00:00So Michigan here coming up at one o'clock and not to worry, we won't go game by game by
00:04game all the way throughout. We'll mix in some other things. This is a great opportunity with this game to
00:09do so. Some bigger picture thoughts between Michigan and Wisconsin. And we started a little bit earlier in terms of
00:14what's at stake for Michigan. But, you know, you look through at what is obviously a 30 and two team.
00:20It's two losses. Duke, sure, one of the top teams in the country, one of the favorites to win the
00:25national championship.
00:26But the very first one coach came all the way back in January, January 10th against this Wisconsin team. It
00:32was 91 to 88. So clearly the Badgers have an affinity for hanging around, which makes you ask, I guess,
00:39a couple of different questions. One, do the Badgers do the same thing when you're looking at another gigantic spread?
00:46Just kind of keep it interesting, even if Michigan does win this game versus the dog winning outright. Or is
00:51this that bounce back from Michigan?
00:53Not only in the head-to-head, but off of, again, what we saw yesterday in a narrow survival of
00:58Ohio State?
01:00Yeah, I think when you look at it, AK, because of the fact of the narrow win and the fact
01:06that Michigan wasn't impressive, I think that's when you're in a game.
01:10You have Dusty May that literally has a coach, guys, has two ways he can walk into the locker room.
01:15Number one, he walks into the locker room and says, this team picked you off in your own building earlier
01:21in the year so they can beat you.
01:22You also have come off a performance against a rival where you did not play well, where you almost get
01:28picked off.
01:29So to me, that is where you drum up intensity from your team, a Michigan team that's been really good
01:38this entire season.
01:39And you're right, AK, listen, if Duke somehow slips up, I think there's going to be interesting conversations
01:47because obviously there is the fact of what Michigan is doing the entire year.
01:52But Florida's eye test is going to make it very compelling how far they move up that one seed line
02:00if they win the SEC,
02:02if Houston can pick off Arizona, which I think is very, very possible.
02:07And then what happens with Duke?
02:09So to me, everybody kind of locks into these are these one seeds.
02:14They're still positioning because of the snake.
02:17And then to get into it a little bit deeper with the Big Ten is you also don't want to
02:21try and have teams match up with each other
02:23in the same league in the finals in regards to your conference play.
02:27So now what do we do about Michigan State?
02:29They lost.
02:29What do we do about Illinois?
02:30They lost.
02:31There's teams that are jockeying all over the place, Adam, not just for that one line,
02:36but even that two and three seed line, very interesting what's going to happen today.
02:41But for Michigan, I think they come out with a lot of intensity.
02:44That's why I love them in the first half.
02:47Michigan minus 220 to win the Big Ten, followed by Purdue at plus 260.
02:51Then you start to get into the longer odds.
02:53Wisconsin 12-1, UCLA at 17-1.
02:57Does Michigan need the win today, not to get a one seed, but the one seed,
03:01the number one overall seed in the field of 68?
03:05I think the head-to-head with Duke is going to cost them the overall one seed, in my opinion.
03:10So I think Duke will probably win that out, even though the quad record, obviously, for Michigan is outstanding,
03:19and their play has been outstanding for the entire year.
03:21So I think that's something that's of note is that head-to-head matchup.
03:25Adam, it's amazing.
03:27We can go into the NCAA tournament and think that they're going to look at quads, they're going to look
03:31at net.
03:32When you look at net, they look at strength and schedule.
03:34They look at strength and schedule, they look at how you're playing.
03:36They look at how you're playing, they look at who's hurt.
03:38So to me, it's a crap shoot of where they go.
03:41But for me, for me personally, over the totality of the year, because of the head-to-head matchup at
03:47a neutral site,
03:49Duke, to me, is that number one seed, followed by Michigan.
03:52And then it gets kind of dicey, because like I said before, the way Florida's playing,
03:56they can move themselves up with a dominating performance in the SEC tournament.
