00:04Welcome to the second part of the Witcher Battle Arena video tutorial.
00:09Last time we talked about basic rules of the game.
00:12Today we will focus on player profile and hero development.
00:16Our hero upgrade system is pretty unique when compared to other MOBA games.
00:20Each time you select a hero, you start to receive proficiency points
00:24which you can use to boost them, greatly influencing gameplay.
00:27Now we will show you how to develop your favorite character
00:30and make them an unrivaled force in the arena.
00:35You start in the main menu.
00:37Click on the characters tab where you will find the roster of all heroes.
00:41Grayed out characters are not yet in your possession.
00:44Heroes can be sorted by classes.
00:47You can do this by clicking on the mage, warrior and ranger tabs.
00:51This will make the selection process much easier for first time players.
00:56The number near the portrait shows the level of the selected hero.
00:59The little bar on the left indicates how much experience you need to level up.
01:04When you tap on one of the heroes, you will be moved to the hero's screen.
01:07Here you can see two segmented proficiency bars.
01:10They indicate the hero's development level.
01:13Item proficiency gives you access to extra pieces of gear.
01:16Today, however, we will focus on skill proficiency.
01:18While leveling your hero, you will receive special proficiency points,
01:22which you can use to upgrade your proficiencies.
01:24The higher the level is, the more items you can use
01:27and the more you can influence your skill set.
01:29It's really easy.
01:30You just move the slider to add points.
01:32You can easily see the threshold that you need to reach,
01:35as they are indicated on the bar.
01:37Now that you have added some points to the skill proficiency,
01:40you can start upgrading and tweaking the skills themselves.
01:43Tap on the clenched fist icon and you will be moved to another window.
01:47Here you can see three sliders which change various aspects of the selected skill.
01:52The system is pretty straightforward.
01:54When you move one of the sliders to the left,
01:56you are granted a point which you can use to upgrade another aspect of that skill.
02:00For example, you can make a skill stronger at the cost of cooldown time,
02:04if you so desire.
02:06With more points invested in proficiency,
02:08your impact on the skills grows exponentially.
02:12Also, you will be awarded an extra skill point at the last level.
02:16Thanks to the skill upgrading system,
02:18you will be able to create your own personalized hero who will suit your game style.
02:23If you prefer Letho to be more of a tank,
02:25you should upgrade the number of layers of the Quen sign and shorten cooldown time.
02:30This will allow you to soak in more attacks before receiving damage.
02:33On the other hand,
02:34if you prefer to play as a warrior assassin,
02:37you should add points to all damage-related aspects of a selected skill.
02:44Changes to gameplay made possible by this system are visible at first glance.
02:48Here, you can see Yorveth's Driven by Hatred skill unmodified.
02:52Here, the length of the shot was altered at the cost of its width.
02:56Philippa Eilhart can shapeshift into an owl,
02:59creating a damage-dealing field around her.
03:01Depending on how you adjust the skill,
03:03the field can be smaller,
03:04but last longer,
03:05or the other way around,
03:07bigger at the cost of duration.
03:12Learning all the tricks and discovering the best skills and aspect combinations will take some time,
03:17but eventually you will learn to tweak the hero to your own style of play.
