A girl who shared a single room with her mom at her grandparents' house for the first eight years of her life screamed and jumped for joy when a scavenger hunt led her to their first ever home. Marissa, from Houston, Texas, was celebrating her graduation with big career ambitions ahead, when she discovered she was pregnant with Mireya just four days later. Marissa put her career on hold and immediately focused on motherhood, moving into her parents' home and only taking contract jobs so she could give her daughter the love she felt she needed. As the years progressed, Mireya had a wonderful early childhood living with her grandparents, Marissa said, but the proactive single mom "felt an urge, a push... a desire for more."
