00:00I have a couple favorite Halo memories. My first couple are from Halo CE, and one was like Silent Cotographer,
00:08and I think the Warthog being able to kind of experience that sandbox that is Halo, being able to drive
00:15out into the water forever, and just the immersive gameplay.
00:19I think my second one from CE would be when we were working on the anniversary, and we did the
00:26sort of up-res of 343 Guilty Spark when you first see the Flood, and we were all like, wait,
00:33wait, flip over to the other one, because they were much bigger than that, and you think about your original
00:37time when you were first playing Halo, and how the Flood felt, and how big they felt, and then seeing
00:42it ten years later, they were much smaller, and maybe less scary on how they looked.
00:48I'd say those are my favorite memories.
00:50So, I'm sure like many people, I have multiple favorite moments in Halo. I would say the one that maybe
00:58is nearest and dearest to my heart is, not surprisingly, the end of Halo 4.
01:03It did what we wanted it to do. Like, I love the line where Chief says, you know, I was
01:10supposed to take care of you, and she says, we were supposed to take care of each other.
01:14And that was sort of the whole journey for us, right? Because, you know, I think the series started with
01:18Cortana taking care of John, and really, their journey together was magical in that moment, and I still get teary.
01:30But really, that was the culmination of, of, really, their relationship together. So, for me, that's a super special moment.
01:43Hi, everybody. It's Marty. You know, I cannot believe that it's been 15 years since we launched Halo.
01:50And, you know, one of my fondest memories was actually on the midnight launch party that we had at Redmond
01:56Town Center to see the Xbox launch and Halo.
02:00And one of the amazing things was there were probably about 40 of us there, almost the entire team that
02:06worked on Halo.
02:07And we watched as the first person went in to buy an Xbox, and they came out with two copies
02:12of Halo.
02:13And we looked around at each other, and we knew that we probably had a pretty good hit on our
02:17hands.
02:18So, thanks for 15 years. Thanks for being the best fans ever. Thanks a lot.
02:37Hello, and welcome to my home. Spartan Locke here. And I just want to take this moment to say happy
02:4415th anniversary, Halo.
02:46Thanks for the memories, the fantastic multiplayer, and the amazing stories.
02:52To celebrate, I've compiled a list of every single person that ever worked on a Halo game, ever.
02:59And now, a dramatic new game.
03:05Rob Adams. Thank you.
03:09Chris Alderson. Thank you.
03:12Graham Barthold. Thank you.
03:16Matt Bennigan. Thank you.
03:19Paul Bertone Jr. Thank you.
03:22Travis Brady. Thank you.
03:26Jessica Shea. Thank you.
03:29John Wood. Thank you.
03:31Tim Fortenberry. Thank you.
03:35And finally, Ray Chet.
03:37Thank you.
03:3915 years ago, Halo changed the game.
03:42It's been my honor to be a small part of that journey.
03:45Keep creating. Keep innovating.
03:49The lightest green.
03:52Yo, 15 years.
03:54What?
03:55Hey, it's Darren O'Hare, voice of Tom Lasky.
03:57Just want to wish everyone a happy 15th anniversary.
04:00Hey, thanks for having me part of the franchise, part of the family.
04:04Cheers.
04:05Halo 3 was my first experience with online multiplayer, and I remember playing in Michigan, up against guys in London,
04:13realizing that we were playing the same game at the same time, in the same world, and thinking how crazy
04:18that was, despite the fact that I totally sucked at it.
04:22I absolutely loved it.
04:23Hey, it's Greenscalf from Ready Up Live, and it's crazy to think that Halo is 15 years old.
04:29I mean, I remember playing way back in the day, Halo 1, and just absolutely loving it, you know, being
04:34awe-inspired when you first step onto the Halo ring.
04:36The experiences I have had, the friendships I have made with the Halo franchise are just unparalleled, unrivaled.
04:45So here's to 15 more years of Halo.
04:50Oh, hello.
04:52I'm Paul Russell, the godfather of Halo.
04:56So named because I named the franchise.
04:59You're welcome.
05:01I would like to wish Halo, a non-sentient entertainment franchise, a happy 15th anniversary.
05:10The Halo series has always held an incredibly special place in my heart, and part of it is because of
05:16the amount of player freedom that the series provides.
05:18You're greeted with this incredibly deep level editor with Forge, and then even after Forge, you've got your custom games
05:26that you can set up and play with your friends,
05:28and even download more over the file browser.
05:31And then on top of that, you've got the theater mode, which is a ton of fun, reviewing things from
05:35the campaign or the multiplayer,
05:37and even taking screenshots and sharing those to your friends.
05:40This series keeps providing to the players in ways that honestly not a lot of shooters can.
05:46Happy 15th, Halo.
05:47You've earned it.
05:48When Halo Combat Evolved launched 15 years ago, I had no idea what effect it was going to have on
05:54my life.
05:55But I wouldn't trade those 15 years for anything.
