03:32The League of Assassins are not the only threat that Batman is going to be taking on.
03:36We sat down with some of Rocksteady's biggest brainiums
03:39to get the full story on all of the supervillains
03:41who are going to be crash-landing into Gotham City
03:43in this, the Season of Infamy.
03:47Oh, fraptious day, kaloo kalay.
03:50The Batman's here.
03:53It's time to play.
03:55It's been really good fun bringing Mad Hatter back for Season of Infamy.
03:57For me personally, he's one of those villains that really, really gets up your nose.
04:01I really want to throttle him.
04:02And he's back to antagonize Batman.
04:05Victor.
04:06They took Nora because of you.
04:10It was interesting to bring Mr. Freeze back.
04:13Last time we saw it in Arkham City, we had a big fight with him.
04:16We changed his suit from a battle armor suit
04:19to more the scientist side of it.
04:22It was really good to bring Killer Croc back.
04:24Everyone was quite excited because he's different
04:26to some of the other villains that we've been working with.
04:29Croc has changed a lot since we first seen him in Arkham Asylum
04:32and when we see him in Arkham Knight, his condition has obviously got worse.
04:35It's meant he's become stronger, faster, more animalistic.
04:39He's the real quintessential monstrous villain in the kind of Arkhamverse.
04:42Do they live or die?
04:45That's up to you.
04:47Quite an unusual situation that we find ourselves in with Mad Hatter.
04:50Actually handed himself in to GCPD under suspicious circumstances.
04:54So Batman's mission is to go back and interrogate him.
04:57Don't make me put that to the test.
04:59The story for Killer Croc is there's an airship that crash lands.
05:02And it gets set up that you have to go investigate this area.
05:05The first thing we bang our head on is what can we do in the city itself
05:09for each different villain to make something fresh and new.
05:14There's a whole new wing of GCPD.
05:16So we've built three new rooms.
05:18One of them is a new interview room where Mad Hatter will be located
05:20waiting for you to come interrogate him.
05:22There's a new wing full of cells
05:24where all the new villains from the season of Infamy will be locked up.
05:27and an evidence cabinet where we'll pick up some trophies along the way.
05:30And lots of little secrets and details and backstory.
05:33All the kind of things that make the GCPD a colourful and interesting place.
05:36We've done that all over again in a whole new little area.
05:38The airship in the Croc storyline aligns with the horror story we're trying to tell
05:42because obviously it's that claustrophobic feeling
05:44and you've got Batman in there trying to get to Croc.
05:46and I guess that kind of does parallel with the Arkham Asylum
05:49in as much as it was a prison with that claustrophobic kind of feel.
05:53To create that very big package for DLC
05:55what it brings to us is just like we need to keep the quality as high as possible
06:00in parallel with what we've produced in the main game.
06:03Meaning like brand new environments, brand new characters
06:05but like AAA quality.
06:10The world's most comfortable couch has had to be reinforced.
06:13It is now the couch of steel
06:15because we're welcoming two Rocksteady heavyweights
06:17to talk about the 2008 movie Batsuit.
06:25Game director Sefton Hill and lead character artist Albert the King.
06:29Sefton, this Batsuit was not in the original plan was it?
06:32How is it that we're even looking at it today?
06:34It was really from the community.
06:35You know our great fans got onto us on Twitter
06:38and said like this is the Batsuit that I grew up with.
06:41this is the one from the films that really resonated with me
06:44so we really want to see it in the game.
06:46We were really excited by what they wanted
06:47so I called up DC and Warner Brothers and said
06:50guys like I really think we need to do this
06:52can we work with the film guys and actually get this in the game
06:54and thankfully you know everyone was on board and said
06:56yeah we've got to do this for the fans
06:58so kind of that's how it happened.
06:59So it really was fan power that made us do it
07:02and we're really thankful that we did.
07:03It's really hard to appreciate how much work these guys put into the Batsuit.
07:07can take 16, 18 weeks solid of work working on every single rivet and bolt and piece of material
07:13so it's not a small amount of work.
07:15So once DC gave you the go ahead
07:17you then just strolled over and dropped the hammer on Albert and his team.
07:20Albert, for such an iconic Batsuit this must have been severe pressure for you and your guys to deliver.
07:25It was pressure but it was also excitement.
07:29There was something that had been cooking in our minds for a while
07:32like it's one of the best Batsuits ever created
07:35so we thought let's have our take on it
07:37and yeah the challenge was to match the reference as much as possible.
07:41There are loads of pieces, loads of details
07:43and everyone's seen this suit like a million times
07:46so getting anything right like the position of the belt
07:49two centimeters up or down or any of the details that are in the torso
07:53so if they were kind of moved around a bit it would already look a bit fake
07:57and that was not the idea, the idea was we wanted to look at the film.
08:01Sweet, well I think when the history books are written of the games industry
08:04and Batman Arkham Knight in particular
08:05Albert, you're going to be remembered for three things
08:07Number one, creating some seriously kick-ass characters for this game
08:10Number two, this line
08:12It was me.
08:13And thirdly, this exceptional work on the 2008 movie Batsuit
08:17created in record time, you must be incredibly proud of the work that you and your team have done.
08:21Yeah, we're very proud to make the fans happy.
08:25Awesome, and Sefton for you, it must be a very emotional time
08:27because it's not just the end of Batman Arkham Knight
08:30it's sort of the end of Rocksteady's time with the Arkham Trilogy.
08:33I mean, what's going on in your head at the moment?
08:36I mean, it's been a very emotional and exciting journey for us
08:39I've always said it's a tremendous privilege and honor
08:42to be kind of the custodians of the Batman universe
08:45and to live this for nearly ten years
08:49to be thinking about the big guy and all the adventures
08:52and coming up with new and exciting things we can do in that world
08:55for that huge period of time, it's been amazing, energizing, emotional
09:01It's been incredible and I really hope that the fans are happy with the work that we've done
09:06you know, that we've been able to let people become the Batman
09:09and really enjoy his world for such a long period of time.
09:12So Sefton, are you saying categorically that this is the end of the road for Rocksteady and Batman?
09:17We're ****
09:19Sefton, Albert, two juggernauts of the studio, thank you for your time today
09:22that was the 2008 movie Batsuit powered by the community

09:32So that is it for 2015, the year in which Batman Arkham Knight was launched
09:36and we busted through six months of explosive DLC
09:39It has been a real blast bringing you all that extra content
09:43and extending the life of the game well beyond launch
09:45So when the December DLC drops down your chimney and you fire up the season of infamy
09:50In fact, any time you look at the skyline of your city at night
09:53When you encounter injustice, wherever you may find it
09:56you better know what to do by now
