Oil price hikes no impact on Bicol tourism, says Albay mayor

Albay Mayor’s League President Carlos Baldo of Camalig town tells _The Manila Times_ on March 18, 2026 that the tourism arrival in his town is not affected by the current economic turmoil as it is increasing despite spiking gasoline prices to watch the effusive eruption of Mayon Volcano. Baldo also cancelled the Pinangat Festival in June as part of austerity measures following the US-Israeli led war in Iran.
