00:00Biggest upset in the NCAA tournament in a couple of years, as not only does the 12 beat the five,
00:06but high point was at least 10 point favorites going into this game.
00:10So naturally, Flynn Clayman, feeling like there was a chip on his shoulder for his high point squad, talked about
00:16the win after the game.
00:22Couldn't be more proud of this team. In the summer, when we get those shot tracker numbers back, and there's
00:2963 schools in the country to have it, and we're number one every week in shots taken, they could talk
00:34about whatever we have, but we're working.
00:37We're selfless, and it's pretty obvious to me that something needs to be done about this non-conference scheduling.
00:45High Point and Miami, Ohio are 2-0 in Quad 1 games. We couldn't get games. They couldn't get games.
00:51Akron couldn't get games. UNCW couldn't get games. Belmont couldn't get games.
00:55We won 22 of our last 23 games, and we didn't move up one spot in the metrics. Not one.
01:00We won 22 of our 23. We've won 25 games by double digits.
01:05That team right there is a fantastic team that beat five top 10 teams. If we can get games like
01:11this on neutral courts and some home games, I think we'd know who's really the best teams.
01:14I'm proud of these dudes, and we're not just here to win one game. We're here to get to the
01:18Sweet 16.
01:18First of all, congratulations at High Point. They played a terrific game, hit some unbelievable shots, and that's the heartache
01:28that comes with this tournament,
01:29is that the team plays exceptionally well, and you get sent home when you don't take care of things you
01:37need to take care of.
01:38But I'm extremely proud of my group to get us to this point. They've grown immensely.
01:43These three guys to my right have come a long, long ways, both in their play, but also in their
01:49leadership
01:50and their ability to handle adversity and grow. Extremely proud of them. As I told them in the locker room,
01:58the worst part is we don't get to go to practice again together, and how this group has grown together,
02:05they'll have something. Today sucks. Today stings. But they'll look back at how far they've come
02:14and what they've accomplished this year together, and do that with a lot of pride with the bonds that they've
02:20formed
02:20over the past six months.
02:23Everybody is talking about High Point, Joe, as they should be, because that is the story today.
02:27But there is a flip side to that, which is that Wisconsin hasn't won a game in the NCAA tournament
02:33since 2017.
02:35Greg Gard has been the head coach of Wisconsin all the way back.
02:38He's won in seven in his last eight tournament tries. So naturally, all the credit does go to High Point.
02:45But if you are Wisconsin, and you go to that school, and you're a student, and you're heading toward the
02:49tournament next year,
02:50I don't know how you can have confidence. I just got to be honest.
02:56You can't. That's the problem, right? And that's it. You know, you are what your record says you are, right,
03:01Craig?
03:02Ultimately, at the end of the day, and when it comes to tournament play, Red Guard, Wisconsin,
03:08yeah, you can't make it out of the first weekend. And that is not, you know, that's an issue now.
03:14We've had enough of a sample size, Craig, where we got to go, yeah, there's something lacking with this program
03:20right now.
03:20A few seconds left, hundreds of years ago, and we've had enough of a sample size that we could have
03:20been the same.
03:20We've had enough of a sample size.
