00:05This is Max Schlagler, Senior Designer of 343 Industries.
00:08Today we want to show you a few cool features of the Master Chief Collection
00:12that will give you a reason to come back and replay these levels over and over again.
00:17So, as we take a look through our unified user interface here,
00:20under the Career section,
00:23you may have heard that the Master Chief Collection includes
00:264,000 gamer score, 400 achievements.
00:28It's a lot of stuff to take in.
00:30So, one of the things we wanted to do was to help organize and filter these.
00:33So, as you dig into the game, you can go by the game and the game type and mode
00:39and basically filter through what achievements are available.
00:42Now, this would be cool in and of itself, but we took it a step further
00:46and you can actually click on an individual achievement
00:49and then link directly to the area of the game
00:51with everything pre-configured for you to go ahead and tackle that achievement.
00:57This leads nicely into the next feature that we wanted to talk about,
01:01which is how we have layered in some new systems for campaign scoring and speedrunning.
01:06So, as you browse through levels, you'll notice that there's a widget down here
01:11that shows you the top scores or the fastest times for completing that level.
01:18Now, this is just a small version of this particular leaderboard,
01:21but as you click on a name here, what you'll find is that you link directly to the full leaderboard
01:25there
01:26for that particular mission and the difficulty.
01:29And you can see some additional stats on the score, the time, kills, and things like that.
01:34Now, as you browse this leaderboard, you can look at individual player details here,
01:39and there's another new feature we've layered in,
01:42which is the ability to actually set a leaderboard entry as a rival.
01:46Now, when you do this, that player effectively becomes someone you can measure your progress against
01:53as you play at the level in real time.
01:56So, we've added in some new options here in the UI that allow you to basically turn on,
02:01do you want to track your score in real time, your time, different things like that.
02:06So, we're going to go ahead and launch into this level.
02:10This is Halo 4 Composer and demonstrate how the campaign scoring feature itself works in real time.
02:32Okay, now, as we jump into the level, you can see down in the lower right corner,
02:36the HUDs that are now enabled, that have been layered into each game,
02:40that show you in real time what your current time is, your current score,
02:45and how you compare to the player that you have set as your rival.
02:50And you'll also notice that as you play through the game,
02:53you're going to see a bunch of medals pop up here,
02:55and that's the campaign medals that are tracked for things like
02:59like streaks and sprees,
03:03you know, style medals for doing cool things with specific weapons,
03:07or, you know, getting headshots, or EMP kills, that kind of thing.
03:13And obviously, the more you're able to,
03:17the harder you're able to turn up the difficulty
03:19and configure the skulls and pile on your style multipliers,
03:23the more points you get for the different things that you do throughout the campaign here.
03:30So, again, you get multiple kills quickly in a row,
03:34you get some melee kills,
03:38assassinations,
03:39all these things will give you bonus points on top of the base score for Anthony.
03:46And you'll notice that as you play through it,
03:48and you observe the HUD in the lower right corner,
03:50you'll see which current segment you're on.
03:52Each level is going to have a series of segments,
03:54so you can see basically where you're at for that particular part of level.
04:00And so you can see, you know, are you ahead or behind?
04:03The bar will actually turn red or green,
04:05depending on whether you've surpassed your rival score or fallen behind.
04:13Okay, so as we approach this room over here,
04:17we're going to start to see the next segment flip over.
04:19And you can see down at the bottom,
04:20the previous and split time has been updated.
04:22So you can see I'm 3,000 points ahead of my rival,
04:25which is great.
04:26And the segment has turned green up at the top of that bar there.
04:31And that just lets me know I'm ahead.
04:33So if I keep doing well, I'll hopefully end up ahead of my rival there.
04:37And, you know, if any particular segment turns red,
04:40I'll know that I got to do a little bit better in that next room
04:43or the next area and get ahead of them.
04:47This is Max from 343 Industries.
04:51And just giving you a little taste of some of the cool systems
04:54that we're layering onto the Master Chief Collection
04:56to give you some cool reasons to come back
04:58and check out these levels over and over again.
05:01Thank you.
