00:43Also, Ryan Noob on Straight Rippin is on the third level of the Pink Tower setting up the Ground Pound,

00:48Of course, the Ground Pound, a new Spartan ability in Halo 5 Guardians, the multiplayer beta,
00:53and that will allow you to take out an opponent only if you hit a direct kill.
00:57Yep, and I actually saw one of the players holding the Prophet's Bane, which is the new Legendary Energy Sword
01:04that is going to be found in the multiplayer beta.
01:07If you actually grab it, and let's switch over because Straight Sick has it.
01:10Finding him, he's actually going to go for it here as he thruster packs to the side.
01:14That's a new thing that you can do by pressing the B button.
01:17Straight Sick is going to get taken out.
01:18Let's jump over to T-Squared as he comes off of the respawn, but the Prophet's Bane, Legendary Energy Sword,
01:25and when you have it, you get increased movement speed, and with the Smart Scope, which we'll get into in
01:30a little bit,
01:30you actually get increased lunge range.
01:33And look, another player from the Blue Team has it, and T-Squared is going to get taken out.
01:36That was going to be Pistola with the Prophet's Bane.
01:39Yeah, Pistola, of course, a skilled Halo player going up against another Halo Legend, T-Squared.
01:44Gets the better of him with that Prophet's Bane.
01:46Now, using the thruster pack to go backwards, making sure he can retreat to safety.
01:49Also picking up the assist.
01:51Nice stuff here from Optic Gaming.
01:52They're up 8-5.
01:53Now, you see Pistola here with the battle rifle, the trusty battle rifle that everyone knows and loves in the
01:58Halo world.
01:59And wait a minute, the Prophet's Bane is going to wait for the first one.
02:01Able to take him out with the second.
02:03That player, though, pushing up over to the tower as it's actually going to be Pink Tower 2.
02:08You can see it right there, right at the top of your screen, right at the top of the map.
02:12All the callouts courtesy of the pro team at 3-4-3.
02:16And one thing I want to take note of as well, you saw that his shields did not recharge right
02:20away.
02:20That's because if you're sprinting, that bar there does not go down.
02:25And you can see it actually trailing down just a little bit.
02:27And as soon as that happens, that's when the shields, as well as your health, comes back into play.
02:31That's right.
02:31If you have been damaged at all, your shields will not recharge if you do continue to sprint.
02:35So that's a new balancing mechanic that's going to be brand new to Halo 5 Guardians.

02:39And let's take a look over at Roy of Straight Rippin, who has the DMR making a return here.
02:44And Halo 5 Guardians, good for the long range, though.
02:47But if you maneuver too much, you might lose yourself on the site there.
02:51Roy trying to get away with a thruster.
02:53Not going to happen at all.
02:55Who do you want to jump on board with, Bravo?
02:56Let's go ahead and see what's going on with Snipedown.
02:58And of course, a well-known Halo player just lended that new perfect kill medal, which
03:01is a perfect four-shot kill with the BR.
03:03Now gives his team a 17-11 lead.
03:06As a reminder, this is the first time these players are getting another perfect kill.
03:09Snipedown is shooting perfectly right now.
03:11He's finally going to get taken out, probably around the pink one.
03:13But as a reminder, this is the first time these teams are playing this game, and it's
03:16been a great match so far.
03:18And you saw Snipedown utilize the Smart Scope there for the Battle Rifle.
03:23Now, the cool thing about this is that D-Scope is making a return to Halo 5 Guardians.
03:28But you get full mobility.
03:30Pretty much, it's as you know and love it.
03:32And of course, two-time zoom on the Battle Rifle.
03:34Nothing has really changed there.
03:36Snipedown having to drop away as he gets cleaned up.
03:3922 to 15 as we jump over to Ace.
03:42Let's see what Ace is up to here.
03:44As you said, he has the DMR laying down some really nice shots and weakening an opponent.
03:48It looks like his teammate is going to push in there and try to clean up that kill.
03:51And try to pick up this base.
03:52But it looks like two players on the red team.
03:54Picks up one, gets the headshot and cannot connect on the second.
03:56Gets taken out.
03:57Yeah, his aim was a little bit all over the place there.

04:01I'm going to see what's up with Flamesword.
04:02He also has a DMR.
04:04These players on Optic Gaming seem to be favoring the DMR quite a bit.
04:07Yeah, they do right now.
04:08And it's actually done quite well.
04:09If you see, the score is in their favor now.
04:1225 to 17 with just over 8 minutes left in the match.
04:15And as a reminder, you're going to take a first look at the Halo 5 Guardians multiplayer beta.
04:19This is a true beta and a work in progress.

