04:12That's one thing that's really unique to this game, as opposed to past our Fox games,
04:16is the change of pace here.
04:18As he flies into the ship, he becomes a walker.
04:20He was just confirming his controls there.

04:23Checking his controls to make sure everything's good.
04:25So this is like, it looks like a totally different game almost.

04:29He's doing some platforming.
04:31He's doing some kind of like more, you know, waiting and can remain stationary.
04:36And you're just kind of taking these enemies out in a completely different way than a normal
04:40Star Fox game.
04:40And you can see that he's got this hover ability now.
04:43And another thing you'll notice, please don't adjust your TV screen.
04:47The ship that he's in is kind of pitching and leaning as he's going through it, which
04:52is something he has to, you know, struggle with to make sure he stays on the right path.

04:57And these maneuvers that the walker has, it looks like a chicken to me.
04:59I call it the chicken walker.

05:01Not the official term, however.
05:04But he, you know, he's able to strafe.
05:06He's able to, you know, barrel roll as any good Star Fox vehicle can.
05:11You can still do a barrel roll as a chicken.

05:13You can boost, you can hover as you see to get over objects like this.

05:22I do like how they're making you use the new abilities you have in this form right away.

05:27And obviously, you know, they're telling you how to do it because this is a demo for people at E3.
05:32But, sorry, that was kind of scary.
05:36You can see Morgan's also still using the cockpit view even in this walker mode to help him aim.
05:42It's super useful when you need to have really specific targeting.
05:46And what's cool is if like you want to look at the TV, but you still want to be in
05:49cockpit mode, you can actually switch back and forth between them.
05:55Yeah. And this is like a platforming section of a Star Fox game, which is crazy.
06:00Before he was avoiding these kind of like laser beams that were kind of going back and forth.
06:06And this is all one stage and you're getting all, you know, the corridor shooting gameplay now, you know, this
06:11platforming section.
06:11So, I do love the variety.

06:14These golden rings are kind of like secrets you can find in stages.
06:17Yeah, but he certainly didn't have to go up there.

08:17So, Eric's going to take us back through a mission that we actually showed on the first
08:21day, which is going to be Area 3, which is one of the ones that we have playable on the
08:26show floor.

08:27But we've got a little sort of, you know, all of these missions we're showing, they're
08:32still in various stages of development.
08:33And this one, we're going to have a little treat at the end that we haven't shown yet.

08:37I haven't seen this either, so I'm looking forward to it.
08:41So, this is Area 3.
08:42And what's cool is, we've talked a little bit about this, you know, the developers from
08:45Platinum, Mr. Hashimoto, the director of the game from Platinum, and Mr. Hayashi, who's
08:50the director of the game at Nintendo.
08:52They talked a lot about the work they're putting into, just the visual style, obviously, and
08:56the gameplay style, but also the sound design.
08:59No, I mean, Platinum is known for their attention to detail and just, like, high voltage action
09:04game, so I'm super excited that they're involved in this.
09:09And you guys already talked about this, but they've piped the character voices out of these
09:12cockpits to give people the feeling like voices are in their head.
09:15But when this game comes out, it's going to have this 3D audio feature where the gamepad
09:18sounds like your teammates.
09:21Right.
09:21It's going to feel like it's coming out of your ears, even though it's coming out of the
09:23gamepad speakers.
09:24Now we are getting some of the English voice that you guys have recorded already, which is
09:27cool.
09:32So this is sort of a classic Star Fox scene.
09:35You know, it's sort of like that.
09:36You're able to fly in 360 degrees.
09:39It's a classic, like, space dogfight, man.
09:41We're seeing something different than we saw in the previous stage.
09:44He's in all range mode right now in kind of this dogfight scene.
09:48You've got to shoot down a certain number of enemies before a certain event is going to
09:52happen.
09:53You can see him working the...
09:57That's Pigma.
09:58We saw him on day one, but I kind of never get tired of seeing him.

10:02He's kind of a bounty hunter.

10:05He used to be a good guy back in the day on Team Star Fox.
10:08He got turned to the dark side.

10:10He'll pretty much do any mission for a paycheck.
10:11He'll bring back all these Star Fox memories for me.
10:16You can see Eric using the target view there.
10:18That's when you use the ZL trigger to sort of lock the TV view on whatever your objective

10:31Which is helpful because when you're in space, you don't have a 360 degree view around you.

10:35But since you have that split screen perspective on the gamepad and the TV, being able to lock
10:40one of them onto something behind you and sort of know where you need to go and then use
10:44the gamepad to target it, it's really great.

10:47So Smitty's using like a combination of different techniques to try and keep track of Pigma.
10:52He's got this Summersault.

11:02So you've kind of got to use all of those in this dogfight.

16:05We also saw Mr. Hayashi play with the gyro wing, and also drop the direct eye, so...

16:12They've done a cool thing where, like, each vehicle is, like, familiar, but then has, like, a new transformation.

16:18And Mr. Miyamoto even mentioned how it's actually pretty fun to sort of try out the missions.
16:22Maybe if you blaze through it the first time with one vehicle, maybe try to, like, rely a little more
16:26heavily on the walker or the Grab Master, things like that.
