00:00Well, I don't know if I need to be a savant to tell you this,
00:02but they just didn't hit.
00:03I mean, this was a problem throughout the tournament.
00:06It certainly was in the final game.
00:08And in the semifinal game, frankly, they didn't score a lot of runs.
00:12I mean, we know that the all-time great Aaron Judge
00:15did not really come through in that final game.
00:18He played, overall, a fine tournament.
00:21But, look, they were outplayed by Venezuela.
00:23They only had three hits.
00:25Bryce Harper-Homer was an exciting moment.
00:28That's all they had was a moment.
00:30They were facing Eduardo Rodriguez, who once got $80 million,
00:33but is at a 5 ERA the last two years,
00:36had a 10 ERA in this tournament up until this game.
00:40Obviously was shut down great against Team USA.
00:44They just didn't hit like they should.
00:46They did have a better roster.
00:48They did a better job of recruiting.
00:49For all the criticism that the team manager, Mark DeRosa, took,
00:53he did take them to the finals two years in a row.
00:56They bowed out in round two with a 3-3 record in two previous appearances.
01:02They did win it once.
01:03But, you know, I mean, overall, it was a great tournament.
01:07A little bit disappointing.
01:09Team USA was the pre-tournament favorite
01:11based on that great roster that they did put together.
