00:40With that, let's go back to Jim Hill.
00:43All right, Steve, thank you very much.
00:44Well, it is nearly time for the main event.
00:46The seven years between fights have been a personal and professional rollercoaster for both boxers.
00:51And strangely enough, after all they've been through,
00:54Bruno and Tyson are at the crossroads again,
00:56and the heavyweight title is once again, the prize.
01:071995 was the year that put longtime rivals Mike Tyson and Frank Bruno
01:11on a collision course for the WBC Heavyweight Championship.
01:15Four months after his release from an Indiana State penitentiary,
01:19Tyson surprisingly chose for his first fight,
01:22Peter McNeely.
01:27And here we go.
01:29And McNeely, as advertised, comes right at Mike Tyson.
01:32Down goes McNeely.
01:34Second game of the first round.
01:37Nothing but drawing.
01:41Tyson with a left hooker right up to the count.
01:50He didn't quit at all.
01:52McNeely didn't quit at all.
01:53McNeely didn't quit at all.
01:54He bought his heart out.
01:57Despite the brevity of the bout and criticisms of the matchup,
02:01Tyson was pleased with his performance.
02:04I received confidence in just being in the ring,
02:07being around the midst of a great deal of fans.
02:10I knew after I got out of that first fight,
02:12it was just smooth sailing.
02:14The smooth sailing, however, did not last.
02:17For just days before he was scheduled to meet Buster Mathis Jr.,
02:21the bout was abruptly canceled.
02:26Mike sustained an injury to his right thumb
02:29that would preclude him from fighting this Saturday night.
02:33My objective was to basically fight,
02:35but the pain became too intense,
02:38and it continued hurting during sparring sessions.
02:42Six weeks later, Tyson finally met the light-hitting matchup.
02:48My thumb was never really totally healed
02:50when I fought Matt McNeely.
02:53It's where he has come from McNeely's fight,
02:54didn't fight the title fight.
02:56I wanted to get as many fights in as possible.
02:58Mike wants to go.
03:00He goes to the right-hand lead,
03:01nails him to the left hook,
03:02and bust the ducks underneath the next left hook
03:04that Mike has to offer.
03:05I was throwing a lot left,
03:07but I was catching to the right.
03:08But the punches are just being thrown.
03:10If they hit or they don't hit,
03:11if they don't keep the guy preoccupied.
03:14Late in the third round,
03:16Tyson finally caught up with an elusive matchup.
03:20Now Mike off is up,
03:21and the right-hand finally ducks him.
03:23I knew he didn't hit much.
03:24The first punch stung him,
03:25but I know the second punch in the most top of the head,
03:28and he was unable to get up.
03:30Perhaps the most interested observer that night
03:32was Tyson's next opponent,
03:34Frank Bruno.
03:35Over the last decade,
03:37the hard-hitting Bruno had been a perennial world-class contender.
03:41Yet despite his many successes,
03:43he lost world title bouts to Lennox Lewis,
03:46Tim Witherspoon,
03:47and a five-round brawl to Mike Tyson in 1989.
03:52And many wondered if he had the chin or the stamina
03:55to win the big one.
03:57That is, until he faced WBC heavyweight champion
04:00Oliver McCall in London's Wembley Stadium.
04:03I was the desperate man for the group to the most.
04:0534,
04:06four-time fighter in the red championship,
04:08and people were writing me off left, right, and center.
04:10And in front of 35,000 delirious British fans,
04:14an inspired Bruno aggressively attacked McCall,
04:18using his jab to set up a surprising array of punches.
04:23Well, so far, the round belonging to the challenger,
04:27Frank Bruno,
04:28against the champion Oliver McCall.
04:30Oh, a heavy overhand right by Bruno
04:32that blocks McCall.
04:33Bruno cannot lose his concentration.
04:36He's got to keep that jab up.
04:37He can't afford to let McCall get started.
04:40As long as he's punching first,
04:41he's got this fight.
04:42When you're fighting a champion,
04:44you've got to beat him and beat him very, very well.
04:46Take him, jab him, hold him,
04:49turn him around, do anything to beat him.
04:51This is a question of consistency on the part of Frank Bruno.
04:56He's got to keep that jab.
04:57Bruno continues to impress
04:59in his quest for his first world championship.
05:04As the fight entered the middle rounds,
05:06a desperate McCall launched a furious attack
05:09on his tiring opponent.
05:11Oh, he just got hit.
05:12A right hook by McCall,
05:14who is beginning to come on.
05:16And that landed cleanly.
05:17No question.
05:17There's a difference in the attitude of Oliver McCall.
05:20He is now a different fighter.
05:22He's now a guy
05:23beginning to believe
05:25he can hurt and put away Frank Bruno.
05:27Entering the final round,
05:28McCall could win only by knockouts.
05:31Yet even Bruno's most ardent fans
05:32worried that their exhausted fighter
05:34would be unable to survive
05:36the final three minutes,
05:37once again losing the big one
05:39and squandering his last chance
05:41at a tightrope.
05:44Yes, I was fighting 12 hard,
05:46grueling rounds.
05:48But not tight.
05:49To a point that I had to go to hospital
05:51for exhaustion,
05:52I couldn't stand up,
05:53raise my hands,
05:54or nothing like that.
05:55But I was fighting.
05:59The winner
06:00and new
06:02WBC heavyweight champion of the world,
06:07Frank Bruno.
06:13I was crying like a little boy,
06:15crying,
06:16which I felt embarrassed,
06:18crying,
06:18but I was crying like a little boy
06:19when I was about five here.
06:21But very, very much,
06:22because I've been striving,
06:25working hard for 16 years.
06:26I'm not going to get up that easily.
06:28I've been up and down,
06:30down in the gutter,
06:31treaded on,
06:32spatted on,
06:33disrespected.
06:34I've been through all that.
06:35This time is my time,
06:37it's my future,
06:38and I can't wait to find my cousin.
06:48You are looking into the dressing room
06:50of the defending WBC heavyweight champion
06:53of the world,
06:54Frank Bruno,
06:55who got the championship
06:56from Oliver McCall
06:57last fall.
06:59And in a way,
07:00he really has the weight of a country
07:01on his shoulders.
07:02As you can hear in the background,
07:04many people hollering for Bruno
07:05as some 5,000 fans
07:07from Great Britain
07:08have flown all the way
07:09to Las Vegas
07:10to watch Frank Bruno
07:11defend his WBC heavyweight championship
07:13against Mike Tyson.
07:17Well, Tommy,
07:18one of the things
07:18we want to talk about
07:19right now is styles.
