NASA’s Artemis 2 moon rocket is back at the launch pad! The Space Launch System (SLS) rolled out to Launch Complex 39B at Kennedy Space Center on Friday, March 19, after three weeks of repairs inside the Vehicle Assembly Building. Engineers fixed an upper-stage helium pressurization issue and completed final electrical work, clearing the way for a potential liftoff as early as April 1.

Artemis 2 will be the first crewed mission of the Artemis program, sending NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and CSA astronaut Jeremy Hansen on a 10-day lunar flyby. The crew has now entered quarantine ahead of launch.

If the April 1 window isn’t met, backup opportunities run through April 6, with another window opening April 30.
