00:00Let's talk some NBA here, Rick.
00:02The Golden State Warriors are getting Curry back.
00:05They're kind of hanging around there on the bubble right now.
00:08Do you believe they make the playoffs?
00:11This depends how fast it's going to take Steph to get back into shape.
00:14I mean, he's got to be in terrible shape.
00:16It doesn't take long to get out of NBA shape to play NBA basketball
00:20and play 40 minutes a game.
00:22And he's been out a long time.
00:24And when you have a knee, how do you get in shape
00:26if you can't do something and use your legs?
00:30And I'm going to see how long it's going to take them.
00:32So, yeah, and they definitely have struggled.
00:36But it just depends.
00:37They can get it together quickly.
00:38They don't have that much time left in order to be able to do that.
00:42They could possibly sneak into the play-in.
00:45We'll see.
00:45But, I mean, it's unrealistic to think they have any chance
00:48of doing anything significant.
00:49It's just not going to happen.
00:50This is more or less a write-off year for them.
00:54Would they like to get to the playoffs?
00:55Sure, of course.
00:56Why?
00:56You want to get some extra home games?
00:58I'm sure Joe Lacob and Peter Guber and any of the other minority owners
01:02would love to see some more games at home to put some more money in the coffers
01:05of all the money they've had to spend.
01:07And to not have those extra games is going to cost them a bunch of money.
01:10So, yeah, it's been a tough couple of years for them
01:13with the injuries that they've had to keep players.
01:16Do you agree that they need to make a move maybe for Giannis
01:19to kind of continue this thing here?
01:21Because there was talk, Rick, of him being traded, you know,
01:24going up to the trading deadline to Golden State.
01:27Is that something like maybe a smaller version of KD going to the Golden State Warriors?
01:33Well, conceivably, yes.
01:34I mean, anytime you get a player of his stature, but what do you have to give up to get
01:38it?
01:38I mean, so if he comes there and you don't have enough talent,
01:40you don't win with one person and not necessarily even with two people.
01:43It takes a team to win.
01:46So you have to have the right personnel in order to be able to pull that off.
01:49But certainly it looks like they need something.
01:51Who knows what Jimmy's going to be when he comes back?
01:53I know the technology is great now as far as the medical field is concerned
01:57and guys have come back from those injuries and played at a pretty high level.
02:00But will he be as good as he was prior to that?
02:02Who knows?
02:03Same thing.
02:04Steph's getting on in years now.
02:06And, you know, now he just had this injury that kept him out for a long time.
02:09There's just so many factors involved.
02:11And then making the trades, the hardest thing in the world is,
02:13because of all of the rules and regulations and the salary cap and other things,
02:17the ramifications there, I don't even try to get into it.
02:20I'd say, you want to talk about it?
02:21Let's talk about it.
02:22If the trade's done, then we can discuss it and see if it makes it a worthwhile trade.
02:27Because you just never know what you have to give up in order to get it,
02:30in order to not break the bank because of the salary cap rules.
02:36Absolutely.
02:37Hey, Rick, have you been shocked with the development of Wendy and how good he looks?
02:41I mean, he looks like the best defender in the NBA right now,
02:45not just for the fact that he's got, like, psycho offensive skills,
02:48but have you been shocked with his play?
02:51No.
02:52In fact, when I saw him play, I said, oh, my God, he's going to be a real force.
02:55I mean, it kind of reminds me when I was sitting with Jerry Westcott,
02:58West Thistle, and we were watching a college game together,
03:01and I looked over.
03:02I said, what do you think of this guy?
03:04And he said, that'd be unbelievable.
03:05I said, yeah, I agree.
03:06It was Kevin Durant.
03:08But, okay, so, you know, and you see Wemby in the same thing.
03:11He says, oh, my God, how good is he going to be?
03:13Because he's going to get stronger.
03:14He's incredibly gifted.
03:16I mean, he plays like he's so much smaller than what he is.
03:19And I just saw something that's really scary.
03:21I saw a video of five, seven-foot-plus guys playing ball.
03:25Now, some of them even younger, 15 years old.
03:28It's going to be crazy, some of the skilled athletes that are going to come into the NBA.
03:34Unbelievable how good they're going to be.
03:35But Wemby is special.
03:36I mean, he's, again, I put him in the category of anomaly.
03:39There's never been a player his size who can play the way he plays,
03:42just like there's never been a player Kevin Durant's size
03:44who played the small forward position the way that he plays.