04:26And it's included within the Master Chief Collection.
04:28That's right, guys.
04:29And you see Flamesword taking advantage of the Thruster Pack.
04:32But remember, though, the Thruster Pack has about a 4-second cooldown, let's say, right?
04:38And you can't just spam it all over the place.
04:41It's meant for one of those quick getaways, but not so much for you to just be able to run
04:46away, right?
04:46You have to use it sparingly.
04:48And that is part of what they're implementing here into Halo 5 Guardians.
04:52A lot of the things come with trade-offs.
04:54If you want to use a ground pound, you expose yourself in the air, shoulder charge, you miss.
04:58You're pretty much done at that point.
04:59There's a lot of things that you have to be very liberal with.
05:02You can't just go around doing it willy-nilly or else, you know, you will pay the price.
05:06Yeah, here's Flamesword now, the captain of Optic Gaming's Halo team.
05:09They're doing quite well now, 32 to 19.
05:11As he looks across the map, great teamwork there.
05:13He picks up that kill, extending their lead a little bit further.
05:17Yeah, looking around to see what's up with Rya Noob here,
05:20a player who's adapted pretty well to some of the new mechanics here in Halo 5 Guardians, running away.
05:24Remember, if he keeps sprinting, he will not be able to recharge his shields.
05:29And despite him continuously running, he has to wait for that bar to go down.
05:33And now the shields come back up.
05:35Again, give or take.
05:36You can't just run around the whole map.
05:38You have to be careful.
05:39Yeah, let's talk a little bit more about this new Slayer game type.
05:42You know, playing to 50 kills as usual, 4v4, 12 minutes on the clock.
05:46Right now you're seeing Assault Rifle starts.
05:48One thing that has returned is weapons on map.
05:50No more ordnance.
05:51And also, power weapons are now deployed with the all-new weapon pad system.
05:54That's going to put power weapons on static timers.
05:56For example, the Prophet's Bane will come up every 4 minutes on this map.
06:01Yep.
06:01And another thing also to bear in mind, you had mentioned, right,
06:03positioning is going to come back into play.
06:05It's going to be super important in Halo 5 Guardians.
06:07If you want to utilize things like the ground pound, the shoulder charge,
06:11you need to be careful.
06:12Because if you do, you're going to give up key positioning around the map.
06:16So again, give or take.
06:18You have to be careful about those things.
06:20Ryan Noob going for the challenge, putting down a couple shots.
06:22His teammates waiting and seeing if he's going to push up there.
06:26And Ryan Noob looking to support.
06:28He's able to get that Headshot Avenger medal.
06:30Yeah, right now straight ripping.
06:31Still down by 10 kills, 28 to 38.
06:33And Optic Gaming still controlling this map as well as the scoreboard.

06:40I mean, I have to say, his shot has been impeccable.
06:43And we'll go over to Roy as well, who has the battle rifle.
06:46Hit the perfect kill, killing spree, and the protector medal as he drifts away 38 to 30.
06:51It seems like the red team straight ripping, trying to come back.
06:54Yeah, right now, as you said, down by 8 kills,
06:56but slowly reducing that margin that the Optic Gaming squad has on them.
07:00Roy, a player who traditionally has a fantastic shot,
07:03and it's no different here in Halo 5 Guardians.
07:06Looking for that kill, and he's able to get it.
07:08Finding another one across, and that's going to be a no.
07:11He will not be able to net that one.
07:13But an assist, though, and that's good for them.

07:17Straight ripping is coming back into this one.
07:19That's an amazing comeback.
07:20It looks like almost 10 unanswered kills right now.

