use as you explore the
00:53world.
00:55Today, four devs are playing the demo in co-op.
00:59But Ghost Recon Wildlands is entirely playable, from beginning to end,
01:03in solo where you're supported by your AI teammates.
01:07Weaver has landed on a cliff nearby to gain a vantage point
01:10and provide cover for Nomad and Holt, who are now landing and moving towards a cartel checkpoint.
01:23All four ghosts are now on the ground.
01:26Midas will regroup with the others in the camp.
01:34Ghost Recon Wildlands features a complete day and night cycle,
01:37as well as a realistic weather system, which both have an influence on gameplay.
01:42Here, for example, night time with rainy weather is a perfect combination for a stealthier approach.
01:49Ideally, we want to gain access without alerting the cartel.
01:52So it's time to be creative.
01:56The ghosts know that this truck is being used for local deliveries.
01:59If they can take it, they can use it to get into the camp, without raising suspicion.
02:08Our ghosts are getting into position, now tagging their enemies and identifying their targets.
02:40Midas is now using the slink shot feature to assign targets to his teammates.
02:46The slink shot makes its comeback in Wildlands
02:48and is the perfect feature to coordinate your action with your team.
02:53Here we go.
02:55And that's a perfect execution.
02:58Playing solo, you'll be able to issue simple orders to your AI teammates
03:02to achieve the same deadly result.
03:07Now Nomad and Holt are going to use the truck
03:10to get into the camp without being detected.
03:22The cartel recognize this truck and so the ghosts are in.
03:39Alt has jumped out of the truck and is preparing a possible exit strategy
03:42by placing some C4.
03:46Landmines, frag, flash and diversion grenades
03:49will also give you the explosive edge
03:51and help create diversions.
03:55With more than 50 weapons available in the game
03:58that you're able to use and customize
04:00with hundreds of different attachments,
04:02it's up to you to choose the right weapon for the job.
04:07Each of them has its own ballistics model
04:09with piercing, dispersion and bullet drop.
04:34Weaver's now deploying his drone to further recon the area.
04:37They switch to thermal vision to easily detect local targets.
04:42Other special upgrades can be added to the drone too,
04:45including an EMP pulse that deactivates electronics,
04:49a noise generator or high explosives.
05:01Okay, that's our guy, El Pozzolero, working late into the night.
05:19Now that we have his exact location,
05:22Nomad is going to park the truck near to the target.
05:26In order to complete your mission,
05:28coordination and communication are key.
05:48Nomad is now in position,
05:50waiting for the right moment to grab the target.
05:54Midas is heading towards the camp
05:56to rejoin Holt and Nomad.
06:09Weaver has located the camp generator with his drone.
06:12If the team manages to shut it down,
06:15they'll kill power in the camp,
06:16which will prevent triggering alarms
06:18or secondary reinforcements.
06:27Midas is now making his way into the camp,
06:29avoiding the patrols en route to the generator.
06:33.
06:59Pold is placing more C4 on the other side of the camp
07:02to provide further distraction in case the ghost needed during their escape.
07:22The diversion grenade is another great tool that can be used to distract enemies.
07:35Since we are attacking this camp at night, we can take advantage of each NPC's unique
07:40day and night agenda.
07:42For example, this soldier here is taking a rest.
07:52Back to Midas, who is keeping a low profile to avoid being detected.
08:16Holt is making his way towards Nomad in El Pozolero's location.
08:42Making sure you don't leave bodies to be discovered is key to preventing the camp going on full
08:47alert.
08:49You can grab and drag your enemies away from the patrol path, so when you knock them out,
08:53they're out of sight.
09:10Midas is climbing between the camp buildings to reach a better position.
09:18All the while, Weaver continues to provide cover.
09:29Having reached the generator, Midas can disable it to kill the lights throughout the camp.
09:40Nomad is activated as night vision to get closer to El Pozolero.
09:45While enemies don't have night vision, they will become suspicious as to why the lights
09:50are suddenly out.
09:53are now alerted.
09:54Now, we need to extract our target from the camp.
09:59The enemies are now alerted by the noise and are trying to find its origin.
10:21Holt is passing a rebel prison cage.
10:23The rebels are another faction in the game.
10:26They have their own conflict with the Santa Blanca, so they'll spontaneously engage whenever
10:31they get the chance.
10:41Nomad has just put our target into the truck and is moving towards the exit.
10:55Weaver is liberating another group of rebels.
10:59This camp is now erupting into a full gunfight between the rebels and the Santa Blanca.
11:07And to provide further disruption, we blow that C4 we placed earlier.
11:35Weaver is now headed to rejoin the others, clearing the last of the Santa Blanca in the wild who
11:39were attracted by the gunshots.
11:46So now, with El Pozolero in our custody, we're going to deliver him to our rally point
11:52and learn key information about the cartel and his bosses.
11:57That's the end of the demo.