07:20I'd like you to describe
07:21the styles of Bruno and Tyson.
07:23Well, I think Tyson,
07:24for example,
07:24he's not going to change anything.
07:26He only does one thing
07:27and he does it very well.
07:28You know,
07:29if something isn't broke,
07:30you know,
07:30why fix it?
07:30Bruno,
07:31on the other hand,
07:33he's learned to work well
07:34off his jab
07:34and I think that he's put on
07:35some extra weight
07:36and he feels that's going to be
07:37a factor in this fight.
07:38Okay,
07:38let's try and get into the heads
07:39of these fighters right now
07:40and talk strategy.
07:41What does Bruno have to do
07:42in order to hold on
07:44to the championship?
07:44He has to use his jab
07:46from the outside,
07:46make Tyson fight
07:47from the outside
07:48and he doesn't go,
07:49you know,
07:50doesn't accept power punts
07:51as well.
07:51So when he gets hit,
07:52he can't freeze.
07:53He's got to continue to move
07:54and stay off the ropes
07:55because Tyson's a great finisher.
07:56Now,
07:56what does Tyson have to do
07:57in order to regain
07:58that championship?
07:59Tyson has to slip left
08:00on the outside,
08:01weave on the inside.
08:02He's most devastating
08:02when he's on the inside
08:03and I think that's
08:04what we'll see tonight.
08:05And your prediction?
08:06I think after four,
08:07Tyson.
08:08Before that,
08:08I think Bruno has a shot.
08:09I know you're ready for it
08:10and here we go.
08:11It is really going to be
08:12something else.
08:12That is for sure.
08:13Now,
08:14the outcome of this
08:14particular foul
08:15will most likely end
08:16in a knockout
08:17in the opinion of many experts
08:18and here is why.
08:20Among current
08:20and former heavyweight champions,
08:22Bruno and Tyson
08:23rank number three
08:24and four respectively
08:25in career knockout percentage.
08:27This statistic
08:28almost guarantees
08:29there will be
08:30explosives in the ring.
08:31Well,
08:32my friends,
08:32it's time for the
08:33detonations to begin.
08:34The WBC
08:35Heavyweight Championship
08:37is next.
08:38Back to ringside.
08:39Once again,
08:39Steve Albert.
08:40Steve.
08:41Thank you,
08:41Jim.
08:42It's hard to tell
08:43if we're in America
08:44or England
08:44as we get ready
08:45for Frank Bruno
08:46versus Mike Tyson
08:47for the WBC
08:48Heavyweight Championship.
08:49Bruno and Tyson
08:50meeting for the second time
08:51in just over seven years
08:52with the former world champion
08:54looking to make it
08:54two for two.
08:55Only this time
08:56a completely different
08:57set of circumstances.
08:58In the topsy-turvy,
08:59unpredictable world
09:00of boxing,
09:00it's now Tyson,
09:01the challenger,
09:02looking to recapture
09:03the title from the man
09:04he defeated in February
09:05of 89.
09:06Frank Bruno,
09:07now the champion.
09:08Who would have thought
09:09they'd be meeting again
09:09with Bruno defending
09:11the title?
09:13Both fighters,
09:14as you'd expect,
09:15talking big games,
09:16both extremely confident.
09:17The bravado flying,
09:19but all of the hype aside,
09:20what should we expect
09:21once the bell sounds?
09:22Will Bruno take it
09:23to Tyson,
09:24look to bully him,
09:25tie him up,
09:26hold and hit
09:26as McNeely and Mathis
09:28tried to do?
09:29Or will Bruno,
09:30certainly more skilled
09:31than Tyson's last two opponents,
09:32try to keep his distance,
09:34working the jab
09:34to set up
09:35to set up
09:35his formidable right.
09:36Power,
09:37strength,
09:37and determination
09:37have never been
09:38Bruno's drawbacks.
09:39Stamina,
09:40stiffness,
09:40and a weak chin are.
09:42Let's also remember
09:43he barely beat
09:43an uninspired
09:44Oliver McCall.
09:45Tyson looks to be
09:46in great shape,
09:47may still be rusty,
09:48overanxious,
09:48and wild with his punches,
09:50but all it takes
09:51is one bomb,
09:51which is usually
09:52what separates
09:53Mike Tyson
09:53from the rest
09:54of the division.
09:55As we bring back
09:56the fight,
09:56Dr. Ferdy,
09:57how would you evaluate
09:58the fighters'
09:58recent performances?
10:00Well, Tyson,
10:00you can throw both of them out,
10:01it meant nothing.
10:02On the other hand,
10:03Bruno has very
10:04significant changes.
10:05He's learned to jab,
10:06he's learned to pace himself,
10:07he's learned to smother
10:09a smaller man
10:09as he comes in,
10:10put his weight on him,
10:11and make him tired.
10:12All of those things
10:13are flicked pluses
10:14which give him confidence.
10:16The last fight
10:16showed me a lot
10:17of Frank Bruno.
10:19Unfortunately,
10:19nothing you can do
10:20will strengthen your chin.
10:22That's his drawback.
10:23And how about a prediction?
10:24I think Tyson
10:25would be too much
10:26for him
10:27from five to eight rounds
10:29should be over with.
10:31It's just too much
10:33ferocity
10:33and not enough
10:34strength of jaw
10:35of Bruno.
10:36I don't know
10:36if these fans behind us
10:37would agree.
10:38Bruno has never won
10:39a big fight like this one
10:40while it's Tyson's
10:41first championship fight
10:42in over six years.
10:43Bobby,
10:43behind all of the bluster,
10:44are they masking any doubts?
10:46I know Mike Tyson's
10:47entire career,
10:48I know Mike personally
10:48for over ten years now,
10:49Steve,
10:50there's no doubt
10:50in his system.
10:51He's just not made that way,
10:52it's not part of his character
10:53or his belief patterns.
10:54He doesn't believe
10:55any heavyweight in the world
10:56can beat him,
10:56he's always believed that
10:57and I believe he always will.
10:58And there's no masking
10:59of any doubt
10:59on his behalf.
11:00Now as far as
11:01Frank Bruno's concerned,
11:02he's either got a great
11:03career as an actor
11:04or he has no doubt
11:05himself because
11:05I've seen his interviews,
11:06he's very convincing.
11:07And sometimes
11:08becoming world champion,
11:10Steve,
11:10makes you think better
11:11and fight better.
11:12So I think we have
11:12two fighters here
11:13who believe in themselves
11:14and there's no doubt.
11:15And just for the record,
11:16a prediction?
