00:59Once TMZ posted the video, ABC said, it's canceled.

01:42Court records say that Taylor Frankie Paul hit her ex multiple times.
01:46This was back in 2023.
01:47And threw some things at him, like household objects, including metal chairs.
01:52Paul was charged with assault, criminal mischief and domestic violence in the presence of a child that year and pleaded
01:56guilty to aggravated assault.
01:58Now, in light of this new video that came out, ABC's parent company, Disney, says they will not move forward
02:03with the new season of The Bachelorette.
02:04They say the focus is on supporting the family.
02:07A spokesperson for Paul tells us she's grateful for ABC support as she prioritizes her family, saying she has suffered
02:13years of mental and physical abuse and now has the strength to face her, quote, accuser, as they put it.
02:18I want to bring in Liz Kreutz is covering this one for us.
02:21And this has been we covered it on the show yesterday.
02:23This has been bubbling.
02:24And now this really, I think, dramatic move for what is kind of a tentpole franchise for Disney and ABC.
02:31Yeah, Holly, this is a big, huge deal for ABC network.
02:34And this has been, I'm sure, a major PR crisis behind the scenes as they made this decision.
02:39This is a show that they have been promoting for months now.
02:42This is The Bachelorette, one of their flagship shows.
02:44And I think what particularly made them make this decision, it sounds like, is this video that just was released
02:50by TMZ.
02:51And even though this domestic violence incident is something that Taylor Frankie Paul has talked about now, it was actually
02:57a storyline on the first season of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.
03:00Some of the new details that are coming out are what people are now seeing, including the video showing that
03:06her daughter was in the room as this was happening.
03:09So, yeah, the other show, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, also in limbo due to her behavior.
03:14Hulu has paused production.
03:16They're right in the middle of filming season five right now, but they've stopped it.
03:19As for the cancellation of The Bachelorette, they say it's going to cost ABC upwards of $50 million.
03:26Because not only do they lose advertisers and, you know, they've already paid for this production.
03:31They've already produced most of the shows.
03:34Yeah.
03:35They also have tie-ins on this show.
03:37So if they go to Indonesia at this incredible resort, it's all bought and paid for.
03:43With the understanding it's going to get on TV.
03:47It's going to get airtime.
03:48So because it doesn't get airtime, they have to pay for everything they did on the show now.
