00:05Yarny and Arabal were born out of a single spark of inspiration
00:10I had this thought
00:12What if we could make a game about love
00:14A game where the bonds we form with other people
00:17Were actual, real, physical bonds
00:19Like strands of yarn
00:22And what if you could play as a character
00:24That was actually made from that stuff
00:27And that idea kept growing
00:28And the more I thought about it
00:29The more it felt like a real thing
00:31An important thing
00:32A game that needed to be made
00:36Yarn became a symbol of love
00:38Of longing and connection
00:40It's the red thread that runs through our lives
00:42And ties everything together
00:44The game would be about reaching out
00:46About mending broken bonds
00:49You would play as a little being made from yarn
00:51Tethered to something important at the start of the game
00:55And you would try to make it to the end without unraveling
00:57So you could use your yarn to reconnect things that weren't meant to be a part
01:02And that little being became Yarny
01:04A helper
01:05A positive force
01:07This fragile but capable character that you guide through the world
01:10A brave little thing with a huge heart
01:13Who watches the world with childlike curiosity and wonder
01:16And accomplishes great things despite being so small
01:20I wanted a character that would inspire empathy
01:22That would make you care
01:23Because that's a big part of what the game is about
01:26Caring and connecting
01:29I created Yarny when I was on a camping trip with my family
01:32I made a doll from materials that I basically scavenged
01:36And just started playing with it
01:38And posing it and taking pictures
01:40Trying to come up with what the actual game would be like
01:42It was just a really beautiful process
01:45I was out in nature in such an inspiring environment
01:48I was basically just playing and having fun
01:51And trying to capture what that felt like
01:53I had my kids there
01:55And with every new thing that I showed them
01:56I could tell right away if it worked
01:59And now, two years later
02:00I can look back at that summer
02:02And it's quite amazing to see where it all led
02:05That initial spark of inspiration has grown into a real game
02:08Hours of love and hard work have been poured into it
02:11And Yarny is already reaching people
02:14Forming new bonds
02:16And that's a pretty great feeling