11:17My prediction
11:18basically has been
11:19that Mike Tyson
11:20will knock out
11:20Frank Bruno
11:21somewhere between
11:21five and ten
11:22but if Frank gets
11:23careless early
11:23because of those
11:24absolutes we talked
11:25about earlier,
11:26the bad chin
11:26and the big power
11:27could be earlier than that.
11:28But I think five to ten,
11:29it's Mike Tyson champ
11:30once again.
11:31All right, Bobby,
11:32part of the gamesmanship
11:33of boxing
11:33is the traditional ring walk
11:34and that is certainly
11:35magnified in a big
11:36heavyweight championship fight.
11:38The ring walks
11:38of Bruno and Tyson
11:39are about as different
11:40as their personalities
11:41in the ring.
11:42Let's take a look.
11:43Tyson always makes
11:44his entrances
11:44in steely-eyed,
11:45no-nonsense fashion.
11:46Even his attire
11:47or lack of
11:48is intimidating.
11:49In stark contrast,
11:50Bruno takes the
11:51theatrical approach.
11:52Laser beams,
11:53loud music,
11:54his walks are often
11:55lengthy,
11:55full of fanfare.
11:56While Tyson couldn't
11:57care less
11:58what people think,
11:59Bruno wants us to say,
12:00now that's an entrance.
12:02Tonight,
12:02the theatrics of Bruno
12:03will be missing,
12:04but he'll still have
12:05some 5,000 fans
12:07from Great Britain
12:08cheering him on.
12:09And there they are
12:10with the Union Jack flag.
12:13The fans of Great Britain
12:14who have journeyed
12:15all the way overseas
12:16to Las Vegas
12:18to support their man,
12:21the People's Champion
12:22of England,
12:23Frank Bruno.
12:24Let's go over
12:24to Jim Gray.
12:27All right,
12:28thank you, Steve.
12:29Well, it is very quiet
12:29in the hallway
12:30as both camps
12:31prepare to walk out
12:32to the ring.
12:33Frank Bruno's people
12:33tell us he's been
12:34very still,
12:35very quiet.
12:36He's been listening to
12:37and watching the fights
12:37and listening to some music.
12:39Seems to be a lot more
12:40tension down on that end.
12:41Over here behind us,
12:42Team Tyson,
12:42as they get to come out.
12:44Mike Tyson has been pacing.
12:45That's normal for him.
12:46Been walking around
12:47the locker room,
12:47not saying much to anybody,
12:48but the feeling in here
12:50is that Mike Tyson
12:51is more than ready,
12:52and he's been very confident
12:53so far since his arrival.
12:55Let's go back out
12:55to Steve Albert.
12:58All right,
12:59thank you very much,
13:00Jim.
13:05You will see
13:06a rare sight
13:09as the challenger,
13:11number one rated
13:11Mike Tyson,
13:13will walk into the ring
13:14first for the first time
13:16since November 22nd,
13:181986,
13:19when he fought
13:19Trevor Burbick
13:20for this title.
13:22Tonight,
13:22he takes the first step
13:23towards unification
13:24again.
13:25Can I please believe
13:26that I'll never be
13:27shamed again?
13:28Again,
13:29I'll be the next
13:30heavyweight champion.
13:31Call me crazy,
13:32but no one can fade me.
13:33I'm the product
13:34of the project.
13:35Lost and crazy.
13:36Gun your hands up,
13:37Mr. Bruno.
13:38Live,
13:39big Mike Tyson
13:39about to brutalize
13:40that ass tonight.
13:41No hesitation,
13:42front of the whole nation.
13:43I beat that ass
13:44so bad,
13:44I probably violate
13:45my bases.
13:46You're demonstrating
13:47that I'll strategize
13:48with my bases.
13:49It's a tequila,
13:58and I'm looking
14:00to a second
14:00than the hell
14:01and the pain
14:04I'm looking
14:05out at church.
14:06In fact,
14:10I see
14:11as
14:12I'm looking
14:18to rest
14:19.
14:28Mike Tyson making the long walk to the ring, but the American fans and the fans of Tyson
14:35in general being drowned out.
14:38As Mike Tyson will make his way into the arena here, he will hear the reaction from the British

16:52heading into the ring for the first time as champion.
16:55And without as much fanfare as he is accustomed to in England.
17:32The charismatic, endearing, Frank Bruno,
17:39used to being the underdog.
17:42He's the underdog again, even though he's the champion.
17:46And the British fans going for surf.
18:17Good luck.

26:09with an outstanding record of 43 wins,

26:51And his opponent across the ring on my left,
26:55defending world champion,
26:58fighting out of the blue corner,
27:00entering the ring,

27:06Fighting out of and representing London, England,
27:10he weighed in at 247 pounds.
27:15His record includes 40 wins, 4 losses,
27:18with 38 big wins, coming by way of knockout.
27:22Tonight, he is making the first defense of his title.
27:26Please welcome Britain's favorite son,
27:28and he is the current and defending
27:31WBC heavyweight champion of the world,
27:34there is only one Frank Bruno!
27:45Once again, Mills Lane, our referee in charge,
27:49now to give instructions.
27:56All right, all right, right here, listen, listen,
27:59listen, listen, listen, listen here,
28:02Mike, if he goes right here,
28:04I'm not going to call it low, all right?
28:06Now, you've already had your instruction,
28:08this is with the championship of the world.
28:10I expect a tough, clean fight.
28:13Protect yourself at all times.
28:15Any question, Mr. Tyson?
28:18Mr. Bruno, let's get it on!
28:25Well, Bruno may not be getting the money
28:27he thinks he should be getting,
28:28nor the respect,
28:29but he is getting the corner that he wants.
28:32They changed corners so he could be near his fans.
28:37And the first thing you notice,
28:39the size difference between Tyson and Bruno.
28:44Frank Brutto with the bodybuilder's physique,
28:4727 pounds heavier, almost four inches taller,
28:50huge reach advantage,
28:51and here we go, round one!
28:53I'll tell you what,
28:53if I was built like Frank Bruno,
28:54I wouldn't be afraid of anybody or anything,
28:56but Mike Tyson is a phenom,
28:58abnormal strength, unnatural.
29:00He is a walking powerhouse.
29:02Tyson's trainer, Jay Bright,
29:03said he's concerned about keeping Tyson
29:04under control of the belt.
29:06He'll be very anxious.
29:09Tyson down,
29:10ducked every one of those punches.
29:12They all went over his head.
29:13A lot of problems as to whether
29:15Tyson's going to go on Bobby and weaving.
29:17He's certainly coming straight in.
29:20Tyson said they don't want him
29:22standing straight in front of Bruno, Bobby.
