00:32This is the city-building game that started it all 25 years ago.
00:36We love SimCity, and we've been playing this game for years.
00:40But early on in the creative process, we knew that to make this SimCity as much fun on mobile,
00:46we were going to have to take some risks and we were going to have to break some rules.
00:49On the one hand, we knew we had to deliver on the things that make SimCity SimCity.
00:55Unpredictability, meaningful choices, a mix of control and chaos.
00:58But we had to do it in a way that was more approachable to a new generation of mobile players
01:03who play differently.
01:04They want to pick up and play experience, and we have to satisfy that experience in much shorter play sessions.
01:10They also want to try their games for free.
01:12So the first step was to start a dialogue with our most die-hard fans,
01:16and with mobile gamers across the spectrum, from strategy players to sim builders,
01:20to understand what their expectations were, so that we could deliver on the essence of what makes SimCity SimCity,
01:26but not be constrained creatively by attempting to port a PC game to mobile.
01:31The SimCity building is rendered in gorgeous, real-time 3D,
01:35with all the attention to detail and all the bells and whistles that 3D offers.
01:38There is a rich simulation under the hood, but all that complexity is distilled down into an incredibly approachable form
01:45factor for our players.
01:46There's things you're going to immediately recognize from SimCity.
01:49There's zoning, there's roads, traffic, services, data layers, and of course there are disasters.
01:55But into this, we're introducing something new. Crafting.
01:59Just like in a real city, as the mayor, you need to produce goods and services to help your city
02:04thrive and come to life.
02:05And finally, it's delivered with all the humor and whimsy that you've come to expect from a game called SimCity.
