00:30I'm Sam Lake, creative director at Remedy.
00:34In Quantum Break, time is breaking down.
00:38This is just one insane, memorable moment that our heroes in the game
00:4560 seconds, Jack.
00:47will have to survive and navigate through fighting their enemies.
00:51We are taking things that are familiar from other mediums,
00:55from movies and books,
00:57but have never been experienced in interactive form.
01:02We are transporting the audience and the players into this world.
01:07They can be an active part of it.
01:10They can actively make choices and affect the outcome of this rollercoaster ride.
01:17In the game, your choices define your director's cut of the show.
01:23That's what Quantum Break is about.
01:31It's uncharted territory. Nobody's done this before.
01:34It's really being enabled by the next generation Xbox.
01:42I'm not going to hurt you, but I can't let you go!
01:48Zero state!
01:49I think the first thing people will notice is the facial animation.
01:54We have digital doubles of the actors,
01:57which means that basically every nuance of an actor's performance is captured on screen.
02:03We can build more complex facial and body rigs,
02:07more complex in-game animation systems.
02:10You're the only one who can fix this.
02:12I know the guy who murdered Will is using you.
02:15The thing that excites me most about the next gen Xbox is bringing characters to life,
02:19making them more than just cardboard cutouts.
02:21Paul said people would try to steal our research.
02:24It's probably the most important thing to nail down in a story-driven experience.
02:29We're able to deliver these awesome set pieces of action.
02:33We have beautiful destruction, if you will,
02:35where you can see kind of the intricate detail of little specks of dust,
02:39but the scale is massive.
02:43We have a physical simulation software that we use
02:46in order to actually really destroy these spaces.
02:50And we can run with that time,
02:52and then we can stutter and jump
02:54between different times during that destruction.
02:57A modern blockbuster movie
02:59and show you a huge scene of destruction
03:03with all its glorious details.
03:06Now, in Quantum Break, we can do better.
03:10We can transport you into a moment like that.
03:25We get to shoot stuff, smash stuff up.
03:28We get to blow stuff up.
03:31We get to ride in tanks.
03:33I know gamers are going to love Quantum Break.
03:35It delivers on the action and the set pieces
03:37that gamers love and have come to appreciate.
03:39With Quantum Break, it almost feels like a dream come true.
03:43It feels like we're in a sweet spot as a creative force.
03:47It's a thrilling, tightly-paced, high-octane action spectacle.
03:53In the past, great storytellers would sit by a fire
03:57and people would come and listen to them deliver a story.
03:59And they would be enthralled and engaged in that.
04:02For us, I think we're storytellers at heart.
04:04And the next generation of Xbox is our fire.
04:07And that's how we share a story.
04:09Move it!
04:10Move! Move!
04:28Move!