29:24Bruno, a big puncher,
29:25also has a good jab.
29:27What you're going to see is
29:28Frank Bruno grab Mike
29:29when he comes in like that.
29:30Every time.
29:31Every time he comes in,
29:32he's going to hold him.
29:33He's not going to let Mike do
29:34what Mike wants to do on the inside.
29:36A straight right hand there
29:37by Mike Tyson.
29:38Nice right hand by Tyson
29:40and some explanation
29:42from Mills Lane
29:44to keep their heads off.
29:46Bruno with the questionable chin.
29:48Get off that neck.
29:49Come on.
29:49Get off that neck.
29:50He said he'll try to use the jab
29:51to keep Tyson away.
29:53He does not like to fight
29:54on the inside generally.
29:56But Bruno also feels
29:58he's learned to hold on,
29:59which he did with McCall.
30:01He is very strong
30:02and he'll also try to tie Tyson up.
30:04Something is going to give
30:04Frank Bruno a problem.
30:05When he jabs,
30:06his mind is thinking backwards a little.
30:08He's going to throw that right hand.
30:09He's got to jab into Mike
30:11and throw the right hand
30:12into Mike.
30:12See how he leans back?
30:13He can't do that.
30:14He can't do that
30:15if he's going to be effective.
30:16He's fighting scared.
30:17When you jab
30:18and already are going back
30:20before the jab even gets there,
30:21you're too apprehensive.
30:24On Mike's side,
30:25he's not bobbing and weaving
30:26like he has
30:27and he's coming in
30:28pretty straight up
30:29and flying through the air,
30:31which if you get hit midway there,
30:32that could be big.
30:33Bruno continues to hold and hit.
30:35Grab it.
30:36Come on.
30:36Quit grabbing,
30:37says Bill's lane.
30:38Tyson's people wanted
30:39a bob and roll.
30:40He less of a target
30:41attack from the angle
30:42and he is on the attack.
30:44That right hand buckled
30:45the legs of Frank Bruno.
30:47That's the first one
30:48he caught the steam.
30:52Well, if they were worried
30:53about Tyson's ferocity,
30:54they can stop worrying.
30:55He is fierce tonight.
30:58The Tyson's camp feeling
30:59the key is hand and foot speed.
31:01The Tyson is just too fast
31:02quick on his feet
31:03and that Bruno
31:04doesn't have the foot speed
31:05to compete.
31:07Bruno trying a nice uppercut,
31:09which is a nice idea,
31:10but it got smothered.
31:11It didn't get there anywhere.
31:18Bruno throwing nice right hand
31:20around the side of Tyson's ear
31:22and then a left hook to the body.
31:23Didn't seem to do anything,
31:24but it was a nice effort.
31:25And any time...
31:26Oh, here comes Tyson.
31:27Tyson with a combination
31:28with 20 seconds left
31:30in round one.
31:31He got Bruno's attention.
31:32Wobble Bruno with that punch.
31:34And this is what I mean.
31:34If he makes a mistake early,
31:36you can't fix a chin
31:37that was never great
31:38to begin with.
31:38A left hook by Tyson,
31:40but Bruno comes forward.
31:41Seven seconds to go
31:43in the round.
31:43Bruno in bad trouble there.
31:45All he needed
31:46was one more good shot.
31:47He'd have been gone.
32:09Yeah, you got the water.
32:11That's what I mean.
32:12Give us a fuck up.
32:13Give us a ciao.
32:15Give us a ciao.
32:26Leave us alone,
32:27will you be talking?
32:29That's why I'm here.
32:30Okay, Frank.
32:31Be first up.
32:32Get ahead of you, man.
32:35Be first.
32:37Go out, Miller.
32:38Give me one.
32:39Give me one.
32:39Give me one.
32:40You see where Tyson wobbles
32:42him with a big right hand?
32:44Right on the button.
32:45Now, you wonder if that was
32:46the cut or one of those
32:47charges in?
32:48Because there was a lot
32:48of holding, possible hits,
32:50banging, clanging.
32:51The cut's nasty.
32:52Well, it's a nasty cut.
32:54And rest assured,
32:56Tyson's not going to
32:57let that alone.
32:58A deep cash
33:00over the left eye
33:01of Frank Bruno.
33:02A nasty cut
33:04as Tyson looks to
33:05rub the glove in there.
33:06And both of them
33:08are saying,
33:09Tyson was saying,
33:10he's grabbing me.
33:11He's doing all these things
33:12to tell him to stop.
33:13Yep.
33:13Mills Lane trying to
33:14take control.
33:16And Tyson just loading up
33:17looking to throw the ball.
33:19How do you go, Frank?
33:19Frank looking to hold on
33:21in every instance.
33:22Anytime he gets close to...
33:24Anytime he gets close to Tyson,
33:26he holds on.
33:27He's looking to hold on,
33:28tire him out.
33:29He's not going to do it like that
33:31because he can't
33:32put any efforts toward punching
33:34if he's just worried
33:34about holding.
33:35He looks like a guy
33:36just waiting for an avalanche
33:38to fall on him.
33:40And fall on him,
33:41it will because
33:42Tyson is fierce tonight.
33:45Tyson now showing
33:46some head movement.
33:49Frank's got to take his shot.
33:51Steve put himself
33:51in a position to win.
33:52Take his shot.
33:53If he gets knocked out
33:54and he puts himself
33:55in a position to win,
33:55there's nothing
33:56dishonorable about it.
33:57But to just hold
33:58and do that for 12 rounds,
34:00there's no wandering.
34:01Well, he's not going to be here
34:02for 12 rounds,
34:02I guarantee you.
34:04Oh, a left hook
34:05by Mike Tyson,
34:06flush on the face
34:07of Frank Bruno.
34:08Another left
34:09and a combination
34:10by Tyson
34:10and Bruno holds on.
34:12Steve, Bruno took
34:13that left hand better
34:14than he took the first one.
34:15He seemed to adjust
34:16a little bit.
34:17He caught two shots there
34:18and did not react
34:19as badly as he did
34:20in the first round.
34:21Maybe the nerves
34:21and the jitters,
34:22he may be settling in.
34:23The cut over Bruno's eye
34:25holding up.
34:26No problem there.
34:27The big problem
34:28is standing in front of him.
34:31Halfway through
34:32the second.
34:34He has no offensive desire
34:37whatsoever, Bruno.
34:38And if he doesn't,
34:39he can't hold off Tyson.
34:41Again,
34:42a little tiny referee
34:44and two huge guys.
