00:00This video will be taking a look at a comparison between DirectX 9 Legacy RV rendering and DirectX 11 Infusion
00:08rendering within the current internal DAISY development build.
00:13Now keep in mind the video you're seeing is in a odd non-standard resolution because the capture is coming
00:19directly from an internal development client not ready for experimental or stable branch.
00:26The example in this video will be between DirectX 9 Real Virtuality Legacy rendering technology and DirectX 11 Work in
00:35Progress Infusion technology.
00:38In upcoming status reports we'll be talking about performance related improvements. This video should serve as a visual reference to
00:46the current status as well as comparison against DirectX 9 Legacy rendering technology.
00:52Here on the main menu you see an unskinned early technical prototype of functionality for the main menu changes with
00:58the new UI.
01:00Statistics that you see above are per character and tracked on the central DAISY hive.
01:07And stay tuned after the video if you'd like to see me running around in a rainstorm in Electro ringing
01:12a dinner bell.
01:20As I'm sure a lot of people have noticed, a lot of the images, video and references coming out in
01:24relation to the DirectX 11 renderer over the last few weeks has featured a good amount of rain.
01:30And that's specifically because, as mentioned in the status report, the engine programming team is working on the Similweather and
01:36TruSky implementation into the DirectX 11 renderer.
01:39At the build we're looking at right now, one of the bugs the team has to deal with when they
01:44get back into work on Monday is the fact that the server is perpetually raining.
01:53However, I found this is a good example between the stark contrast between the DirectX 9 existing client and the
01:59DirectX 11 early implementation.
02:03There are plenty of bugs that the engine team are still working on as well as optimization passes that need
02:08to be done before we even consider running an experimental build.
02:15It is worth noting that while both the old DirectX 9 client and the Work in Progress and Fusion client
02:22that you see featured in this video both received a hit on performance while recording locally on the same machine
02:29that's playing.
02:30The Work in Progress and Fusion client, however, had a marked performance increase in the way of 30-40%
02:37over the Legacy client.
02:42Now I know a lot of people are going to get excited as we start to talk about implementing the
02:47Infusion Engine's renderer into DayZ, myself included, but I think it's important that we all keep our expectations tempered.
02:54This is, after all, work in progress software in development.
02:57When it hits the experimental branch, we are going to see plenty of bugs, plenty of issues, and the best
03:04way that we can all participate in knocking these out as soon as possible is to use the feedback tracker,
03:10to submit data on your bugs, and let the developers know when you encounter a problem.
03:17Again, this is a very early work in progress implementation of the Infusion Engine's rendering technology.
03:23As we mentioned before, our goal for the initial implementation was a one-to-one visual parity with how DayZ
03:29looked prior.
03:34As we begin to iterate upon this early work in progress version of Infusion's rendering technology, and move past the
03:41goal of one-to-one visual parity with DayZ's legacy rendering technology,
03:45we can look forward to extensive bug fixing, optimization passes, new particle effects, and improved lighting.
04:09Moving towards our beta goal, we'd like to utilize our YouTube channel a little bit more.
04:14So if you have any ideas, questions, or comments on the type of stuff you'd like to see on the
04:18DayZDev YouTube channel,
04:20please send us a tweet over at at DayZDevTeam, the official DayZDevTeam Twitter.
04:24Thanks for taking a look, guys, and we hope to see you next time.
04:37No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,

05:38Is that a chicken?
05:39That's a chicken.
05:41That's a chicken.
05:43Oh, shit.
05:46Where's it?
05:48It's good.
05:49It's going to be easier with blackout.
05:55Come on upstairs.
06:18There we go.
06:25I didn't like to see it.
06:27It's raining fog.
06:29I don't know.
06:34I don't know.
06:40I don't know.
06:46I think we're good.
06:48I don't know.
07:11Sì, sì, sì.
07:23E' un'altra cosa.
07:53Grazie a tutti.