05:58I have met so many fantastic people.
06:01I have played so many great games.
06:04I have seen so many spectacular things.
06:07Happy 15th birthday, Halo.
06:09I hope there's many more.
06:11Halo has affected my life in a lot of ways.
06:14It got me into reading at a time when I otherwise wouldn't have picked up a book at all.
06:18I've made numerous friendships, and even a few professional connections that wouldn't exist without this franchise.
06:27So, thank you, Halo.
06:29Happy 15th anniversary.
06:31Here's to 15 more.
06:34Hi, I'm Marcus Leto, one of the original creators of the Halo universe.
06:39Wow.
06:4015 years.
06:41Really?
06:42Happy anniversary, Halo.
06:44And thank you to all the fans.
06:46Me and my friend Steve got my old school Xbox.
06:50He got a little TV, two controllers.
06:52We're playing Halo split screen, breezing through, feeling like superheroes.
06:57Master Chiefs, if you will.
06:59We get to one stage, the flood.
07:01You really don't think there's much that could creep you out.
07:06Basically, the walls start crawling, and there's a bunch of stuff running at you.
07:10I don't know where to go.
07:11Steve doesn't know where to go.
07:12So, we're just shooting and running around, aliens fighting other aliens.
07:17We tried over and over again.
07:20And the thing that we did not realize was we had to slow down.
07:24When you do it with a friend, that's what Halo really, really weighed on me, that co-op experience.
07:32Hi, it's Jen Taylor.
07:34Happy anniversary, Halo.
07:3615 years.
07:37It's a long time.
07:38It's a good thing I have a very, very big crush on you.
07:41Happy anniversary.
07:43I'm proud to say that I've witnessed our first steps on Alpha Halo.
07:46The rise of the flood, the return of the foreigners, the fall of the covenant,
07:51the rise of the Halo Reach Instinct God Squad, the rise of evil geniuses,
07:56and lethal, finally, playing for Optic Gaming.
07:59And all of that was in 15 years.
08:01So, here's to you, Halo.
08:03Happy 15th birthday.
08:04My favorite Halo memory has to be the Halo Combat Evolved campaign.
08:11I played the game straight through, like, eight hours through the night.
08:16Probably didn't go to school the next day.
08:17And I could not believe how cinematic it was.
08:20Like, the last level, you were driving...
08:21It never happened in a game like that.
08:23You were driving through an exploding planet on a warthog, and there was fire shooting out of things.
08:28The game was great.
08:28Halo Combat Evolved.
08:31The single-play.
08:32You get it.
08:33I've been lucky enough to meet so many diverse, amazing people playing Halo.
08:37We all share this common interest and passion, and I'm even able to bond with people that are really terrible
08:43at griftball and just betray their teammates.
08:45Looking at you, Jessica Shea.
08:47Regardless of how bad I know I am at the game, I'm so proud to know that the Halo franchise
08:52has been around for 15 years.
08:53Here's to another 15.
08:55Happy birthday, Halo.
08:56Halo, I heard you're turning 15 today.
08:59Super exciting.
09:01You know what that means, right?
09:02You get to learn how to drive.
09:04Just do me one favor, though.
09:06Don't let Kat be your teacher.
09:08Mm-hmm.
09:10Have a happy birthday.
09:11Love you.
09:13During a midnight launch, and we had arranged with the New York Police Department to drive mongooses, real-life mongooses,
09:21and a warthog down Fifth Avenue.
09:23And the police department, they let us do it, but the rules were we had two light changes to come
09:32down the Fifth Avenue in New York City.
09:34So that means the light could go from green to red to green to red.
09:40So we're talking maybe 90 seconds, maybe two minutes at the most.
09:44And I will never forget this, because we looked up Fifth Avenue.
09:47All of Fifth Avenue stopped.
09:48There's now, this is almost, this is midnight.
09:50There's no traffic.
09:51They have stopped Fifth Avenue in New York City, Manhattan, one of the busiest cities in the entire country.
09:58And roaring down the road, down Fifth Avenue, I'm standing in the middle, come two mongooses and a warthog.
10:03And they pull right up in front of the store, and Master Chief gets out, and the crowd just erupted.
10:07That, to me, is one of my favorite Halo moments.
10:10Hey, I'm Bernie Burns.
10:11I'm Gus Sorolla from Rooster Teeth Productions.
10:13Yeah.
10:13I want to say thank you.
10:15Happy birthday, Halo.
10:16I can't believe it's been 15 years.
10:17Halo, obviously super influential of Rooster Teeth.
10:20Without Halo, we wouldn't have done, we wouldn't have been able to make our greatest creation ever.
10:24Griff ball.
10:25Griff ball.
10:26We want to say thanks to everybody who's been part of the Red vs. Blue community, the Halo community, and
10:30every single person who has ever worked on Halo in any capacity whatsoever.
10:34It goes without saying that we wouldn't be anywhere without all of you.
10:38Yeah, we're big fans.