34:47Tyson looking to go back
34:48to work,
34:49immediately tied up,
34:50wrapped up by Bruno.
34:51But Mills Lee is a heavyweight
34:52referee in stashing.
34:53Time, time, time.
34:56He's taking a point
34:57away from Bruno
34:58for the continuous
35:00holding.
35:02As if it makes
35:03any difference.
35:04That is what you call
35:05academia.
35:06Less than a minute
35:07remaining in round two.
35:09And Bruno continues
35:11to employ
35:12the holding tactics.
35:15Bruno switches south foot here.
35:17Just for a moment,
35:18switching to lefty.
35:19It won't help.
35:21He'll get hammered
35:22even harder.
35:23Even Tyson's jabs
35:25seem to lift Bruno
35:26off his feet.
35:27And that's saying
35:28something for 247 pounder.
35:30It was a nice
35:31right uppercut
35:32by Bruno.
35:33Crabbe reacting a little
35:33too much
35:34because obviously
35:35DeBriks want to see
35:36their boy do something.
35:36He has nothing in it.
35:37He has nothing
35:38on that uppercut.
35:40He's not fighting
35:41offensively.
35:43Right uppercut
35:44there by Bruno
35:45but doing no damage.
35:47That eye's getting
35:48very, very ugly
35:49right now.
35:49It's dripping freely.
35:50Yeah, all of a sudden
35:51it started to bleed
35:54down the side
35:55of his face.
35:56A home run.
35:57A home run
35:58thrown by Tyson.
36:00They just missed.
36:03Tyson is throwing
36:04evil intention punches.
36:05as he wants to
36:06finish this off.
36:08There's the bell.
36:17You've got the
36:18cup of fucking light
36:19if you're listening.
36:20You're getting
36:21fucking slower and slower.
36:22Now listen to me,
36:23Frank.
36:23This is all you
36:24fucking wanted.
36:25Throw the uppercut
36:26with some fucking venom
36:27and when you hit him
36:28it's in harm.
36:29Don't join your hands
36:30and the eye's okay.
36:32There's nothing wrong
36:32with the eye.
36:33You're killing
36:33the fake eye of my face.
36:34Come on.
36:39You know you can win
36:42the fight.
36:42We'll fucking win it,
36:43right?
36:44Okay, don't wait.
36:45Let's take a look
36:46at where he got hurt
36:47in the first round.
36:48That right hand,
36:49that could have been
36:49a cut right there.
36:50See the heads go together?
36:51That could have been
36:52the cut right there.
36:53But Bruno was in bad
36:54shape at that time.
36:55He buckled.
36:58In the last round,
36:59you see Mike
37:00rocking counter
37:01with a nice right hand
37:02and here comes the hook.
37:03Didn't land clean,
37:04but there's more
37:05behind that.
37:06Mike threw a nice
37:07counter right hand.
37:08And George Francis
37:09very colorfully
37:10echoing your words,
37:11Bobby.
37:12Throw the uppercut.
37:13But he said throw
37:14within him.
37:14He might put himself
37:15in position to win.
37:16Throw it like
37:16immediately.
37:17Let's get on with it.
37:19You need to use
37:19those exact words.
37:21Now let me just
37:21go out and fight.
37:22Hold it.
37:22Fight it out, okay?
37:23Now come on.
37:24Let's go.
37:25And more lecturing
37:26from Mills Lane
37:27saying fight it out.
37:28Stop holding.
37:29You know,
37:29people kept wondering
37:30which Mike Tyson
37:31is going to be here.
37:32Which Mike Tyson
37:32isn't?
37:33Free, prison,
37:34better, worse,
37:35in between.
37:36This is the similar
37:37Mike Tyson,
37:37maybe just a little
37:38more patient,
37:39a pinch heavier,
37:40but I think he's
37:40a little more patient
37:41and a little more
37:42disciplined.
37:43He's got a difficult
37:44task in front of him
37:45and a lot of people
37:46are going to say
37:46this fight doesn't
37:47prove anything anyway.
37:48And this is what
37:48Bruno expected.
37:49He said he's not
37:50looking for the Tyson
37:51or what the Killian
37:52matters.
37:52Here's a combination
37:53uppercut by Tyson.
37:54Tyson laid it on,
37:56quarry it on,
37:57down goes Bruno.
37:58into the right.
38:02And it is all over.
38:05It is all over here
38:06in round three.
38:07Mike Tyson
38:08is champion again.
38:10And that is it.
38:12Mike Tyson is back.
38:13The Tyson era
38:14has begun.
38:18I told you Frank
38:19Bruno had no chance
38:20because those absolute
38:21Mike hits with both hands.
38:23He's got a good chin.
38:25You're not getting
38:25him out of that one shot.
38:26Bruno never throws
38:27more than one heart
38:28punch at a time.
38:29And Bruno's chin
38:30is very suspect
38:31on top of him
38:32always tiring.
38:33Well, there can
38:33certainly be no doubt
38:34that he's back.
38:35He's back with all
38:36the old ferocity,
38:37all the old technique.
38:38He took care of business.
38:40There's no doubt
38:41that Mike Tyson
38:42is back as a force
38:44of nature
38:44in the heavyweights.
38:45And Mike Tyson
38:46over to console
38:48Frank Bruno.
38:51I'd love to find out
38:52eventually what he's
38:53saying to him.
38:55Mike Tyson,
38:56his third comeback fight,
38:57recaptures the WBC
38:59Heavyweight Championship,
39:00dethroning Frank Bruno,
39:02who held the title
39:03for about six and a half months.
39:12tonight in his first title fight
39:14since losing the
39:15Undisputed World Heavyweight
39:17title to James Buster
39:18Douglas,
39:18February of 1990.
39:20Mike Tyson again,
39:21heavyweight check.
39:22Now let's take a look
39:23at how Tyson
39:23took care of business.
39:24Ducked under.
39:25A shot under the arm
39:26in the legs
39:27and from here on out
39:28a rain of punches
39:30which buckled
39:33Frank Bruno
39:34until he was helpless.
39:36If you let Mike Tyson
39:37get that kind of leverage
39:38with that right uppercut,
39:39you will not make it
39:40through the round
39:41never mind the fight.
39:42He is a finisher
39:43par excellence
39:44and he finished tonight
39:46and Frank Bruno
39:47had no chance.
39:48A ferocious display
39:51by Mike Tyson.
39:52Take another look at it.
39:53Mike lands a body shot there
39:54and then the hook
39:55and then what he does best,
39:56he comes up,
39:57another hook in right hand.
39:58You'll see him rip the uppercut.
39:59There's one.
40:00He rips another one
40:01that doesn't do much.
