00:08Welcome back to Active Aggression, a strategy game hailing from the golden era of RCS,
00:12an era where three factions pitted it out for resources and power.
00:16In this video I'm going to introduce you to the US Army,
00:19one of three factions in Active Aggression, each with their own strengths and weaknesses.
00:23Set in the near future, the US Army is strung out by multiple deployments all over the world,
00:28recurring defense budget cuts have led to equipment wear and cancellation of new weapon systems.
00:33Still, armed with the faithful Abrams tank, the US Army is a veteran dreadnought to be reckoned with.
00:39American bases are not as confined as the Chimera nor as extended as the cartel bases,
00:44but they beat them both where sturdiness is concerned.
00:47Their refineries are amongst the cheapest to run in the world and their tankers have the greatest capacity.
00:52However, they're unable to process more advanced rare earth elements.
00:56The US Army bases require a substantial amount of electricity to run properly,
01:01especially for their defense systems, the Phalanx and the Patriot.
01:06Both Phalanx and Patriot will have to be kept plugged in at all times to be operational.
01:11Should the enemy deprive them of their power source,
01:13those deadly weapon systems will be instantly neutralized, opening a deadly breach in your defenses.
01:18US Army survey teams drive a specially modified Humvee rigged with geological equipment
01:23to identify the procedurally generated resources on the map.
01:26They are fast and able to quickly cover vast areas and are armed with a heavy machine gun,
01:31which makes them capable of performing military scouting and engagement with enemy infantry.
01:36In its barracks, the US Army enjoys the largest selection of immediately available infantry units,
01:41cheap and well-balanced.
01:43Riflemen, anti-attack, anti-air and mortar teams are at your disposal.
01:49Most US Army units can be upgraded individually in their original buildings
01:53or by groups in some dedicated research buildings, logistic centers and technical centers.
01:58Early, you'll decide to either deploy the light vehicle bay or the hospital,
02:02unlocking the ubiquitous Humvee for scouting and access to armored transport
02:05or, if choosing a hospital, medicalized helicopters to recover and treat the wounds of wounded soldiers.
02:10US Army units are experienced in their given roles
02:13and once upgraded are generally considered the best in their field.
02:17The reverse side of the coin is that they are mostly limited to their intended role
02:20and prove a powerful force perhaps lacking in diversity.
02:25Next time, discover the Chimera,
02:27a UNO-funded peacekeeping force in active aggression, coming 2015.
