00:00Quite a lot of America's traditional allies don't seem particularly interested in joining
00:04the war effort, do they? And I'm just wondering whether you sensed in President Trump's tone last
00:11night, you know, a sense of frustration, perhaps fair to say he's aggrieved at those allies. What
00:18are your thoughts? Yes, definitely. I mean, I think he's frustrated. I mean, there's a few
00:22reasons. One is I think he just sees it as unfair that the U.S. has, you know, for 80
00:27years now,
00:28you know, protected the shipping lanes around the world for the great benefit of our allies.
00:35I'm not sure that the European militaries are even capable of helping. And even if they were,
00:42we don't really need them, but it would be nice. I think the president is maybe, you know, annoyed
00:47with just the fact that they haven't come to support him and the U.S. military. So, you know,
00:54I'm not that surprised. But again, I don't think they could really move the needle. You know,
00:58the best example is the United Kingdom, where both of the carriers are not really able to sail right
01:05now. And even the destroyers are getting to the region. They had to depend on France to defend
01:11the air base in Cyprus. And so, you know, the president understands that any contributions from
01:19the European allies would be somewhat performative. But I think even that's that kind of support or
01:26even payment or economic or budget support would be helpful. But I don't I don't see it coming
01:32anytime soon. And also, there's the political challenge in Europe that the Labour Party, for
01:37example, in in the UK is completely dependent on the Muslim vote. Now, granted, you know, this this
01:44there's the, you know, different different types of of minority populations in the UK. But generally
01:51speaking, they are dependent on the Muslim vote. And I think they're really nervous about any support
01:56for Iran, even though other Muslim countries in the Gulf are on our side on this.
