A doggy daycare is hosting the most adorable howl-oween costume contest – which sees the pups it cares for arriving on their school bus dressed ready for spooky season. Ruff And Puff, a popular dog-walking and pet service for Calgary in Alberta, Canada, was founded in 2020 by Denzel Morrison, a dog trainer from the city whose parents founded a dog rescue. One year, Ruff And Puff asked owners if they'd dress their dogs up for Halloween – and the families quickly embraced the idea. There have been an incredible display of creative costumes, from dogs dressed as Dolly Parton, (many) bananas, and a Vegas showgirl, to the house from UP, a dinosaur and even Scooby Doo. Ruff And Puff now hosts an annual competition for the best costume, with prizes including free rides and merchandise. The posts about the annual Spooky Season contest always going viral, as do other holiday-themed events for their dogs including Christmas, St Patricks Day, and Harry Potter back to school.

00:00We had a doggy partner. Grandma? A banana. A Vegas showgirl. Some of them are crazy.
00:08I've always wanted to do something with dogs. I grew up with dogs. My parents were in a dog
00:11rescue. I saw a video of the dog walker. He had a yellow van. He was like, people like to
00:17say that
00:17I have like a little dog school bus. I was like, what would happen if I got an actual school
00:22bus
00:23that I created something with the school bus? Social media, stuff started going viral,
00:28started getting more and more busy where I had to step away from my other job and go full time
00:31with this. The dog, well, they love the bus. Dogs can hear the bus a lot of the time. They'll
00:37be in
00:37the windows waiting. Come on, Nick. They ran out the door. They ran on the bus and they love seeing
00:43their buddies. Certain dogs have certain friends in the group. That's awesome to see. It's awesome
00:47to be a part of. I had the idea of, let's just have costumes on the bus. That'll be awesome
00:52for the
00:52dogs, right? And then we'll just take pictures of the costumes and see what kind of creative costumes
00:56your parents make. Look at Mary Puffins coming on the bus. We got Benny. Look at you. Fully homemade.
01:10Wow. Good job, Blue. Good boy. It kind of just grew up. One of the drivers went in the mom's
01:21house
01:21and she saw all the arts and crafts, like she was making the costume and everything. It was super cool
01:27when the parents got really involved and make the costumes from scratch. There you go. What a good boy.
01:35Last year's winner, Isla was like a Vegas showgirl. There's a couple bananas this year.
01:41Hello, banana. Hello. Oh, you in the front spot? We have such a big social media following. We have
01:47everybody vote and see what everybody's favorite costumes were. It's a costume contest now.
01:51We usually dress the dogs up every little holiday, whether it's Christmas or whatever.
01:57Happy holidays, everyone. It's just happiness, right? It's just stuff that makes you smile. It's super cool that
02:02we are able to do this as a job. I drive a school bus and it's full of dogs. That's
02:07my job.