40:02He misses.
40:03That one hurt.
40:04You would see the knees buckle
40:05if he had a bigger angle.
40:06Bruno is out
40:07and now it's just a matter
40:08of pummeling
40:09and finishing the job.
40:10Le Coup de Gras done.
40:14Well, it's been over six years
40:15since Tyson could be called
40:17a world champion
40:18as we take further look
40:22at the end of the ring.
40:23Buster Mathis Jr.
40:24ended up staying
40:25in the ring longer
40:25with Mike Tyson.
40:29And there's the right uppercut
40:30and the onslaught
40:32will continue
40:33before Bruno buckles.
40:35Part of the problem
40:35with Frank Bruno's
40:36strategy there was
40:37when he came in,
40:38he came in with
40:39one punch possible,
40:41not totally,
40:42you know,
40:43committed to that punch
40:43to hurt Tyson
40:44to land it,
40:45but to hold,
40:46to put his arms
40:46in a position
40:47to grab Mike
40:47and tie him up
40:48a la Bonecrusher Smith
40:49and I will maintain
40:51and I mean no offense
40:51to any fighter.
40:52It is more honorable
40:53to get knocked out
40:54in one, two, or three rounds
40:55fighting hard
40:56and putting yourself
40:56in a position to win
40:57than to hold on,
40:59grapple,
40:59and wrestle,
41:00and dance
41:00for 10 or 12 rounds
41:01and say,
41:01oh, geez,
41:02I went the distance.
41:03Let's go over
41:04to Jimmy Lennon Jr.
41:05for the official time.
41:07Ladies and gentlemen,
41:09with the time
41:10of 50 seconds
41:11in round number three,
41:13our referee in charge,
41:15Mills Lane,
41:16calls a halt
41:16to the contest.
41:18He's the winner
41:18by way of technical knockout
41:20and he is back,
41:22ladies and gentlemen,
41:24the new WBC heavyweight champion
41:27of the World Irons,
41:32Mike Tyson.
41:36Mike Tyson back on the throne
41:39and he did it tonight
41:40with a combination
41:41of right uppercuts
41:42and left hooks.
41:44Explosive shots.
41:45Those are signature punches, Steve.
41:46He throws a beautiful right uppercut
41:48and a tremendous left hook.
41:50We're ready for the fight,
41:51Dr. Ferdy Pacheco
41:52with Mike Tyson.
41:56That was a heck of a finish,
41:57but are you back?
41:59Well, I still always have room
42:01for more improvement
42:02and I'm my own worth critic.
42:04Praise be to Allah.
42:06This title is for
42:07my dear mentor,
42:10Customato,
42:11my children,
42:11Mikey, Gina,
42:13Raina.
42:14Praise be to Allah.
42:16You said you could keep on going.
42:18When I came up,
42:18you said I could have done some more.
42:20Were you having that much fun?
42:21Let's take a look
42:22at the monitor.
42:24This is a finish, Mike.
42:26It's super slow.
42:27You talk.
42:28As you see,
42:28I'm just throwing punches
42:29because he's holding a lot,
42:30so I'm just throwing
42:31crossing to the wind.
42:32My objective is to throw
42:33at all times,
42:34just to throw punches,
42:34throw punches,
42:35bring him down
42:36with a handy Armstrong effect,
42:37so to speak.
42:38Boom, that hurt him.
42:38He's out right now.
42:40I'm trying to catch him again.
42:41Don't stop.
42:42I missed him.
42:42Don't stop.
42:43And he don't know.
42:44Keep coming.
42:45Boom, there you go.
42:46And there's another one.
42:47The best ever.
42:49The best ever.
42:52The best ever.
42:55Well,
42:56champ,
42:57that's what they call
42:58finishing in boxing.
42:59You are one of the great
43:00finishers in boxing.
43:02Well, I'm doing well.
43:03I'm constantly improving.
43:05I like to say one thing
43:06to all my people in IYC,
43:09everyone,
43:10the Islamic service,
43:12vice lords,
43:14folks,
43:15regiments,
43:16all the people
43:16that was good to me,
43:17Mr. Slavin,
43:18Mr. Flimster,
43:19God praise be to everybody.
43:20All right.
43:21I'll whack off.
43:22Champ,
43:22one last question.
43:23Bruce Seldon,
43:24is he next?
43:25Whoever's next.
43:25Bruis,
43:26you want Bruce
43:27or anybody?
43:27I'll fight anybody
43:28Don King put in front of me.
43:30And I still have more to do
43:32and have more improvement to do.
43:34I wouldn't do my best.
43:35Well, Champ,
43:36from one guy to the other,
43:37welcome back.
43:37Thank you, sir.
43:38All right.
43:39Let's go with Gray.
43:40Let's go to Jim Gray.
43:41All right.
43:41Thank you very much, Ferdy.
43:42Frank,
43:43first of all,
43:44are you all right?
43:44Yeah, I'm fine, Jim.
43:45Fine.
43:45A little bit brokenhearted,
43:46but I'm fine.
43:48A lot of my English fans
43:49came over here to support me,
43:50but that's how it goes.
43:51What was your game plan?
43:52It seemed as though
43:53you were content to hold on
43:55and not really have
43:56any offensive plan.
43:57I was trying to
43:57sort of like slide him down
43:58and use my weight
43:59against him,
44:00but he was a fast guy.
44:01Very fast guy.
44:02I couldn't take nothing
44:02away from him.
44:03Was he better now
44:04than when you fought him
44:05seven years ago?
44:06I wouldn't go so far
44:07to say it's about the same.
44:09The cut over your eye,
44:09did it affect your performance?
44:11A little bit.
44:11It worried me, yeah,
44:12first round.
44:13What are your plans now, Frank?
44:15I'm not too sure.
44:15I've got to have 24 hours
44:16or 48 hours
44:18to sit down with my family,
44:19my wife,
44:19my beautiful kids
44:20and suss it out.
44:21You've been described
44:22as a guy who's like a toothache.
44:24You just keep coming back
44:24and coming back.
44:26Will you come back from this
44:27or are you satisfied now
44:28that you won your championship
44:29after so many tries?
44:31I've got to wait and see.
44:31I couldn't want to make
44:32no commitments, you know?
44:33I would go home
44:34and sit down with my family
44:35and take it from there.
44:36I'm just disappointed
44:37that the English fans
44:37that came over here
44:38and the American fans
44:39would want me to do a good job
44:40but I tried my best.
44:41Frank, your assessment
44:42of Mike Tyson,
44:43how did you feel he did tonight?
44:44He'd done pretty well.