07:28That will hold you in the air as you aim while in the air.
07:30You can toggle that off.
07:31Keep in mind, this is the earliest that Halo has ever had a beta,
07:34so we have a lot of different control schemes as well as toggles,
07:37so we can get feedback on what players really love about the game.
07:39Yeah, the purpose is to let you guys have input into this experience.
07:44Now it's going to be 40 to 38.
07:46It is a close game, a two-point game here.
07:49What better way to kick things off with this reveal?
07:51Roy, though, unfortunately has to be careful.
07:53Now jumping over to Snipedown,
07:54who's looking to continue to pad on to this lead as OpTic Gaming leads by four.
07:58That's right.
07:58Now, Snipedown was the player who just took down Roy,
08:00so I wanted to switch over to him.
08:02He sees a player on his radar nearby.
08:03He does have that battle rifle out.
08:05So we'll see if he can continue to deal the same damage he has done
08:08to help his team get this far.
08:09Oh, wait a minute.
08:10Two players are actually going to be Red 2 Snipedown getting shut down right away,
08:13but Ryanoob here for Straight Rippin'
08:15looking to bring his team back with this DMR,
08:18and he's going to continue to just float around the map over by Big Tower,
08:22and he does see that Red X making it 41 to 44.
08:25As you see on the bottom right of your screen,
08:27Profit's Bane will be spawning in 10 seconds,
08:29so both teams are going to be watching.
08:31That's because we're at the four-minute mark.
08:32That means that Power Weapon will be coming up in just a second,
08:35but it looks like Optic Gaming knows that it's going to be coming up as well,
08:37and Pistola has it in hand.
08:39Yeah, Pistola with the Profit's Bane.
08:40This could be a game-changer.

08:46Pistola is going to get taken out with a battle rifle there,
08:48and he has to be careful of the respawn
08:51because, you know what, there are so many, you know,
08:53the battle rifle DMR are scattered all across the map
08:55across various players.
08:56He finally is able to get a battle rifle.

09:02These two neck-and-neck and their first hands-on

09:24something that you will see players take advantage of
09:26as they want to get to better positions on the map.

10:37Bravo, what are your thoughts?
10:38We had both teams neck and neck throughout that entire match.
10:41In the end, Straight Rippin was able to pull it out by one kill,
10:43but amazing thruster pack play from Pistola as well.
10:46Yeah, that's right.
10:47And I'm really excited for a lot of the new mechanics,
10:49and I'm also excited to get my hands on this beta pretty soon.
10:51Yeah, we're also excited as a studio, of course,
10:53to get the players' feedback.
10:54As I mentioned, the Halo 5 Guardians multiplayer beta
10:56is going to be coming online December 29th,
10:58included within the Master Chief Collection.
10:59Also want to announce for the first time,
11:01we didn't get to show it today,
11:02but Halo 5 Guardians multiplayer beta
11:04will include a basic implementation of Spectator Mode
11:07for the first time in Halo,
11:08and the full feature is going to be ready for the release
11:10of Halo 5 Guardians next year.

11:16So you were the first to get a chance
11:18to play Halo 5 Guardians multiplayer.
11:20I need some initial reactions.
11:22It was fun.
11:23There was a bunch of new things
11:24that we had to learn how to use,
11:25thruster pack, shoulder charge, ground and pound,
11:28and as soon as the beta comes out,
11:30I can't wait to play more than an hour
11:31and just really try to see everything I can do in the game.
11:34And what's that like?
11:35Because there's so many new things,
11:36all these new Spartan abilities,
11:37and for you guys to just hop in there
11:39and start to play and try to figure it out,
11:41I mean, what was that like?
11:41Yeah, it definitely was really hard
11:43to kind of utilize each one of the different skill sets
11:46because there is a lot to learn.
11:48But I feel like if you put a lot of hours into the game
11:50and you learn to use each one in specific situations,
11:52they can be really effective
11:53and a great addition to the game.
11:55And unfortunately for you,
11:56you actually were only coaching,
11:57so you didn't get to play.
11:58So what's that like kind of going hands-on,
12:00well, not hands-on, but watching and helping out?
12:03It was amazing getting to check out the game,
12:05and I just noticed that every single game
12:07at certain points, someone was finding something new.
12:10They'd either get shoulder charged or ground pounded,
12:12and it just kept evolving throughout each game,
12:14so I think it's going to be a huge learning curve.
12:16So for these people that are so used to the old style,
12:19for them to pick this up on day one,
12:20what are some tips that you would have for them?
12:22I would say it's just going to take a lot of hours
12:24to kind of get down all of the different abilities
12:26that you can use,
12:27but it definitely makes the game
12:29probably one of the most versatile Halos
12:31that I've ever played
12:31just because there's so many different ways
12:33to kill the opponent.
12:34So December 29th, where will you be?
12:37In my room, locked doors,
12:39playing the beta nonstop,
12:41probably not showering and stuff like that,
12:42and just grinding until I'm the best
12:44Halo 5 beta Guardians player out there for sure.
12:47The good news is you're probably not going to be alone,
