00:09Hi, I'm Martin and we're at Coldwood today and we're going to make a Yarny doll.
00:13First thing, you're going to need some wire, some yarn, obviously, red and white, paperclips, pliers, scissors, might be good.
00:20So the first thing you build is like a wire skeleton.
00:24I make like a U-shape for the legs and the body.
00:27So there's my body and my legs. Pretty good.
00:31The next part is the arms.
00:34So once again I'll go like a double length.
00:37The next step is to just like try to stick these to the body.
00:40So what I do is just I put them here and I take a piece of wire and I just
00:42twist it around to lock it in place.
00:46Okay, so next part, the head.
00:49So it's a good idea to exaggerate the points of the ears a bit.
00:54And the way I attach the head to the body as well is just I leave a lot of excess
00:59wire.
00:59And then I kind of wrap it around these to just lock it on there.
01:05So it's starting to look like something.
01:09The next part is kind of optional but I think it's better.
01:12So you make a bit of a frame for the body.
01:15And it's also good to make the legs more possible because you can kind of put more wire around the
01:21hips so you know where to bend them.
01:22It's good to put some frame like this on the head as well because then you can sort of build
01:26up the volume a bit.
01:27Something like that.
01:29Now we have skeleton yarny.
01:31Now we start to wrap this stuff up in yarn.
01:33I start with the legs.
01:34You can wrap it pretty tightly.
01:37Actually you can kind of like mix it up.
01:40Wrap some loose loops and some harder ones.
01:43So moving on to wrap the body.
01:45This is going to take a while.
01:47What I do usually is that make some kind of overlap here.
01:50So it's like a loose hanging shirt or a dress or whatever.
01:54Just try to give it like try to make it slightly wider here and slightly thinner here.
01:58You can kind of see the shape of the wire through it so you can try to hide that.
02:03Okay.
02:03Moving on to the head then.
02:05It's not super hard but it's kind of tricky.
02:07Just kind of want to be mindful of the shape so you don't start to get too blobby somewhere.
02:13And then when I'm done with that I'm just gonna basically use the paper clip and sew the wire in.
02:29So this is going to look brutal.
02:31So sensitive ears might not watch when I stab yarning through the heart with a paper clip.
02:38And I can do that a couple times until I know that this is not going to come out.
02:42So now this one just needs some ice.
02:45And I do that on the same way.
02:46Just take some yarn, take the paper clip and just...
02:49So there's no like real strategy to this.
02:52I just kind of poked it in there and see what happens.
02:56So there it is.
02:58I'm pretty happy with that.
03:00I'm looking forward to seeing what you guys create.
03:02It's gonna be fun.
03:04Good luck and have fun.
03:05Thanks for watching.
