00:00Big year for the Red Sox coming up.
00:02Then Garrett Whitlock crapped the bed,
00:04and Roman Anthony struck out to end the entire tournament.
00:09So, it's like a Felger take.
00:11As soon as you say it, you know the other thing's going to happen.
00:13You put into an existence.
00:14Oh, I know that.
00:15It's going the other way.
00:16So, but your thoughts on the Sox overall, Matthew?
00:18Yeah, look, they did have good springs as far as the tournament goes.
00:22In Jaron Duran's case, he played very well for Mexico.
00:25They were out of the tournament earlier, obviously.
00:28But also, he played well in the early part of spring training with the Red Sox.
00:32So, here's what I look at it and say, okay, well, then this is what I'm going to expect
00:38as the season begins for real.
00:40With, you know, the Major League season begins.
00:43I expect Abreu to have a better year than he's had yet.
00:47He's now 27.
00:49He's entering as basically the prime of his career.
00:52He's yet to have a full season in the Major Leagues with an OPS over 800.
00:56He looks terrific.
00:57He's in great shape.
00:58You can see it.
00:59Just looking at him on TV.
01:01We know he can play defense.
01:02He had a big tournament.
01:04So, let's go.
01:05Carry it forward.
01:07If the Red Sox are going to invest in all these guys and say during the whole time,
01:13we're building, we're building, we're building.
01:15Then they get to this stage.
01:16Fine.
01:17I'll buy in.
01:18You didn't get the right-handed bat.
01:20But you know what?
01:20If these guys are as good as you tell me they are, then you should be able to knock on
01:25the
01:25door of a World Series anyway.
01:26So, here you go.
01:27That should be the expectation.
01:29I guess what I'm getting at is this.
01:32Just because they didn't get the right-handed bat, I don't think you should lower the expectations
01:37for them.
01:38The expectations should still be the same.
01:41They should be a World Series caliber team the large majority of the time.
01:46They should be the same.
