04:08When your colonies in the new world start getting gold,
04:12they will send the treasure fleets, so containing that gold and silver,
04:16which means that you will get all of the gold from your colonies.
04:19However, these treasure fleets are only sent like every few months,
04:23and any pirates between your colony and your home
04:27will intercept the treasure fleets and steal some of their gold.
04:31So while you will get a lot of wealth from the treasure fleets,
04:34other nations which don't have the gold might just send their pirates to steal it from you.
04:40In order to counteract this, we've added a feature called pirate hunting,
04:43where you can send your heavy ships on patrol against enemy pirates
04:47and prevent them from taking that gold.
04:49Probably the single biggest feature in El Dorado,
04:53and quite possibly the single biggest feature we've added to E4 since launch,
04:56is the nation designer.
04:58The way it works is that you simply, instead of picking, say, France, or England, or Spain,
05:04you click the custom nation button,
05:05and then you pick any province in the entire world to start from,
05:09and there your custom nation will appear.
05:11And from there you have a certain amount of points to spend.
05:14At that point you can spend on more provinces,
05:17you can spend it on having great rulers,
05:19you can spend it on having a particular government,
05:21or a particular technology group,
05:23or you can build your own entirely custom idea set.
05:27Create precisely the nation you want to create,
05:30whether it be a military superpower,
05:32or a trade-oriented nation,
05:34or a nation that has something about it that just clicks for you.
05:38To complement this, we have also added two new game modes
05:40that we call random and custom.
05:44Previously we had the random new worlds,
05:46which created a completely randomized new world instead of the traditional Americas.
05:50Random setup is not actually a random world per se,
05:53it does not change the land masses.
05:54What it does is completely change which nations start where.
05:58If you start in a random setup,
06:01it will have an empty map,
06:02and then you get to design the custom nation that you want to create,
06:05and when you click play,
06:06the world will be filled in by all of these nations that are not in places you expect.
06:11So you might have Denmark in Persia,
06:14Norway as a great empire in China,
06:16and so on,
06:17and it's a completely new experience each time.
06:21The custom setup is actually just that the map is empty.
06:25The only nations in the map are the ones you create.
06:28And here is where the nation designer also comes into play,
06:30because you cannot only make your own nation,
06:33you can make up to 32 different nations,
06:36and you don't have to play them.
06:38So you can actually create your own entirely custom world to play in using these features.
06:43We have also added the ability to either randomize or flatten,
06:48that is to say,
06:49set so they are all the same for the manpower and tax values in the provinces.
06:54So you have a lot more freedom in deciding what kind of game you want to play.