44:45He beat me
44:46so he must have done good, you know?
44:48Better than you thought?
44:50A little bit more
44:51better than I thought.
44:52It's a rough game out there.
44:54Frank, congratulations.
44:54You've been a good champion.
44:56I'm proud to people.
44:58Let's go back to Steve Albert.
45:00Thanks, Jim.
45:00Always charming
45:01and accommodating
45:04Frank Bruno,
45:04now the former
45:05WBC Heavyweight Champion.
45:07So the question now,
45:09has Tyson finally silenced
45:11his critics?
45:14There's no question
45:16that he showed
45:17desire here tonight.
45:19Mike Tyson
45:20going back towards
45:22the dressing room
45:24wearing the belt.
45:27and hearing it from the fans
45:29as he blows kisses
45:30to his many admirers.
45:34Mike Tyson,
45:35a champion once again,
45:37makes it two for two
45:38over Frank Bruno
45:39and ups his record
45:40to 44-1
45:41while Bruno falls
45:42to 40-5.
45:45So it's hugs all around
45:47for the champion,
45:50Mike Tyson.
45:51Well, let's take a look
45:52at the unofficial results
45:54of our online scoring.
45:56Of course,
45:57this is all unofficial.
45:58Your chance to score
45:59the Bruno Tyson fight
46:00live on the Internet.
46:02And how do you like this?
46:04Big surprise.
46:07Bobby Chez.
46:08I don't know.
46:09You know what?
46:10No one shocks me anymore.
46:11That shocked me.
46:12I don't know.
46:13What can I say, Steve?
46:14I'm flabbergasted.
46:15I'm never for a loss
46:16of words
46:17and now I'm at a loss of words.
46:18I don't understand
46:18that whatsoever.
46:19But no question
46:20who was in control
46:21of this fight
46:22all the way
46:23from the opening bell.
46:24Mike Tyson is...
46:25Frank Bruno just tried
46:26to hold on to him.
46:28That had to be a mistake
46:29and now it's been corrected.
46:30No question about it.
46:31Mike Tyson taking
46:32the two rounds.
46:34They restored my faith
46:35in people once again, Steve.
46:36That had us going nuts here.
46:37That was obviously
46:38a graphic mistake.
46:40Well, Bobby,
46:41your analysis
46:42with the help
46:43of the Telestrator.
46:44All right,
46:45we're going to show you
46:45here on the Telestrator.
46:46We're going to show you
46:47where Mike Tyson is
46:47when he works his way
46:48to the inside
46:48and why he's so effective
46:50in his key punches, okay?
46:51Right here,
46:51you'll see the right hand
46:52that he's leaning
46:53to the body on Bruno.
46:56But what he does,
46:57Bruno tries to put
46:58both his arms around Mike,
46:59grab him and bring him in.
47:00What Mike does
47:00is rip uppercuts up in here.
47:02These are his trademark punches
47:03and left hooks around.
47:05Come around the hands
47:06and come up through the hands
47:07and you'll watch it
47:08as we go roll the tape.
47:10He comes up underneath.
47:11There's the hook
47:12and he's going to come up
47:13with the uppercut.
47:14He's going to work his way in.
47:15He steps around
47:16with another hook.
47:17Just throwing those hooks
47:19and the uppercuts.
47:19That uppercut,
47:20you can see the feet
47:20come out from under.
47:22that uppercut is such a vicious punch
47:23I can't begin to tell you
47:24and he gets such a leverage
47:26lifting his opponents
47:26off the floor.
47:27The uppercut hurt him
47:28more than anything else
47:29and was the key
47:30to the stoppage.
47:33Stoppage in the third round
47:34for Mike Tyson
47:36who is a champion again
47:38and Ferdy Pacheco,
47:39the fight doctor,
47:40is standing by
47:40once again in the ring.
47:44We got two dates there.
47:45Don,
47:46big night for you.
47:47You got blood on your jacket
47:48and it is the return of Tyson.
47:49Hey listen,
47:50it doesn't matter
47:50about the blood on my jacket.
47:52All I want to do
47:53is to thank all the people
47:54that made it possible.
47:55Frank Biondi,
47:55Tony Cox,

47:58Roy Langboard.
47:59I want to thank

48:08We had the table prepared for him
48:10and now we promised
48:11to the public
48:11one undisputed champion
48:13to take the confusion
48:14out of the business.
48:15We're appealing
48:16to all of the organizations.
48:18Let champion,
48:19let Tyson unify the title.
48:20Fight all mandatories.
48:22We guarantee you
48:23all mandatories.
48:24We fight everybody
48:25that's a contender
48:26or a pretender.
48:27It doesn't matter
48:27but this is a mission
48:29that I feel
48:30this is the crowning
48:31achievement of my career
48:32to be able to deliver
48:33to Mike Tyson
48:34the heavyweight championship again
48:35after four years
48:36of being absent.
48:37And all the people
48:38that have to make this possible
48:39we certainly are
48:40opportunity to it
48:41and I must thank
48:42something to Redstone
48:43for being there for us
48:44and letting us have
48:45Showtime as a vehicle
48:46a forum to be able
48:47to use.

