00:05There's a very good word in Swedish called via mood.
00:08It's best translated as a kind of beautiful melancholy,
00:11like looking back with love at something that you've lost.
00:14It's often used to describe this part of the world,
00:16and it's something we've absolutely tried to bring across in the music.
00:22Music is one of our most important storytelling tools.
00:26Unravels' story is told entirely without words,
00:28so the music sort of becomes the voice of the game.
00:33Just like with a story, our goal with the music is to establish the mood and the atmosphere.
00:38It's there to draw you in, to set your imagination off,
00:41and inspire you to think and to feel.
00:44The story we've imagined deals with themes like love and longing and mending broken bonds.
00:50We wanted our music to reflect that.
00:52It had to be capable of both breaking your heart and putting it back together again.
00:58We turned to two local composers to help us create the soundtrack,
01:01Henrik Oja and Frida Johansson.
01:04It felt like an important choice to work with locals for several reasons.
01:09They share our roots.
01:10They really deeply understand what we're trying to portray,
01:13what all our environments should sound like.
01:16They used local folk music and traditional instruments as a starting point,
01:20and then they built this really beautiful soundtrack that feels very distinctly and uniquely unraveled.
01:27The music changes dynamically to match and enhance the gameplay,
01:30and it gives every setting its own unique atmosphere.
01:33There's something quite magical about watching people who are truly great at their craft,
01:37and I think it all resulted in something that's really special.
