2K Sports ha rilasciato questo nuovo videodiario degli sviluppatori dedicato a NBA 2K14, incentrato sul sistema di controllo.
Viene messo in evidenza soprattutto il particolare sistema Pro Stick, che consente un controllo intuitivo ma anche molto completo dei movimenti dei giocatori, con una gamma di azioni possibili molto ampia, che vanno dai fondamentali a manovre più complesse come finte, passaggi no-look, cambi di posizione e movimento improvvisi e molto altro.
Il producer Rob Jones e il gameplay designer Mike Wang illustrano dunque le novità del sistema Pro Stick in NBA 2K14 con questo video.

00:30We made a huge breakthrough in the way the game is played in terms of content
00:34There's over 3,000 new animations in the game, which is more than we've done in both 2K12 and 13
00:40One of the things that we wanted to do early was try to figure out a way to bring kind
00:44of that pizzazz
00:45Like Steve Nash and Chris Paul and all these other guys that go out there and really make passing on
00:50art in the game
00:51We wanted to kind of bring that out
00:53For a long time we were known for our shot stick and that was just the ability to shoot with
00:58the right stick
00:59To do layups, dunks, everything on the right stick
01:02And it's something that all our fans loved, but at the same time we felt that dribbling was another huge
01:07aspect of offense
01:08That we really couldn't express without having some right stick functionality
01:13Part of what we were doing with the new dribble and shooting controls
01:17We also wanted to be able to really expand the creativity of users
01:21You can now pinpoint and throw assist type passes that are fancy, whether no looks or coming out of spins
01:27You know, whatever you want to think of
01:28And we put the control of it right into the user
01:32So with the pro stick, you hold down L2, the pro stick becomes a pass stick
01:36So hold L2, flick the stick, and you'll throw flashy passes
01:39Now you can kind of just choose to throw an assist or between the legs or behind the back pass
01:45at any point in time that you want
01:47And obviously the accuracy of those are dictated by distance and your ability as a passer
01:52It feels immediately natural, I think, to users who have played our game in the past as well as new
01:56users
01:56So with a lot more new functionality, a lot of new shot types, a lot of new dribble moves
02:00We've kind of brought everything together that fans have been asking for in the past
02:04And I think Utsuke 14 is a game that just plays and feels a lot more like real basketball
