00:00I told him, f**k off. I'm not going to go and close my restaurant.
00:03That's Harman Singh Kapoor, a London-based Sikh restaurant owner at the center of a controversy
00:08after he put up a sign saying he does not serve halal meat.
00:12I am trying to just live my normal life, feed my family and do what my beliefs tell me to
00:17do
00:19to not sell halal.
00:20This move of his drew protests outside his restaurant and backlash online.
00:25Many people don't like it. They feel offended because I'm following my belief.
00:30He's been questioned over whether his stance is aimed at Muslims.
00:34I got no enmity because this is my belief.
00:36He also faced backlash for repeatedly using the term inbreds, including in posts where he
00:42said his restaurant would not cater to inbreds.
00:45So inbreds are Muslim not the same, they're different things.
00:48So Muslims don't think I'm calling you inbreds. Inbreds are inbreds who don't have mind.
00:52But tensions have been escalating on the ground.
00:54And three days ago, I had a very 50 or 100 people gather outside of my shop and they
01:01made my life hell, my custom life hell.
01:03Every night, continuous attacks outside my restaurant, pelting eggs on my shop, following
01:08me, throwing punches, rape threats, death threats, threat to blow my home.
01:12He claims the police did not step in.
01:14I bet police had failed me. Not once, several times.
01:18Until he posted a warning online.
01:21If anybody comes near me, my family, threats me, I will kill him.
01:27Like, be ready to die. Be ready to die.
01:29Soon after, he was arrested.
01:31They were not even aware why they're arresting me, first of all.
01:34The police, however, didn't issue a public statement clarifying the circumstances of the
01:39arrest or whether any charges were filed.
01:41They just follow the orders, not the law.
01:43Critics have called his stance divisive, his language inflammatory and accused him of fueling
01:49the controversy.
01:50Even when I'm in the prison cell, they're not going to close it.
01:53Not today, not tomorrow, not forever.
01:56Long.