49:11we don't know
49:12we're going to
49:13we're going to make a decision
49:14we know we got a judge
49:15that has given us
49:16some type of order
49:17that we're not supposed
49:19to say
49:19who the winner
49:21or the loser
49:21of this fight
49:21is going to be
49:22we want to respect
49:23that judge
49:23although we don't reveal
49:24that he has no jurisdiction
49:26but yet
49:26the court

49:45it's a Tyson era
49:46I know you're a judge
49:47of boxing
49:48realistically
49:48how do you assess
49:49realistically
49:50Tyson's performance tonight
49:53Tyson was magnificent
49:54Tyson as I've
49:56I've proclaimed
49:57predicted
49:58prognosticated
49:59this is something
50:00that he's better
50:01than he ever was
50:02it is no such thing
50:03is he the old Tyson
50:04is he rusty
50:04can he do what he did before
50:05he's better
50:07than he's ever been before
50:08because he's more focused
50:09more disciplined
50:09more devastating
50:10and you see him
50:11waiting for his moves
50:12and you see him
50:12in the end of fighting
50:13when the man is holding
50:14to go down
50:15up
50:15back over
50:16under
50:16over
50:16up again
50:17I mean it's tremendous
50:18for you to fight doctor
50:19and if you like Dr. Zhivago
50:21you can prescribe
50:22the case and diagnosis
50:23let me say
50:23from Dr. Zhivago
50:24to Dr. Jim Hill
50:25who's waiting
50:26to talk to us
50:27and thank you Don
50:27thank you
50:29okay Ferdy
50:30thank you very much
50:31well Tommy
50:31wow I guess
50:33that's all we can say
50:33that's really amazing
50:35at the beginning
50:36of our telecast
50:37you said
50:37Frank Bruno
50:38had a chance
50:39in the first four rounds
50:40after that
50:40it was Mike Tyson
50:41it didn't even get that far
50:42I think he went out there
50:43with that same thing in mind
50:44and tried to
50:44you know
50:45turn it into a war
50:46but I think
50:46once he felt Tyson's power
50:48definitely saw the quickness
50:49I think it changed
50:49his attitude a little bit
50:50it looked to me
50:51as though Bruno
50:52was fighting
50:53a defensive fight
50:54I think he started out
50:56to fight an offensive fight
50:57but like I said
50:57once he felt the power
50:58and saw the speed of Tyson
50:59I think it reversed
51:01everything in his mind
51:03from about the middle
51:04of the second round
51:05on it
51:05Mike he was trying
51:05to just survive there
51:06he had the cut
51:07that he was worried about
51:08so you know
51:08Tyson was very very
51:09impressive to me tonight
51:10do you think
51:11that even though
51:11Bruno was a champion
51:12that maybe he was
51:13a little intimidated
51:14because this is the first time
51:15he was going in
51:16to defend his championship
51:17and Mike's been in this
51:18situation many times before
51:19well Tyson definitely
51:20has been in this situation
51:21a lot
51:21I tell you
51:22Bruno coming over here
51:24the re-emergence of Tyson
51:25I think might have
51:25got to him a little bit
51:26but you know
51:27he's one of the nicest
51:29gentlemen in the world
51:29he came over here
51:30a lot of his fans
51:31followed him over
51:31helped him out
51:32support him
51:33and you know
51:33he's got nothing
51:34to be ashamed of
51:35because I believe
51:35he was in there
51:35with one of the best
51:36fighters in the world
51:36tonight
51:37okay we heard Don Keane
51:38talk about the unification
51:39of all the divisions
51:40and everything
51:41what would you like
51:42to see happen
51:42as far as the unification
51:43is concerned right now
51:44well I think you know
51:45Tyson certainly
51:45is going to turn around
51:46and fight one of the
51:47other champions I think
51:48you know
51:48the two people that
51:49you got to keep in mind
51:50is Lennox Lewis
51:50and Riddick Bowe
51:51you know these are
51:52two of the best
51:52heavyweights out there
51:53also and you know
51:54they've been on this
51:55on again off again
51:55situation
51:56I think that those guys
51:57need to step up to the
51:58plate or go to the
51:59dugout
51:59you know because people
52:00are going to lose
52:00interest in that fight
52:01now let's look down
52:02the road just a little
52:03bit
52:04what fights would you
52:05like to see from
52:06the top contenders
52:07take place right now
52:09I believe that
52:10obviously the Riddick Bowe
52:12Lennox Lewis fight
52:13is something that has
52:13to happen sometime
52:14but any fight that
52:16Tyson has from this
52:16point on is going to
52:17get it's going to
52:18gather a lot of
52:18attention
52:18man it's been a lot
52:19of fun hasn't it
52:20it's been a blast
52:20man it's been great
52:21thanks so much
52:22you better believe it
52:23thank you Tommy
52:23now for some final
52:24thoughts on the main
52:25event let's go back
52:26to ringside to Steve
52:27Ferdy and Bobby
52:28gentlemen
52:28all right Jim and
52:29Tommy thanks very much
52:30well Ferdy I got to
52:32ask you Mike Tyson
52:34silenced the British
52:35fans did he silence
52:37his critics tonight
52:38I think he did I
52:39think that was a
52:40performance worthy of
52:41the old Tyson it was
52:43fierce it was determined
52:44he punched in bunches
52:46he punched with the
52:46accuracy he wanted
52:47even compared himself
52:48to Henry Armstrong
52:49he's a ring historian
52:50he's right he punched
52:51like Henry Armstrong
52:52so I think he's back
52:53I think the fires there
52:54the desire to become a
52:55ring legend is there I
52:57think in short the era
52:58of Tyson has arrived and
53:00the Tyson train has left
53:01the station to go around
53:02the world in many fights
53:03and before I leave let me
53:05say that I would like to
53:07apologize to my colleague
53:08for a jibe and a jest
53:10that I made Larry
53:11Merchant which I hope
53:13being colleagues he
53:14understands I was just
53:15joking I'm perfectly
53:16willing to concede that
53:18he's much better looking
53:19to me however I'm taller
53:20than he is
53:22all right very good
53:23now Bobby Chase
53:24that's a tough act to
53:25follow I don't know
53:26Bobby has Mike Tyson
53:28restored his credibility
53:29I don't think there's any
53:30doubt about it Steve I
53:31mean he was ferocious
53:32you can see that Frank
53:33Bruno was intimidated
53:33the first punch
53:35put a notice to Frank
53:36Bruno that yes not only
53:37my back but I'm a little
53:38stronger too I weigh a
53:39little bit more and I
53:40got four years of hunger
53:41stored up inside me
53:42four years of aggression
53:43that I'm going to let
53:44loose on you I think the
53:45heavyweights were all put
53:46on notice today Frank
53:47Bruno has been fighting
53:47better as of recent times
53:48than he did in 89 he was
53:5020 pounds bigger and
53:51stronger but only lasted
53:52approximately half the
53:53time all right it looks
53:55like Bruce Seldon is next
53:56the WBA champion what kind
53:59of problems does he pose
54:00Bruce Seldon has one of
54:01the best jabs in the
54:01heavyweight division now he
54:02also has a questionable
54:03chin we're all gonna have
54:04to you know watch that
54:05very carefully when he gets
54:05hit does he have the
54:06heart does he have the
54:07resilience to come back
54:08and do what's necessary
54:09that's the key somebody's
54:10got to hit Mike somebody's
54:11got to make Mike
54:12respect them and right
54:13now Mike respects no one
54:14he believes he's the best
54:15and he is a locomotive
54:17with one direction forward
54:18to the undisputed title
54:20well this was closure I
54:21mean this is quite
54:22different from the last
54:22time we were here huh
54:23with Tyson McNeely oh
54:25yeah it was I tell you
54:26what it was old time
54:27boxing back in my blood
54:28it's boiling because it's
54:30just like the old great
54:31alley fights excitement
54:33all right that's it from
54:34ringside let's go back up
54:35to Jim Hill Jim all
54:37right gentlemen thank you
54:38very much now as promised
