00:30You can see them walking up and down the streets, looking for places to gamble.
00:34I can see how I'm doing financially by checking out my profit and loss at my casino headquarters.
00:39You can easily see that I'm making lots of money.
00:43This is also where I can check out how my casino empire is doing compared to every other player.
00:48Hmm, looks like I'm not doing as good as I thought.
00:51It's time to upgrade my casinos.
00:53Like most of the buildings in SimCity, I can click the edit button to see the different upgrade options.
00:58I have several choices, and each one provides me with a different benefit.
01:02This celebrity stage will learn more Sims through the door.
01:05Adding more gaming rooms, like this poker parlor, will increase my take from each gambler.
01:10Those are both good options, but I'm going to go with a hotel.
01:13If I want to get to the top of the casino leaderboard, I want the Sims spending their money at
01:17my casino instead of other places in the city.
01:20And as long as the beds are here, they won't have any reason to leave.
01:25Uh-oh, looks like my city just blew a fuse.
01:28I've been relying on my wind farm to power all of these buildings, and now the system is completely overloaded.
01:33Wind power is clean and cheap, and I could expand it, but I'd rather use that space to build more
01:37casinos later on.
01:38I could also bulldoze it and replace it with a coal power plant, but I don't really want all that
01:42air pollution in my city.
01:44Fortunately, there is another option.
01:47Out in the region, there's plenty of room to expand.
01:49Each one of these squares is a place where a new city could start.
01:52I can claim a few for myself, claim them all, or I can invite some friends in to join me.
01:57Right now, I'm going to claim this spot for myself.
02:00This will be a perfect place to build a power plant where the tourists won't even see it.
02:03The first thing I have to do is to create a road in my new city that connects to the
02:07region highway.
02:08There are several different power options to choose from.
02:11This nuclear power plant is attractive, but it costs way too much.
02:14I could transfer money from my other city over to this one, but I'd rather spend that money to grow
02:18my casino empire.
02:20So a new coal power plant is a better option for me, since it's a lot cheaper.
02:24Although it's dirty, it'll take a long time for any pollution to drift over into my casino city.
02:30One of the cool things about multi-city play is that the sims are going to drive back and forth
02:34between the cities.
02:35You can already see some commuters from my casino city making their way over here to work in my coal
02:40plant.
02:41I'm going to turn on the power data layer.
02:43Okay, the power is on and flowing nicely.
02:46If I go back up to region view, I can turn on the data layer here and see which resources
02:50are being shared between the cities.
02:53Yep, power is being sent from my coal power plant over to my casino city.
03:00Nice! Dan is online and he wants to join in.
03:03If I invite him into my region, then he can play in any unclaimed city that he wants.
03:08I'm going to abandon my coal power city and let him take charge of it, so that I can focus
03:12on my casino city.
03:13Dan can decide what kind of city he wants to build.
03:17Okay, now let's go back to my casino city.
03:19Alright, the power is back on and my casinos are making money again.
03:23Some of that money is going straight to Dan to pay for this power.
03:26Dan can use the money to build out his city, so we're both going to benefit from the deal.
03:32One of the problems with casinos, they attract a lot of criminals.
03:36I can easily see there's a problem because of all this graffiti on these buildings.
03:40If I want to see some more detailed information, I can turn on the crime data layer.
03:44Whoa, this is worse than I thought.
03:46These big red blobs, they show me all the recent crime activity.
03:50My one little police station can't keep up with all this crime.
03:53If I don't take care of this problem soon, the criminals will cross the border into Dan City and cause
03:58trouble there too.
03:59I think I'm going to need a larger police station.
04:02I could place it out here on the edge of the city, but it's best to keep it closer to
04:06the casinos, near the worst crime zones.
04:09Since Dan is sending me plenty of power, I'm not going to be needing this wind farm anymore.
04:13I'm just going to bulldoze it and make some more room.
04:18Alright, here we go.
04:20This police precinct has a lot of options.
04:22I'm going to start with this radio tower here to help the police respond quicker.
04:27Then I'm going to add this helicopter to increase the patrol radius.
04:31This is all really expensive to maintain, but it's going to make a big difference by suppressing crime in a
04:35large area.
04:37The police will also travel to neighboring cities and patrol there too.
04:44Aw, this is great. Dan just finished building a fire station.
04:48That's going to be helpful, since I never bothered to build one of my own.
04:52Multi-city play means that his fire trucks will come to the rescue if there's ever a fire in my
04:56city.
04:57Hmm, I think I'm going to test this out.
04:59You know, it wouldn't be Sim City without the disasters.
05:02I've chosen to turn off random disasters in my casino city, but I still have the option to trigger them
05:07at will.
05:07If you're like me, destroying a city can be as much fun as building it.
05:12Let's see if this will start a fire.
05:18Alright, here they come now.
05:21Looks like Dan's fire trucks are going to have a lot of work to do.
05:25Multi-city play makes playing Sim City more fun and strategic than ever before,
05:29as cities in a region get to work together and solve each other's problems.
05:36And taking it a step further, you can even work outside of the cities and cooperate to build great works
05:41out in the region.
05:43I'm going to ask Dan to help me build a Space Launch Center over here, but we'll do that in
05:47the next video.
05:47So, thanks for watching.
06:18Bye.
